  1. Had a great dinner here last night. Didn't hurt that I was with great company. Market table, although loud, provided the right ambiance to talk, laugh and people watch through large windows. It's not every day you get to see a beautiful supermodel rush out of a cab and start puking on either side of it while the driver waits.

The food was good. Some items were more outstanding than others. The eggplant Parm and Brooklyn Burrata were good. The quinoa hush puppies and corn were very good.

We all ate fish; and were in agreement that the whole fish was lighter and the Arctic char was buttery, rich. Overall, the mains here were delicious.

Dessert was good. We shared the brown butter tart and cheesecake. Both were good. Lovely staff, our company and good customer service topped off a great night.

  2. Market Table is gorgeous–has sophisticated ambience, nicely plated dishes, and a cool-looking wine bar to boot. The food however is a bit of a hit or miss, the Grilled Salmon was a hit. But let's be real, you shouldn't be messing up grilled salmon. We loved the gnocchi, as it was easy to share and quite delicious, as was the crudo. However, the dishes that were Market Table's signatures–like the hush puppies and the lamb flatbread weren't anything special–in fact, it's even hard to recall what they taste like, since it seemed so awash. As much as I wanted to like Market Table and recommend it to others, I couldn't get passed the mediocrity of its flavors, especially for its prices and level of posh.

  3. Came here for brunch a little while back and I loved the look & feel of the place. Very brunchy with lots of natural lighting perfect for food shots. Open space and just enough room for your neighbor. The special buttermilk pancakes at the time (I believe it had citrus ingredients in it) was probably the best pancake I ever had. But the entrees were eh. Both the burger and the omelette were dishes I could've made at home for a tenth of the price. And I'm not a great cook or anything. Those pancakes though…

  4. Love love this place! It's intimate, not too loud for dates but still got the jam going.

The server and host were super nice and helpful and I love some of the older music that they play.

As mentioned by them, they just changed to their new spring menu. The ceviche I had was a bit salty but not bad. The drink I had was absolutely amazing though (the special cocktail with gin)!

  5. Everything here was delicious. The spinach gnocchi and hush puppies were delicious. I'm a big fan of brussel sprouts and these did not disappoint. The butternut squash risotto was very rich. Luckily I shared it because I only needed a few bites to be perfectly content. On the other hand, I ordered the lamb neck because I'd never had it before and I wish I had more. It was very favorable and tender. It almost melted in my mouth.
Aside from food, service was amazing, staff was friendly, and they pull off a intimate, cozy setting with "Hipster BBQ" playing in the background.

  6. Must have walked by this place 20 times and never even knew it was here. But that's the beauty of NYC, you will never run out of new places to try.

Market Table is a small restaurant located in soho that has somewhat of an small European cafe feel. Came here for lunch and had an order of the sautéed flounder with cauliflower and brussel sprouts. The entire meal was very good. Flounder was tasty and the Brussels sprouts (which I usually hate) were actually pretty good. Cauliflower was also quite good. Only somewhat complaint was that the temp of the food could have been a little hotter.

The prices here are really good for a soho restaurant, and they also have a good wine selection priced in similar fashion. Very laid back atmosphere and with good service. All in all, a great lunch option for the area.

  7. Went here for brunch.  The place was bustling.  Ordered steak tacos which were tasty but how could they charge entree prices for appetizer portions.  I was still hungry.  Unbelievable.  Not going back.

  8. As we entered into Chris M.'s "festival of birthday" time period, we decided on going to Market Table for a pre-birthday celebration last weekend. With a tempting menu and some good vibes making it pretty appealing, we headed into Market Table to check it out.

It's an attractive space, with plenty of windows for an open feel but keeping an intimate bistro feel. There is also a nice corner bar to saddle up to pre-meal like we did. Our bartender, as well as hostess and server we had, was upbeat and accommodating. Perusing the cocktail menu, we chose the Bean There, Done That drink that included gin, vanille de madagascar, lemon, egg white, and burnt orange. Tasty and refreshing, I recommend this one. Our tab was moved to our table with no trouble as the rest of our party arrived and we were seated. Our server did a great job, and was very informative if we had any questions. Starting out, I chose the Spring Pea Soup, while others got the Spicy Prime Beef Tartar and the East Coast Oysters. Everyone was pleased with our apps choices, I thought the pea soup hit the spot perfectly and tasted top notch. For my entree, I went with the Pancetta Wrapped Pork Tenderloin (pic taken for your enjoyment). Others went with Pan Roasted Bell & Evans Chicken and Grilled Arctic Char. We all enjoyed our entrees very much. I could have done with a bit more meat on the plate but I am always like that, it was an adequate portion though. The pork was done just right, not overcooked. I finished off with a piece of Maida Heatter's Cheesecake that was satisfying, thumbs up. I will say that it's not the cheapest stop for eats/drinks in town so be prepared for the bill, but it was all worth it as Market Table showed us a great meal experience.

Bottom line: I can give Market Table a solid 4.5 stars for this visit. Good stuff all around…cocktails, apps, entrees, dessert. Attentive and knowledgeable staff/service. Great atmosphere and setting. Good quality and the prices do reflect it, be aware. I would love to come back here, I am a big fan!
