  1. Fantastic views by the floor to ceiling glass windows. We went for the market table buffet. Mostly veggies and salads, well presented and delicious. Meat was pulled pork and was perfect. Great service for a great venue. Feeling pampered.

  2. First off …my disclaimer I am a HUGE Mets Fan
as in life long the Mets can do no wrong type fan…
we have seats in sec 522 I often look over to the Acela clubs
wall of glass as see people in there. In my mind they are enjoying their meal and the game
so I had a little extra cash to burn and it was a weekday day time game. They are few and far between so I said today is my day to try the Acela club.
after looking on Mets web site I knew it would be $29.00 for the buffet
you take the elevator ask for the Acela club
    I was so excited!
    we were warmly greeted
    I saw many empty tables
the Tables are in tiers with a big regular seating section in back
I asked can we sit up against the windows
and we were informed yes for 10 dollars extra
ok well we are in …we are in
we are seated in a second tier as the hostess said the tables outside and those right up against the windows were reserved
so we are seated on the edge of second tier over looking the other two and with a lovely view of the field.
I did notice some of the tables remained EMPTY so I am a little confused about the reservation comment of the hostess
you will notice its so quiet … there is the game in front of you but no sounds (except when Asdrubal hit a home run!!!)
We were given a drink menu and the menu of the buffet
    we opted for water
    so here is the buffet
    hot dogs and the fixins
pizza (its cooked right their in a coal fired oven)
    Cesar Salad
mac & cheese but it has bacon in it?
a Waffle station with fresh berries plus hot nutella spread
    Omelet station
fresh sandwich station (sliders, corn beef, turkey)
    some pasta salads
    sliced fresh fruits
    assorted cookies and little pastries
and little black & white cookies they had run out of by the time I went back
everyone was very friendly our water was always filled
our waiter came to remind us that the food service would be ending at 3
its ok its not blow away
if you want a quiet meal and a different ball park experience its worth it
Our meal for two came to 84 with the extra seat cost and the tip
was it worth it …yes for one time visit but would I return I am not sure

  3. I'm honestly surprised by the high reviews of the Acela Club. I'd give this a one-star if it wasn't for the service provided by our waitress Michele, who was lovely.

I made a reservation on Open Table for the Acela Club before a Mets game with my fiance and his parents. We were seated right away, at one of the tiers (more on that later), since in my Open Table reservation, I had said we'd love a table by the window. The views really were stunning, and you could see the entire field from the floor to ceiling windows.

We ordered three beers and were left to look over the menu and decide what we wanted to order.

The way the Acela Club works, you can either do a buffet with various options, advertised at $39/per person, or order an entree for various prices (most starting at at least $49), which also includes the buffet. The buffet is broken into sections, and included soups, salads, cheese/bread, mac and cheese, and wood-fired pizzas, in addition to other options. We all decided to forego an entree and stick with just the buffet, as my fiance and his family had great memories of how delicious it all was.

The buffet was average, at the very best. I first headed to the soup/panini station for black bean soup and a cheese panini. I made the executive decision NOT to get the panini after seeing the woman pressing them put the panini on the panini maker for maybe 30 seconds, and then take it off, slightly warmed but in no way cooked through or warmed inside. The portion of soup that was served to me (in a tiny plastic cup) was minuscule, and the soup itself had a weird smell, like it had sat in the pot for way too long and was burned.

I ended up filling the remainder of my plate with the buffalo mozzarella, which was the best thing I ate the entire time, as well as a pesto pasta salad, and some various breads/cheeses.

Here's my biggest beef – and I may be an asshole for just assuming certain things, however, I have a firm belief that when you have a dish that is typically vegetarian (black bean soup, pesto pasta with tomatoes, etc.) you should advertise if you put meat, especially pork products, in it.

As a vegetarian, it came as quite a surprise when I put my spoon into the black bean soup (which was mostly a very loose liquid and looked unlike ANY black bean soup I've ever seen in my entire life), pulled it out and saw pieces of bacon inside it. I was just thankful that I had actually looked and hadn't eaten it assuming it was vegetarian.

I wasn't so lucky with the pesto pasta salad – mixed in with the cheese and tomato was tiny pieces of ham. Why ham was put in a pesto pasta? I have no fucking idea. What I do know, is that I ate some and had a very, very uncomfortable night and next morning. I think it's unnecessary to put pork into pesto, and then not give any kind of disclaimer that it's in there, for both dietary and religious purposes.

Everything we ate was just okay. The portions given out by the staff were tiny, and you were given a dirty look if you asked for seconds (they were tiny by ANY standards, I'm not expecting a Cheesecake Factory type of portion).

So basically, I ate buffalo mozzarella for most of the night, too afraid to try anything in a sauce since apparently adding in random, tiny pieces of meat is what the Acela Club enjoys doing.

The desserts, especially the chocolate espresso cake, was by far the best thing that I had for the entire night, and what ended up filling me up.

What really bummed me out at the conclusion of the evening was that when we arrived at the restaurant, the host who sat us said that we'd need to leave by 8 PM, which was totally fine. Our waitress told us that while they had said that, it wasn't really the case and we could stay as long as we wanted to, but to know that they stopped serving food at 9 PM. Because of this information, I ended up ordering another beer, assuming we'd have plenty of time to sit and enjoy. While we sat, swarms of managers/supervisors with earpieces were walking by our table, giving us looks and making us feel completely uncomfortable and rushed. This started even before the 8 PM cutoff time, and just got increasingly worse throughout the next 10 minutes.

Our waitress told us she had made a mistake and they actually did need our table, so she dropped the check, as more managers circled. When we looked at our bill, we saw we were all charged $49 for the buffet instead of $39. When we questioned this, our waitress said, "Oh, it's a $10 upcharge to sit on the tiers. No one told you that?" No, they didn't. We would have paid it regardless, but it would have been nice to have that heads up. Literally when we stood, one of the managers grabbed our glasses to clear the table, reaching over us to do so.

All in all, I'll be heading to Shake Shack next time. I don't think anything about the Acela Club was high end in any capacity and left feeling incredibly disappointed, even with the stunning field views (for an added charge).

  4. Food was good. Dessert was awesome. Drinks were weak. View was great. Waitstaff is meh. One price gives you a full menu which is cool.

  5. Excellent view of the stadium. Full buffet stations. East coast ( glidden point) and west coast oysters. Lots of televisions. Cold beer. Tons of space and outdoor seating if you qualify.

  6. We at at the Acela club  buffett during a day game. It wasn't a huge spread but the options were acceptable. The had cured meats and cheese station, a slider station, pizza station, etc. The carved pastrami was incredible. I am a sucker for cured meats, I must have eaten a pound of sopersatta. It was worth the $29 for all you can eat. That's  what it costs for 2 sandwiches at the consessions. Great atmosphere, bustling. We will definitely return if we ever get there early enough. Lol.
