  1. Ran over to Pink Canary since I've been dying to try their cupcakes. I was in a rush because a huge storm was moving into the area.
I waited to be helped because the girl at the counter was talking to someone about setting up a birthday party there.
When it was finally my turn I had to ask what flavor cupcakes they had. There was no menu listing the flavors of the day. The girl didn't seem extremely knowledgable about what they had but the place is new so I'll give her a break.
I ordered 4 cupcakes, red velvet, rainbow cookie, vanilla and chocolate.
She goes in the back and comes back with only 2 both with vanilla frosting. I guess she forgot about the others? And didn't hear that I wanted chocolate?
It already took so long to get the cupcakes and she seemed harried so I didn't say anything. I just wanted to get out of there before the storm (didn't happen by the way, it starting pouring as soon as I left).
Anyway! I tried the cupcakes as soon as I got home with my expectations pretty low. They looked kind of bad. And they tasted bad too!
The vanilla cake tasted like it came from a box. The chocolate cake had no flavor and tasted like it came from a supermarket bakery. The vanilla frosting was waxy and completely artificial tasting.
    Also they were $3 each.
Since Pink Canary just opened I would still try it again. Maybe they need to work out some kinks such as: having a daily flavor listing with descriptions and not going into the back to put the frosting on every time someone orders. These aren't cannolis, they don't need to be made on the spot. It takes too much time and the frosting looked crappy and sloppy. Also, obviously, make a better tasting, higher quality cupcake.

  2. I discovered this cute little bakery on my way to the Gantry State park. Decked up in pink, this place has a small variety of cupcakes, mini cupcakes, cookies, coffees n cake pops. Anyhow, I tried their mini M&M cupcake n got a chocolate cake pop free (It was their first b'day!). The chocolate ganache on the cupcake was heavenly but the cake was a bit dry. But I wud love to try their other flavors!

  3. This place  just opened two months ago and it really cute.  My husband surprised me with an assortment of mini cupcakes that hit the spot.  I may order a cake from here for the next baby shower I attend.

  4. Pricey for a small cupcake (~3). I had the wedding cake cupcake. Pretty good. There seemed to only be about 6 cupcakes left at 6 pm on a Tuesday. Not sure if they sold out or because they don't have so many…

It's a cute place to Pop in and out for a quick dessert (they offer cookies as well) and coffee but i feel as if they cater more to events/custom orders than a store front selling single items. Friendly people, but not memorable.

  5. Walking in,  you're hit with an aroma of baked goods. In this case,  brownies in the oven. The space is small but has cafe seating. Lots of fun desserts to choose from. I saw linzer hearts, various cake pops all decorated, mini cupcakes, regular assorted cupcakes, brownie bites, and lots of different style cookies.

I was drawn to the mini cupcakes at first glance. They were colorful, nicely decorated, and so cute. Perfect for the kids that I was shopping for. The hands down favorite was chocolate and red velvet. I also bought six cookies that reminded me of whoopie pies. But only in appearance. They were actually chocolate cookies with vanilla cream inside to form that look. Delicious. The cookies were moist,  soft yet crunchy at the same time. And the vanilla cream was very fresh. It was a tad sweeter than I thought but I don't have a sweet tooth so I'm sure it was great for those that do.

The last item I fell for was the linzer hearts. They were about the size of a quarter,  small but packed with flavor. The raspberry jelly sandwiched inside tasted fresh, slightly tart but the powdered sugar on top balanced out the shortbread. It was an expensive $1 each but it was worth trying. Lol See my pic for the size.

BTW, there's also a large back room for birthday parties. The restroom is huge and very clean. And they have shelves of cafe themed items for sale. Great for a last minute gift shop stop or for a quick buy if the birthday girl wants to pick out something. Very pretty store and very yummy treats. Must visit. Next time I'll try the coffee or milk shakes. See menu on their wall. They even sell Vegan desserts but pre-order only. Tip: cakes can be custom ordered or pre-order for pick up. I tried to buy one whole cake but they only sold slices. FYI.
