  1. I'm pretty surprised this place has such terrible reviews, my food was delicious and at ~$8 a dish, you can't go wrong! The only thing I will note is that the staff really aren't the greatest. He misheard our order and then blamed us and said we pointed to the wrong thing. Well, I didn't point to anything, I verbally told you my order, you just heard wrong. Maybe you should write the orders down instead of trying to remember them in your head…

Lucky for them, the food was good and that was their saving grace. They don't want to be asked questions, they just want you to order and that's it. Now I know, hopefully my next trip here will be much smoother.

  2. After spending all day in the city, we were both exhausted, hungover (I was, anyway), and hungry.  We wanted something quick and cheap, so we stopped in here.

Foul mistake.  The manager (or owner) didn't even look at us.  He looked absolutely miserable as he took our orders, and ran his fingers through his hair like he could be doing something better with his time when we asked him a question.

The seafood Tom Yum noodle soup was the only redeeming factor.  Not even our entrees could help this…not-so-great rating.

I think I'm done with Thai food for awhile.

  3. Great Thai food + even better prices. This restaurant has a great try selection of dishes on the menu. The service was just okay. The food did came out pretty quick. It's a great spot for a quick lunch or perhaps dinner with some friends.

I ordered the Chili fish and the regular Chicken Curry with a bowl of rice. The fish is cooked whole and is lightly fried. The chili sauce was the perfect amount of spice and had a lot of flavor. I'm night a huge fan of Thai curry, as I felt like the sauce was a Tad but too sweet as and creamy for me. Nonetheless, it taste like authentic Thai curry. So if you're into curry and all that good stuff, I would recommend it. They also have many options of curry to choose from as well; as far as the meats, level of spice and so forth. Also, the Thai Ice Tea wasn't as good as know it should be..maybe it needed to be a tad bit sweeter.

  4. I came here to order takeout the other night and it was very disappointing. The food was great but the service was horrible. The lady who works at the desk taking my order was one of the rudest people you'll meet. She had a very nasty attitude taking my order and also now where near friendly. She had a very mean face and was very impatient. I kindly asked her if thetr was coconut rice but she shut me down right away saying NO!i looked over tge menu and noticed there was brown rice and chicken flavored rice. The most she could have done was offer that there are other options being that I didnr really want white rice. After ordering, I asked her how long it will take and she said 10 mins with the utmost displeasing attittude. Therefore, I went outside to wait. A few minutes later, I noticed that my order was ready and was on my way to walk back in. On my way in, the same rude lady was barging out the door with something and basically just had the "move out the hell out of my way" demeanor. She didn't even say excuse me or inform me that the order was ready. I really don't understand why she would be working here with this type of attitude. I felt so upset and not pleased with seeing her ever again if I had to eat here. I ordered the green curry chicken and my friend ordered the Massaman curry beef. The green curry had a nice hint of spiciness to it and the chicken was nice and tender. I really love green curry but when I tried the Massaman curry, I was hooked. The flavor was very strong with a hint of ketchup taste to it. It also had cashews and went really well with the rice. Definately would come back to eat but would probably not if that impudent lady is there. BTW she is a very short chubby woman.

  5. This place is more like a 2.75…but I'll round up for my pleasant experience here. It was another night in Flushing where one is hungry but one's partner can't really decided where to go…so both of you just decide to go somewhere new (but then again not).

Bangkok is one of those restaurants that you pass thousands of times…but never go in, because it's smack in the middle of hyped places that you go to during those thousands of times (i.e. Nan Xiang, Snowdays). I like the underdog to win sometimes, though, but I wouldn't say that Bangkok did exactly that.

Instead, we received hopeful Roti Canai that was just very oily in my opinion and (as an avid Tom Yum lover) a watered down Tom Yum Noodle Soup. However, if you're in the area and sick of Chinese food, do come here for that Red Curry. The small portion is $6.50 and it was not small at all. Needless to say, my partner's red curry became mine by the end of the night. Also, the fried crab rolls were pretty good too.

For a low key dine-out place, the service was great.

  6. Looks and taste authentic Thai food. We got the Thai ice tea, pad Thai and Thai fried rice. It was all yummy. The tea was soooooooooo good! Not all Waiter speak Chinese but every staff speaks English with no problem. Since this is the only Thai restaurant in flushing I say its pretty good and good pricing. Will come back to try more! Please don't leave flushing.

  7. This isn't the best Thai place in NYC (I still think Ayada is the best), but if you are in downtown Flushing, it isn't a bad choice. Come on now, beggars can't be choosers.

We were celebrating a family member's birthday and decided to get a variety of take-out dishes to enjoy at home.

I was the sole decision maker and this is what we ended up ordering:

Roti canai – I did not partake in this, but my family gobbled it all up at home. The roti isn't the best once it gets cold (you can heat it up a bit), so enjoy this dish while it is piping hot.

Tom Yum Noodle Soup with fried tofu pieces – They separate out the noodles and tofu from the soup base, but this dish was excellent, on-point and hit the spot on a very cold winter afternoon.

Mussel Casserole – the mussels were huge (looked like they were on steroids), but bigger, doesn't mean better or good quality (that's what she said). Mussels likely were frozen and the sauce wasn't that tasty. I recommend you pass on this dish.

Mango and sticky rice – What? They have this during the winter months in NYC? Score. No complaints here and just happy I could enjoy this solid dessert when it is frigid out.

Overall, a decent Thai spot, so if you're like a pregnant woman craving it, this place will get the job done. Otherwise if you can plan, I would suggest going to Ayada or Zabb Elee.

  8. This restaurant is small and not exactly easy on the eyes, but their food is great if you're ordering the curry dishes and service is friendly.
One of my main perks of the night was to find that the shrimp was de-veined. Definitely a huge plus in my book. Many restaurants are so lazy and don't bother to do that most of the time.
The tom yum soup here is one of the best that I have tried. Very flavorful and it definitely has a kick to it!
