  1. After time and time again of passing this place by, I finally stopped in to see what the charmingly gruff-looking dudes in the window have to offer.

I opted for the salad sampler to-go so I could try a bit of everything. At $10, it's a decent amount of food, enough for two or to save half for the next day's lunch. The accompanying pita is some of the best I've had — thick and chewy and hot off the presses. The babaganouj and the chickpea salad were also top-notch. But I was less than impressed with the fava beans and found the tabouleh almost inedible (so dry, so bland).

While I wouldn't go out of my way for this spot, I'll pop by again if in the area and craving that damn pita. It's going to haunt my dreams, I know it.

  2. Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing Fresh pita bread.  If you are the downtown/cobble hill brooklyn area and craving some cheap mediterranean food I suggest coming here.

It seemed that everyone around us was ordering the pizza?  I was a bit skeptical because really, pizza at a middle eastern restaurant? — didnt make sense to me but MAN was I wrong.  The pizza is made on super fresh pita bread, I ordered the garlic and it was AMAZING.  I would come back just for this… no joke. SO. Tasty.  Next we had the falafel chicken sandwiches which were HUGE, almost a foot long no joke here either.  The falafel tasted super fresh, I only wish they gave us a few sauces on the side for it but i'm just a sauce kind of person.

Anyway if you're in the area go grab a pita pizza for shooooo.

  3. Wow, I just had the BEST PITA bread of my life! It's so soft, warm, and chewy here.. I've never had anything like it. Is this how pita bread is supposed to taste?? I feel like I've been deceived all my life. I ordered the lamb plate and it was a decent portion so I couldn't even finish it after eating a whole pita. The shaved lamb was very flavorful and tender. I also tried their chicken, and it was also delicious. They put a lot of peppery spices onto their meat. The plate also comes with a big serving of light and authentic hummus. Just a fantastic meal at an affordable price.

Service can be a bit slow, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. But other than that, would definitely come again or order delivery.

    Also beware, it's cash only!

  4. We visited Bedouin Tent after I'd walked by it at least 50 times in the last year and always assumed it was a quick take out place and not an actual restaurant. (It does have take out too, at the front counter, but there's a seating area and back patio to dine in at the rear). It's a small restaurant but people seemed to move in and out quickly that the wait was never too long. Service was great and quick. The pitas were very very fresh and are a must-try, not matter what you get. You can easily add one on for $1. I enjoyed the lamb sandwich which was huge and came with lettuce, tomato, and their own homemade mayo–very tasty and fresh. My dining partner tried the lamb pizza which was interesting–but in a good way! Had lots of seasonings and maybe even a sweet one like cinnamon or something? Tasty nonetheless. Soups looked really good, as did the falafel and hummus plates so perhaps we will try those next time!

  5. came here for a lunch takeout. the place is reasonability priced. I got the chicken plate which was very filling. the chicken was cooked well and flavorful. the salad made me feel a little healthy and the hummus was normal. I loved that the pita was freshly made so it was nice and hot and tasted wonderful. Definitely some of the best pita I've had! I don't think i'll be getting the plate again since was a little too much food for a lunch. i don't really want to food coma at work and fall asleep ]: but for around 11$ what a good deal.

I didn't get any falafel but i'll definitely be back for it. and i'll most likely get a sandwich since it'll have everything my heart desires without putting me into a food coma at work!

one thing to note though. i did try and ask for falafel on the side and basically the guy told me my total will be 15ish that TWO falafels will be 4$… that is almost the price of a falafel sandwich so i decided against that lol

  6. Tasty, inexpensive Mediterranean food. I had the falafel platter and shared a spinach pie, plus had some bites of the lamb platter. I thought the falafel and the spinach pie were a little dry, but otherwise everything was great. Certainly the right price!

  7. I came here after the blizzard. The restaurant was cold and I had to wear my jacket. The backround music I found annoying at times because it sounded like a man whining in Arabic with instruments in the backround. The food, well what can I say.. I had tbe lamb merguez as an entree. They brought it out 5 minutes after I ordered it. The only hot thing I got was the pita bread which was made fresh. Everything else was obviously premade and cold (my lamb). I had the same dish at the Bedawi Cafe.. It was much better. I didn't finish the lamb cause honestly it wasn't very good and cold. The Hummus and salad were good.. but hard to go wrong with that. I had semolina cake for dessert. It was tasteless except the honey flavor it had. I need something more exciting than that. The Turkish Cafe again have had better elsewhere.. it was VERY bitter and I put lots of sugar inside. The waiter was nice though he agrued with me when I told him that I wanted to get a salad before the meal. He said let me bring your food and then you can decide if you want more. Honestly I was in the mood to try some authentic salads but when he said that I just said to myself forget it. The restaurant is clean but better looking in the back area where we sit than in the front where you first walk in. One more thing they DON'T accept credit cards.. HATE THAT!!

  8. Yum!  Large portions!  Ordered the garlic bread which is very strong on garlic but worth it!  I also had beet salad which came steamed and flavored with some spice that is not bad at all. My friend has the dolmades (grape leaves with rice) and the chicken ouzi.  Ouzi is a chicken and rice dish with almonds and raisins wrapped in phyllo dough with yogurt sauce on the side.  I had the falafel platter and loomi.  Loomi is a middle Eastern beverage made of sun-dried tomato. It was strong and soothing for my sore throat.  Overall, we had a pleasant time!
