  1. Came here late night on a Friday night looking for something quick to pick up for dinner.  Shared a large Taro bubble tea, spicy beef noodles, and the teriyaki dumplings.

Bubble tea and noodles totally hit the spot, but could have done without the dumplings.  The kitchen closes before the restaurant does.. guess they stay open for the ice cream and bubble tea for later comers.  So as we were ordering our food, the kitchen was clearly shutting down and rushed our dumplings.  We didn't eat our food until we got back to the apartment to find that the majority of our dumplings weren't cooked all the way which seems like something that could have easily been avoided.  So points off there 🙁

Would return here to grab more tea and try the ice cream.  The decor was cute with all of the old school toy dispenser machines and chalkboard menu (although it was a little overwhelming when trying to decide between flavors, ended up just asking the employee what his favorite was and went with that.)

  2. This review is only for the frozen shake bubble tea.  I stopped by here based upon Yelp reviews of bubble teas.  I order a small taro frozen shake with tapioca.  It tastes so good and definitely fixed my cravings.  I'm so glad it's only a few minute drive for me so no more driving to Jersey City, Edison, or NYC for bubble tea cravings.  Ok, well maybe just NYC, hehe.  I do notice their price had gone up from the listed menu on the blackboard.  They need to update the price advertised.  It's now $4.50 for a small frozen shake bubble drink, which is 16 ounces.  I registered for their punch card via email.  For each visit and spending of more than $5, I'd get a star punched on the card and after ten stars, it's redeemable for a free drink.  Since the registry is via email, each time I pay, I would have to give them my email account and I should receive and email each time a star is added.

They also serve wraps, buns and dumplings which  I passed since I came here after having dinner.  Maybe next time I'll have something off their food menu.  They also have assorted flavored gelato, which is a must try for next time.

The shop is small and it has one long wooden table and bench seatings.  There's many toy in gum ball machines against the right wall as soon as you walk in for 4 quarters =$1.  They also sell superhero figurines near by the cashier areas.

Parking is a little rough here.  There are other local businesses on the block so naturally people were looking and waiting for parking.  It's metered and all taken when I came which is around 7pm on Saturday so I suggest coming here off hours.

  3. Popped in here for a quick bite with a friend. It's a got a full wall of little vending machines, adorable. There's an ET figure that stares at you from the back of the kitchen which is both funny and scary, haha.

My friend and I ordered 3 things- Seasoned Fried, Shrimp Shumai and the Chicken Teriyaki Dumplings. One of them had to be good, right? ALL 3 WERE AMAZING! We got the Shumai and Dumplings steamed and they were just perfect. The dough, filling and sauces were spot on. Fries were excellent. Crisp and not greasy.

Can't wait to come here again.

Only down side was the front door that doesn't close on its own and it was FREEZING outside.

  4. Asked about customizing the milk option and was told they only use a "non-dairy creamer"  Ordered just a plain green tea bubble tea (did not require any mixing) and it was over $4 for a small! The bubbles were a good consistency but did not have any sweetness to it.  The green tea was actually pretty good but def not worth the price.

  5. This is good shop in Montclair if you like bubble teas. They have a good selection of favors and the place seems clean. They do not have a private lot just off street parking on a main road. They have other food offerings but we did not try the food. We ordered the bubble teas, I ordered the mango with the fruit jelly and it was decent. It cost around 5 bucks with the toppings like jelly or tapioca. You can order from their smoothie menu on the board or ask for your own flavors. The place is small with a long stretch table on the side. I will start coming here again for the bubble teas and smoothies and maybe will try the food in the future.

  6. Finally, a spot with ramen takeout!  The dumplings were a huge hit, especially the teriyaki chicken fried dumplings.  All four of us indulged in the malted chocolate shake while waiting on our dumplings and ramen, which featured cartooned tofu, eggs, onions and chicken.  It was perfectly seasoned.  The best kept secret has to be the fried chicken wings.  Wow.  I ordered a 10 pack, and it was not enough!

  7. Finally got a chance to stop by a few weekends ago and can say it is the best bubble tea spot in the area.  Add on the fact that they give options for less sugar is a definite plus. The tapioca pearls are fresh – not old and hardened like you find in other spots that are local.

Besides the drinks, they offer quite a few unique gelato options.  We picked the macapuno (coconut) with a waffle and was definitely happy about the choice.  Now I just need the damn weather in our area to warm up, so I can go back and enjoy their other flavors.

A small, fun location with the vending machines, charging station for your phones, toys and knickknacks for sale.  The only problem I saw with the location itself was the front door had issues closing and on the night we visited, was freezing outside and kept blowing open.  They need to get that fixed.

Last but not least, all the employees helping were great.  Did see the boss come in and berate his people.  Didn't seem like a great work environment for them the way he was treating them, but it didn't effect the service so maybe it was just an off night.

  8. This place definitely has a cool. trendy vibe to it. I could see hipsters swarming the place. But don't let that deter you! I haven't had bubble tea in a super long time because they just don't seem to sell them anywhere. But I have found a place!

Bubble teas are kind of sweet like milkshakes but thin like a juice and come in some interesting flavors. Maybe next time I'll be bold enough to try something really unique, but I got green tea chai. The tapioca beads are suprisingly fun to suck up through a straw.

I also got a wasabi wrap which definitely had that wasabi kick to it! It's a little on the small side, but it makes for a nice lunch. There was only one employee when I was there so it took a little time between him taking orders and making, but it was a nice afternoon stop. I was eyeing the gelato which looks great but I didn't want to go overboard with the treats. This is definitely a welcome find, as I've missed bubble tea and this area of Montclair seems like a good, cool place for this teahouse to be.
