  1. Went here for brunch and had a great experience. We shared the donuts and bread platter to start and everything was extremely good. I then had the chicken and waffles, which as advertised, was delicious. It's all white meat chicken and the combination of the sweet potato waffles and the red eye gravy was unique and extremely good. I highly recommend everyone try this. There's other options too that look pretty good but I feel like you should come here for this unless you just want typical brunch food and are in the area. It wasn't too crowded at all for peak brunch time on a Saturday and probably due to its location. It's in alphabet city and not too close to any subway lines. If you walk 10 minutes closer to Union Square, you won't be able to get a table for brunch anywhere but here, it's no big deal. They do have $4/5 drink specials for brunch. The cups are small but it's still worth it to have a little mimosa or bloody mary with your food. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service was good too.

  2. Walked all the way over here for brunch because you can reliably get a reservation on open table if you've waited WAY too long to make brunch plans. Although the menu is pretty standard and everyone will be generally pleased with their order, there's really only one thing you should absolute order here.

Sweet potato waffles with fried chicken. Yes, New York, chicken and waffles. Do it.

If you don't, believe me, you'll seriously regret it.

  3. Not particularly spectacular, but not bad either. There were certain elements that really demonstrated the restaurant's abilities, but others that kind of flopped and died…

I came with a large group to celebrate an engagement. The restaurant was pretty empty (maybe one or two other tables max during our time there) on a Thursday night. Maybe because it wasn't a weekend, but I thought it was odd that there were so few people. We ordered several appetizers and wines to share across the table. The white wine (pinot grigio I think, but I know nothing about wines) was very good. I think I heard people saying the Malbec that they chose was nice as well. The sliders were good, but very small. I liked the coleslaw mix that the shredded pork was served over. Now the mac and cheese… Maybe it was just me, but I really wanted to enjoy it because it looked so good but it had this odd dry taste without the yummy cheesiness and I really couldn't eat it. I think it may have been the worst mac I've ever had at a restaurant 🙁 Hopefully it was just an off-night and not a normal thing.

I ordered the B4 Porkchop which was a giant slab of meat. The wine reduction (I think) sauce was amazing and I couldn't get enough of it. The vegetables on top of the meat were also very good and added the crunch it needed. However, I think the meat was drier than what I would prefer and made eating the entire dish more of a trial than I would have liked it to be.

Overall, it was a nice meal and a great place to have large parties. The waiters were very attentive and gave us a huge platter of brownies at the end. I'd love to come by and give some of the other food on the menu a chance!

  4. B4 has the most amazing brunch. My experience here has always been great. The restaurant is spacious and takes reservations so B4 is good for large groups and you don't have to wait 1-2 hours for brunch like other popular brunch spots in NYC. Busy atmosphere but not too overwhelming. Ambiance is cozy and casual with cute décor.

Their chicken and waffles is AMAZING ($14). The fried chicken is juicy and drenched in delicious gravy over a sweet potato waffle. You'll sure be stuffed by the end of it. The price is so reasonable for the amount of food you get.

The brunch menu also offers a good variety of egg dishes – Omelettes ($13), Quiche ($12), Farmers Breakfast with eggs, bacon, and hash ($12), and Eggs Benedict ($16). Don't forget to also try their appetizers – Sticky Buns ($6) or bread basket ($12). If you have a sweet tooth, they offer French toast ($12) and pancakes ($10-$12). As you can see – prices here are so reasonable!

If you're not into the "unlimited drinks" for boozy brunch and just want one or two drink – B4 also offers brunch cocktails for only $4 or $5. What a steal! I usually order a Bellini or Mimosas ($4).

This is my new favorite place for brunch. You can't go wrong with any of their items here! I still dream about their chicken and waffles. Comfort food at its finest!

  5. Had amazing service & delicious food at B4!

We were a group of 12 dining in for brunch on a super sunny September Sunday! A bunch of us ordered the fried chicken & waffles and I attempted to be healthy by ordering the quiche w. baby greens and then utterly & completely offsetting that by ordering a side of tater tots. How could I not when they have multiple exclamation points next to it on the menu?! We also ordered several rounds of their $4 mimosas & bellinis/$5 bloody marys, which were great but served in a TINYYYY glass. Just so you are aware 🙂

The food came out pretty quickly and the winner of the day was def the chicken & waffles. My quiche was actually quite lackluster and kinda congealing at the top, which was not very pleasant to say the least. The tots tho – BOMBBBB. Huge portion, so def sharable between two, maybe three people! The 5 star for B4 comes in because one of our dishes came out considerably later than everyone else's. And to make up for it, B4 comped a huge donut dessert platter AND another side of those BOMBBBBB tots! I was also celebrating a belated birthday and they sent out an additional platter of the donuts as well! Our waiter was super patient with all our orders and pricewise was fair for brunch with drinks! Happy fan of B4!

  6. The chicken and sweet potato waffle with red eye sauce is amazing! The waffle was sweet but not too sweet and had the perfect balance between crispy and soft. The three huge pieces of fried chicken were crunchy and moist… Pretty good for white meat. The sauce was a savory explosion to my taste buds. In other words, this was the best chicken and waffle I have ever had. (Not exaggerating… Texted a bunch of friends that they had to come here for brunch immediately after leaving the restaurant.)

The sticky buns were pretty good. An order came with three smaller versions of cinnamon rolls.

The windows let in a lot of light. It's a very comfortable place to eat and drink.

The waiter was fantastic. He was very courteous and waited patiently instead of interrupting a conversation.

Can't wait to come back for dinner!

  7. The porkchop was okay – HUGE portion and was cooked perfectly (moist/tender). Could easily be split between 2 people. The first few bites were good because of the juicy texture, but it felt like something was missing. It could use some more seasoning as it was kind of bland… I didn't taste the "sweet yet tart" flavor other reviewers mentioned.

Staff was courteous and checked up on us from time to time to refill our waters and make sure everything was okay.

Be sure to try the Billionaire Bacon Brownie with Hazelnut Gelato for dessert. Bacon + melted chocolate = yum!

Overall, B4 is a safe spot for a big group dinner- plenty of seating and it didn't feel crowded.

  8. I was here yesterday for a friend's birthday brunch. I actually didn't order anything since I came from a Bridal Shower Brunch beforehand but I did taste some of the food. The bread basket was amazing but everything else was mediocre. Two of my friends ordered omelettes and the eggs were way overcooked on both. The chicken and waffles come with a super heavy sauce so, if you're not into thick sauces, I suggest you get it on the side. One of my friends ordered a side of bacon and it didn't seem crispy at all. This is definitely not a place I would return to try a full brunch.
