  1. I've only ever lived in the west village since I arrived in the US, I often wonder what it was like in days gone by, before it was gentrified, before every guy had a eurotrash watch, and every girl felt that gym leggings were acceptable street wear….and everyone had a job connected to social media that takes half an hour to explain….

Well, if like me, you're wondering the same then I'd direct you to the Bus Stop Cafe…it's like a little throwback in time, and none the worse for it….it's a sweetly gentle place of older 'OG'west village couples having their dinner in peace and quiet – I've been here loads of times and never left unhappy or not fed well, I really like it.

  2. While waiting 2+ hours for a table at The Spotted Pig, we ventured here to get our food and drinks on. I am so glad we did!

Not only did they accommodate all twelve of us nicely, they actually gave us all SEPARATE CHECKS, without any complaints! That is an unheard of miracle in the city and truly, I will never forget this place because of that. This place will always remain the place that "gave us all separate checks…with an amazing attitude."

The service was friendly, efficient and helpful. The seating and decor was cozy and cute. As for the food, I only tried their calamari but it was very crispy and delicious. And what a large portion for only an $8 appetizer – I had to ask others to help me eat it and that's a first!

For drinks, I recommend their sangria which has a smoothie-like texture and is on the sweet side.

  3. ***Great selection of food, Quick service***

Came here on the whim for a late lunch. Quick service, delicious food, good portions. I would recommend it!

  4. Great breakfast good at great prices. Two eggs with corned beef hash (home made not like a Hornel can) $6.50 with home fries and wheat toast. Eggs were perfect, home fries were cubed and crispy with a hint of rosemary. Great service. Egg sandwich with sun dried tomatoes on a croissant was equally delicious and inexpensive.

  5. This was a great little stop for lunch – good value, fresh healthy options.  New York is always has the rep of super expensive food, frankly I find that it's probably cheaper than back home – for sure certainly not more.  Think the two of us ate a nice lunch for $20 plus tip

  6. Great place, great menu and amazing service. Stopped by this morning for the first time. Food was tasty, fresh, reasonably priced and decent proportions.

  7. After the nasty manager at White Horse refused us service because my pet bird was sitting in her cage outside of White Horse property on a public sidewalk, we ambled two blocks up to Bus Stop and scored a table outside withou any bird problems. We also had delightful Cobb salads for lunch. I recommend this place highly. Oh, and their home fries looked wonderful on the next table.

  8. It's really a diner that's called a cafe, but they hv better than your average diner food!

Got a grilled vegetable sandwich with focaccia and it was pretty good.

Service is a little slow ..they can definitely improve on that !
