  1. It's a diner. With omelettes. And sandwiches. And other diner-y things. I've been here a bunch and have always enjoyed my experience. But, nothing that stands out in either a positive or negative way.

  2. I don't enjoy giving one star reviews out, but there's a time and place for everything and this place deserves it.

I went on Thanksgiving morning since options were limited and I gotta say, they live up to the disappointment.

Service is gruff and not friendly, overpriced and the diner food they're serving up isn't good. I went with a western egg sandwich and it was over cooked and tasted rotten. How does an egg sandwich taste rotten? Yes, I know. I had to smother it in ketchup and just swallow it, no chewing or smelling allowed.

The kicker that secured the 1 star review was that I opted to have it on an english muffin. When I went to pay, I was charged a $1 extra. What? I asked why and the man I'm assuming is the owner or manager working the register responded: because it comes on a roll or bread,  english muffin and bagel are $1 more. I answered: well that's silly and my waiter probably should have mentioned it. (It's not about the $1, but the principle, yo.) The owner retorted, well, that's just the way it is.

I paid $6.25 for a disgusting, small egg sandwich. YIKES.

  3. Corned beef has was on point!! Crispy, just as I ordered. Hash brown's were really good too! All in all, solid breakfast that was quick and reasonable.

  4. Now a solid 2-star.

Ordered breakfast, as they were the only walkable option that had something that sounded appealing to me.

Pre-made toast, kept under a warmer [read: butter didn't melt at all, and way chewy)

Ordered whoole wheat – given white

Picked up 20 minutes after I ordered.  Walked two blocked to office.  Food cold.

Random tomatoes (which I did not request) all up in my omelette….

Omelette taste was fine, even if the cheese seeped all out on the bottom.

    Hashbrowns solid enough.

    Meh.

  5. The food is just so so. Ordered veal scallopini and found the sauce too oily and tasteless, and the cole slaw tastes weird.

  6. I kind of hate the lukewarm to cold ratings I'm seeing here. For us, it completely fit the bill.  I wasn't expecting gourmet, and we didn't get it.  What we did get was something to satisfy everyone at 11 p.m. on a Tuesday night.  One kid got pancakes, one kid got spaghetti, I got moussaka.  Was it the best moussaka I've ever had? No, but it hit the spot.  Thanks Applejacks for being a comfort-food beacon to some weary travelers!

  7. This is a pretty reliable place.  I get delivery from them and I eat in occasionally.  It's packed on Sunday mornings and service can be kind of slow at that time, but otherwise, you can usually get a seat and the service is quick.

Food overall is typical diner food.  Portions are large and the food is decent.  Prices are high for a diner, but not bad for being so close to Times Square.

It's a plus that it is so convenient to me, but I haven't gone there in my pajamas yet.

  8. I don't know what all the bad reviews are for…  It's a great diner in the city..  What more can you ask for?  Reasonably priced for the location, food was hot, yummy and delicious.  You can always do much worse and the service was spot on.
