  1. What a hidden gem in Staten Island! Really great brunch options. Everything came out tasty, cooked to perfection, and with beautiful presentation.

Chorizo potato egg bake was delish! Friendly staff too.

They even put a star on my cappuccino! For that, they get 4 stars 🙂

  2. Came here on Tuesday afternoon for lunch. They run a lunch special of buy 1 get 1 free. We order guacamole, royal crepe and pulled chicken sandwich. The server told us that we can order 1 more dish for free and it can be anything dessert, appetizers or main dish. We decided to get another pulled chicken sandwich to go. I would say food was ok. Nothing special. But Very simple food. Which I really liked. No fancy sauces. Clean food. Our server was really nice. At the end we talked for 20 mins about working out, nutrition , yoga, meditation etc. Very interesting conversation. I would definitely go here again.

  3. Really like coming here with my husband or friends for brunch. I always have a savory crepe, usually vegetable, and it comes with the perfect little salad on the side.

Has a nice and relaxed atmosphere, but still modern. I know they have started serving alcohol, but I've never had a chance to go in the evenings. Hopefully soon!

  4. Came here for lunch and I personally had a fantastic experience.

I had the seafood crepe which had shrimp, calamari and snail….. Yes, snail in a seafood crepe. Surprisingly the combo is outstanding and the snails were huge. If youre feeling adventurous I highly recommend giving it a try. So they have their cucumber and lemon water which is so refreshing. I must have drank about 4 glasses. I also had the lava cake for desert which was very good but I do wish they served it with regular vanilla ice cream and not gelato.

  5. Alor is a trendy neighborhood spot, with great crepes! I have had the chicken and mushroom crepe, as well as the banana rum and nutella brownie crepe. Staff is friendly and they recently renovated, even though renovations were not needed. They have live music on different days, which can be a little loud, but definitely a good last minute hang out. I love the coffee beans inside the table tops and the cucumber-lemon water they give out. The parking lot is small, so it's better to park on the street. If you haven't tried this place, you should.

  6. Stopped by Alor Cafe for brunch with my boyfriend & grandmother.  I ordered their eggs benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes, which were very good!  My boyfriend said he enjoyed their flatbread with grilled chicken.  I would definitely recommend Alor for brunch!

  7. There is a legitimate reason I hate brunches – places like Alor.

Waiting 15 min for someone to take your order (no, place not busy, there is hardly anyone here).
    Lukewarm coffee.
    Wobbly tables.
Wobbly glasses (where does one get wobbly glasses?).
    Dirty chairs.
    Crab and asparagus omelette.
I am sorry, peeps – this dense scrambled eggs and stuff concoction has no right to be called omelette. Where is the fluffy goodness I was expecting reading that word? No, just do not do it, please… Yes, I still ate it – it is good ingredients, proteins and such, but what a waste of potential.

Oh, and worst part – "live music". The lady was playing accordion this whole time… It sounded roughly as someone pulling the cat by its tail… I have no music sense what so ever, but she did not hit one right note in any songs… You laugh for first 5 minutes of it before you get annoyed and want to hurt someone.

There is a bathroom area behind the curtain. And a table set between two bathroom doors. Private dining area? lol?

  8. This is a great place if you want to just chill out and listen to some cool music. They have a decent selection of wine and charge a pretty decent price for a bottle.

The crepes, I have been told, are very, very tasty and the service is pretty darn good.

We came here for brunch one morning and had the pleasure of listening to an older woman play the accordion, how appropriate! I'd love to visit again!
