  1. Love this place! I've had their many "coffee of the day" flavors and finally got to try their signature waffles! I had a waffle with bananas, strawberries and nutella, one big dish of deliciousness. The waffle was big and fluffy, no dry waffles here. The flavors I have had for their coffee are the coffee cake, white chocolatini, graham cracker and almond. It's a cute neighborhood spot, with adorable decor. The staff is friendly & always makes for a pleasant visit! I hope it's around for years to come!

  2. A very respectable variety of teas and some coffees makes for a nice selection while you chit chat or read or use a surface tablet (which comes with a lithium ion battery  now). One strange thing though is that after you've sniffed a tea sampler and figured out what you'd like to drink, you then have to locate the actual jar of tea that corresponds to that sampler on the shelf. Since the two are located in different places, you may not actually find it. Some just aren't there! Small annoyance but that's the only thing I didn't like.

The best seats are the two armchairs by the window. I also had a piece of mudcake which was okay.

Plenty of people stop by this place and it has the feel of a local, neighborhood cafe, with several patrons greeting the barista and each other by name. This place is fantastic!

  3. This has to be hands down the cutest little cafe on Staten Island. It is a decent sized place with cute decor all over. They have items for sale too. Beach  decor etc. Macroons also ! Yum! There's food and tons of coffee  and latte options for you to choose from. The staff is super sweet. This is my new spot !

  4. Im so happy i finnaly got a chance to visit this coffee house , So worth the trip from the other side of the island !!

All i had was the Coconut creme Frappe with an extra espresso shot and almond milk , vegan chocolate cookie and chocolate croissant but i saw the dishes others were eating and it all looked and smelled delicious!

Its a very small shop with maybe 8-10 tables or so but its a really nice and cozy set up,  i cant wait to come back with my girls because i know they'll go bananas for the amazing waffle options . From nutella to capt crunch to red velvet,  cmon you know you wanna try that red velvet waffle!!

Also the coffee and flavors are very interesting and creative,  ill probably try every flavor creations in a month lol

I wish they had a location near Huguenot but that could be dangerous for me lmao. Anyway, you guys Rock and please keep up the great work

  5. I LOVEEEE this place. Starbucks who?
    They sell:
-different types of coffees and teas.
-cute mugs or cute little coffee sleeves for your travel mugs or cups
    -cookies, jams, spreads, hot cocoa
-waffles in chocolate bananas strawberries and extra whip cream if that's how you like it ,smoothies, bagels/rolls, hummus
-flavors of the day from coffee to tea
    -takes credit now
-small sit down area with tables
-super helpful and friendly and they make sure your coffee is exactly the way you enjoy it ! Perfect coffee shop!

  6. This place is adorable! I wish Staten Island had more shops like this one.  Every item I have tried has been great. The peanut butter iced coffee is delicious.  The smoothies are so tasty and made with fresh ingredients.  It isn't one of those smoothies where they add powders and sugars.  It actually appears to be healthy.  The staff is always friendly and accommodating.  Parking can be rough, but it's worth it! Rock on Staten Island.

  7. Before entering this shop (or reading Yelp reviews), I expected Beans and Leaves to be a chainy Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf styled place.  FALSE!  A charming setting coupled with phenomenal personalities and reasonable prices made this a place I will happily visit again.

Decorated like a country kitchen, there are plenty of small tables that accommodate solo diners, couples, or that can be pushed together for larger groups.  Tables along the walls have outlets available (a big win for me since cafes and coffee shops = work space for me).

I ordered a coffee with milk and a slice of carrot cake loaf.  The coffee was rich and delicious.  They have great clear glass mugs that give you a generous servings… and they even offered me a refill!  GASP!  In addition to standard regular and decaf, there is a large variety of flavored coffees, as well as requisite cappuccino and latte style drinks.

The carrot loaf was delicious, though not as carroty as I typically like.  More like a regular pound cake with a bit of carrot and some walnuts.  I was told the pound cakes are made with yogurt which reduces some of the fat and oil while preserving the richness.  I don't know if they lied or are genius, but it tasted like Paula Deen had a hand in the recipe.  I didn't regret a single bite.  Coffee + a slice of this goodness came to $3 and change.  Yes you heard that right.  Coffee with an offer for a refill + snack for under $5.  Sold.

The staff was exceptionally wonderful.  Prompt attentive service.  Willing to make recommendations.  Ready to pose for Yelp pictures.  I couldn't love them more.  A few of us compared notes of NYC coffee shops as well which was fun.

I'll certainly be back.  You should go too.

  8. I've always wanted to come to this famous Staten Island eatery. Everybody and their grandmama in the island has visit this cute coffee shop at least once.  I came with my fellow yelper and I was surprised that they have vegan pastries. I order the strawberry bubble tea and I wasnt impressed. It had no taste and not sweet at all. But then again! Its not their speciality so I won't be too harsh on them. But my friend's frap with almond milk was amazing. I should of stole it from him lol. NOT FAIR!!! I also order a vegan gluten free chocolate chip cookie and it was delish. The staff were super sweet and I would definitely come back to try other vegan pastries and drinks.

    Tips
    1. Public Transportation. The s48 runs by this establishment.
    2. Parking. This can be tricky. Since its a busy avenue with parking meters. Your best bet is to park on the side streets.
    3. The place is small with about 6-10 tables. But its warm and cozy.
    4. Ask for a menu. They have a chalkboard with the different kind of coffees but not all the items were on the menu. Luckily I checked the menu on yelp before coming here.
    5. Kindly tip the staff!
    6. Vegan pastries on the North Shore of the Island yay!
    7. Enjoy!
