  1. We came here a couple of times. Is Asian Eatery a destination restaurant? Heck no. It's just a takeout place with quite a number of tables inside. They even have a sushi counter.

They have a Chinese and Japanese menu but I learned to stick with the Chinese items. I even saw Pad Thai on the menu, don't do it!

The staff speak Toisan and Cantonese so stick with those items and things will be okay! A shout out to my peeps!

The staff was uber nice to me. Maybe because they recognized that I am a Cantonese person like them. I spoke to them in Cantonese and they were tickled pink. The guy taking my order was so sweet to help guide me what is good or not on the menu. He was honest. I'm cool with honest.

I only come here if I have a show to go to at a nearby theatre. The service is quick. And if I tell them I have show tickets, they are even faster! We had a meal here, finished and paid within 35 minutes! Must be a record!

We like the string beans here because they use a garlic sauce. The Lo Mein I enjoyed. And when I asked for less oil, they really used less oil. Yay. That's all I ask for.

I also first time coming here tried the Nabe Yaki Udon Seafood, chicken, vegetable and egg in noodle soup. It wasn't too good. I only figured out in subsequent visits that Japanese food is not their specialty. I learned my lesson.

I also was surprised for a Chinese place they do not have many pork dishes. Must be a Midtown neighborhood and people thang.

  2. Asian Eatery is not the best place to eat or the worse but this area has a scarcity of reasonable places for a quick inexpensive meal; not counting McD.

Their Chinese dishes are very descent but the Japanese dishes was disappointing.

Beef Lo Mein – tasty but a little too salty. Good. Rate 4/5
Garlic chicken with string beans- pretty well executed. Rate 4/5
I have visited twice and is on my list of what to eat when in the area.

  3. $6.95 lunch special EVERYDAY from 11AM – 5PM.  Take advantage of this SUPER deal everyday!    Not that healthy, but as long as you have health insurance you should be ok!

I ordered the pepper steak with white rice and egg roll.  The egg roll came out first and then the main dish 20 minutes later- plain beef with squared cut green peppers and onions. Tasted subpar, however I did appreciate the server's hard work manning all the tables by herself.  Still 20 minutes is too long of a wait for Chinese.

I take my earlier comment back back.  The Chinese to-go places provide larger portions and cheaper prices.  Asian Eatery is great for sit-down Chinese.

  4. This place is the definition of decent… Nothing here will blow your socks off. The food is okay, the sushi is alright, and the soup is not bad.

They have mad cheap lunch specials that keep this place busy during lunch hours but you can beat the wait by placing your order online.

I work local to here sometimes and it's one of the few places you can get in and out in 5mins (placing the order online) in the area for when you're short on time.

So basically, if you only have a few minutes and want to grab some food that will make you scream "Whatever"… Hit this place up.

  5. This review is for take-out. I just moved to New York, and in the midst of unpacking and assembling IKEA furniture, I forgot to eat. So handy-dandy Yelp was immediately up and I looked for a place where I can order take-out on Yelp and have it be ready immediately for pick up or delivery.

I scrolled through the menu, and the Dinner Combos seem like amazing deals. I ordered the Beef with broccoli, which came with choices: a side (hot and sour soup), type of rice (fried rice). It also comes with some fried appetizer noodles and a fortune cookie.

In any case, I arrive 5 minutes later. Everything was ready for me. It was already pre-paid. So it was a perfect in-out experience. They were super nice. When I got home, I laid everything out. The beef with broccoli was quite good, and well-portioned. They gave the right amount of fried rice, and the hot and sour soup was quite good as well. For $8.50, this is an awesome meal. They provided the utensils, sweet sauce, soy sauce in a ziploc bag inside the bag.

I will be ordering from here again.

  6. A new establishment in the hustling fashion district. Chinese owned, I'm excited to have Hong Kong style type breakfast served at this place. I went there for lunch because they have an awesome $15 for $30 deal. I mean why not? Two people and lunch at $7.50 each, that's standard price for the area.

I had two of their dim sum apps to start: shrimp dumpling and the shumai. I thought the shrimp dumpling was well done and I've had better shumai. The bahn mi was delicious and I went with lemongrass chicken. Delish! I would order out here again for lunch as well. My gf got the steam bao with kimi and veggies and she loved it too.

Also, don't forget to check in. You get a free thai ice tea. I think this is family run because I see a grandma in there helping out (cute and nice lady). I would recommend a quick lunch with great lunch special options if you're in the area. Service is good too.

  7. "Decent Food."

If you want a divine culinary experience then this place is not for you. But, if you are into decent food, quick take-out, chinese and Japenese combinations then you are home. The menu with Japanese and Chinese delectables is pretty immense, and it always takes me a while to order. Shoot, you can even get pork fried rice with your entree. The staff is pretty nice by making you feel like you are home, and they are kind of funny

For the portions that you get, the price are pretty cheap. It may not be the best food but you will be full. For dinner, a salmon bento box comes with two well-sized salmon fillets, shrimp shumai, a californian roll, salad and soup for around 14-15 bucks.

  8. I got Sunday night delivery from here. Compared to the other available Chinese delivery options in the area, I was pretty happy with this place, both in terms of price and overall food quality. They even have a dinner special deal for $8.50. It includes an entree, choice of rice (yes fried is an option) along with an egg roll or small soup. With delivery min being $10, you could get yourself a pretty good deal!

I got Hunan chicken and beef, wonton soup and pork fried rice. The Hunan sauce was very tasty. Pork fried rice was a little underwhelming but for a size small there was a TON of it. I'll be enjoying these leftovers for a few days!
