Mambi Restaurant

“I just recently moved into the awesome, Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights and Mambi is a 24-hour spot right on my block.”

“Been a customer for 15yrs. I love their Cuban sandwiches, but only if the big guy is up front making them, otherwise it's terrible.”

“Inexpensive food with large portions and an assortmant of afternoon and evening specials to choose from on top of chef's choices.”

  1. +: Lively atmosphere

    -: Pre-cooked food

    +: Generous portions

+: Good mofongo and stuffed potatoes

-: The possibly undercooked chicken made my friend sick.

-: Sub-par beer menu despite having a full bar

-: And they take the caps off the bottles and put a napkin in the top of them?  What?

Worth checking out if you're in the area and hungry, but don't go out of your way for it.  Three stars seems about right for this place.

  2. Quick and easy Dominican dinner.  Really cheap breakfast prices!  The food is tasty and the vibe is welcoming.  The staff is hard working quick and make sure that your are taken care of.

Not flashy. But try the breakfast special with the mangu

  3. You get awesome food even at 4 in the morning and that's amazing. Love the selection of items they have and it seemed crowded even in the early morning hours.

  4. So much fun to eat here. Food is simple, hearty. It can also get quite greasy. Good prices too.

A warning if you're driving into the neighborhood — don't do it! Very hard to find parking.

  5. Very authentic  Dominican food, server was a little impatient though (in NYC, really? -say it ain't so..)..  large portions, fresh made juice available , large menu, reasonable prices. a casual diner style environment. clientele mostly Dominican, it is Washington Heights after all.
