Blue Bay Diner

“This is probably my second favorite diner in Queens (since most of the diners around me closed down) after Bayside Diner.”

“Like most diners the menu is huge, but what sets them a part from their counterparts is their quality food and portion size.”

“I haven't made a dent in the menu, but I have tried a variety and my favorite by far is the Cheeseburger Duluxe.”

  1. Decent diner, the people there are super friendly which was a HUGE plus. I ordered the Turkey triple Decker dish, and it was very filling. The portions are very well. MANY things on the menu to choose from, I love the variety. Would love to come back another day and perhaps try something new as well.

  2. Classic old diner! I Came here on Sunday and I really liked the old school diner feel. They had music playing in the backround and I felt like I was in a 1960's movie. Awesome. The food was good, its typical diner food, so you really cant go wrong. And the portions are big so come with an appetite.

  3. A neighborhood staple in the Bayside area of Queens. Your typical american diner, with the massive menu and specials all over the place. One thing to note is the portions are freaking huge, you WILL have leftovers.

Shares a parking lot with a supermarket and other stores, so parking is usually easy.

  4. Almost always parking in the lot. The portions are huge here, and prices are average for a diner. Nothing amazing to point out, but definitely a decent place to go eat if everyone is indecisive and not craving anything in particular. I had low fat vanilla yogurt with granola.

  5. Crowded on a Sunday night. I had a hamburger deluxe which was perfect. Fast service, accommodating waiter when we asked for four separate checks. No complaints here.  Just note some entree prices pushing past $30. Kinda pricey for a diner. My burger plate cost $18+ incl tax/tip.

  6. Came here for lunch today.
    Service was fast and efficient.
I had the Mediteranean Salad, my friend had the turkey burger.
    Food was good.

  7. Came here on New Years day and they were packed, not sure what it's like normally but they did a decent job given the amount of people waiting.

The food is typical diner food and you can get all the standards from various omelette and egg dishes through the triple decker sandwiches and platters.

Service was a little absent minded, but I attribute that to the amount of tables rotating through.

Overall it's a pretty decent diner with ample parking and a wide assortment.

  8. So before getting on the road we stopped in to Blue Bay for a quick breakfast.

Holy cow was this place busy, that being said, we did get seated immediately.
Lewis was our waiter and he was just super awesome with our order from start to finish.

So the following is what we ordered.
Two over easy eggs/bacon with two orders of English Muffins toasted well – I was told the eggs were perfect and the muffins were crispy but not burnt.
Ham and cheese omelet well done -G said it was just to his liking.
Thick challah french toast/crispy bacon and a side of berries- the french toast had a nice caramelized top and bottom, with a cooked but still a custard tasting interior. The berries were fresh and sweet.

Probably the big negative here is how close the tables are to each other. Breakfast here is almost always a winner.
Lewis is a star waiter for sure. Ask if you can sit in his section. (Not related to Lewis just think he gives great customer service)
