  1. I'm thinking of moving closer to here, but actually I don't live that far so I will just make heavier in my rotation.    My Green Eggs and Ham sandwich…scrambled eggs, cheese  with pesto and Italian Ham (I think)  was a hangover helper.
My pork shoulder sandwich was a smart move for later in the day.
I found the service to be on point. Frankly, the way Joe calls out your order to his team was exactly how I think things should be done.   No questions if the order is right and it was indicative of a well planned system and team.   I waited less than 5 minutes for my order and i loved every bite.   No you can't come with me and no I'm not sharing my sandwich, if you wanna try 2 , you buy 2 and I may buy 3!

  2. Prepared foods 4 stars.  Everything tasted home made as if I had an italian nonna named Joe growing up.  This is basically real food youve eaten all your life so nothings unfamiliar and all tastes pretty good.  I like how he responds to certain negative reviews and puts them in check with a funny sarcastic response insteada paying to rid the negative review.  Therefore, I think this is passion fueled food.
So based on yelp recomendations, I went wif the LEMON CHICKEN(10.00? By weight).  Said no to cutting it in half for me..I  guess they ran outta knives or something but no biggie.  Check facebook for frequent updates on how many they have left.

Got delivery.  Fast, Id say within 25 mins.

Whole lemon chickn stuffed w/garlic, lemon  n herbs was moist and did not dissapoint. Flava in every bite.

Lg broc. rabe (not bitter at all)$10 lb is kinda steep, though this may be their universal side dish price.

Grilled charred green beans…is this the brooklyn italian way to make them??  The beans have an addictive grilled/blackened char/burnt flavor component that is strangely delicious.   Makes me wanna try out a vegetarian grill place…..Or just come here.

Got the pork tenderloin last time, which was pretty good and succulent when microwaved.

Bet their sandwiches are awesome but its just speculation at the moment…..brb

  3. What can I say about Brancaccio's food shop… They are by the best Italian American sandwich shop in NY. Joe Brancaccio the shops owner is a super nice and hospitable guy. When you walk through the door you are greeted by Joe. I love the real NY Italian flavor. He jams out to old school hip hop which makes me feel at home. Everything in the shop is Joe's creations and everything delicious and very flavorful. Joe runs a nice and clean operation on Ft. Hamilton parkway in the heart of Windsor Terrace. I highly recommend Brancaccio's for a great sandwich. His pasta salads are A1.
Give Brancaccio's a try I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

  4. Brooklyn Sandwich Tour. Stop #1. (A three part series)

While breaking each others balls and having an in depth conversation about sneakers, my buddy Mike placed our order with Joe (the owner).  I went with the Complex (Eggs, Ricotta, Broccoli Rabe, Caponata) and Mike grabbed a Green Eggs and Ham (Pesto Eggs and Prosciutto).  From a flavor standpoint, this was the best sandwich I ate on the tour (see other reviews).  Washed it down with a Manhattan special, and took a Chicken and Artichoke hero with us, which my wife devoured later that night.

I posted Brancaccio's on my Snapchat and was immediately inundated by messages from jealous friends.  Joe certainly has a reputation for making some dope food.

Read someone's review that the owner is a "dick" that plays "vulgar hip hop music"… LMAO… I suppose this is what happens when butthurt hipsters move into Brooklyn.  I thought he had a great sense of humor and was very friendly.  And did I mention he makes DOPE food.  Five stars.

  5. Delicious deli sandwiches and super friendly owner.

Went here for breakfast on our last day in NYC. The sandwiches all sounded so delicious it was almost impossible to choose. I settled for a roasted veg and ricotta baguette, and the meat magnet went for roast pork with gherkins and some other sandwich meat, ham maybe? Both were delicious. The roasted veg was sliced thick, which made it really juicy and yum, and the pork was so succulent. We had a coffee soda with it, which was strangely satisfying. The owner was the one taking orders, and was super friendly, he didn't try to rush us, and was even unbelievably polite to the girl who came after us and insisted that he choose a sandwich for her. Seriously, you're 30, choose your own sandwich. Sir, you have the patience of a saint.

  6. When ever I visit my sister and her family a must have every trip is a visit to Brancaccio's for a roasted chicken.  It is simply divine, stuffed with garlic and herbs and wrapped in foil for consumption back at the apartment.  It is the best roasted chicken we have had, and thus why I have to order one every time I go to Brooklyn.

    Prices are very fair also.

  7. I'm not sure how to react when I ask the cashier, "Do you have a recommendation for a sandwich" and the cashier responds, "All of them, my name is on the door." Is he proud of his unique and tasty sandwiches? Is he being arrogant about his ability to perfectly toast his bread and insert meats, cheeses, vegetables, and sauces in such a way that all the flavors blend together perfectly?

It doesn't matter, because his sandwiches really are the best. We got a "breakfast" sandwich (just meaning it had egg) with perfectly melted fontina cheese and prosciutto and a BLT (the L being replaced by a well cooked broccoli rabe). Both were excellent. I wish this store were in my neighborhood; I would go everyday.

We also got their prepared dish made out of a pasta similar in shape to Israeli Couscous, but nuttier in taste. Very delicious!

  8. This is my kind of place.

It's a small space with a hard-working staff that does one thing: make good food. There's no pretension, no extraneous ornamentation, no bullshit. Everything is out in the open, because they've got nothing to hide, and it's like a well-oiled machine back there. Everyone is doing something useful from slicing meatloaf to baking eggplant to roasting vegetables to yelling out, "What's the bread crumb situation?!"* They are so busy I almost feel a little lucky that they stop and take the time to make me delicious sandwiches.

The man behind it all, Joe, is going to be behind the counter when you walk in. He's happy to shoot the shit with you when the place is empty, but when there's a line don't waste everyone's time. Some might mistake his business-like attitude for rudeness, but the man is just trying to run a business. And as far as I can tell, he's running it the right way.**

There's an extensive list of sandwiches (no cutesy names, just ingredients listed), and a solid list of prepared food for you to grab and go. So far, everything I've tasted is excellent. I once asked Joe which he would recommend between two sandwiches, and he told me that it's his menu. Nothing goes on it without him loving it. So just go with your gut. You know what you like, and if Brancaccio's has something you're into, I bet you're gonna love it. Personally, I'm a big fan of the meatball hero, the stuffed chicken breast, the farro beet salad, and anything with ricotta and/or broccoli rabe.

Basically, the food is good. The music is also good. Brancaccio's is just good. Go.

*Incidentally, The Bread Crumb Situation is the name of my new band.
**As evidenced by his comments on reviews here, I've discovered that (1) he's hilarious and willing to tell people they are better off at Subway, and (2) he treats his staff right. They get health insurance and paid vacation/personal days/holidays, which is better than most employees in the food service world. Good on ya, Joe.
