  1. Although it has become almost impossible to get in and get a table at Buvette (thanks to guidebooks and Yelp! – hehe), it is totally worth the wait for breakfast or lunch. I have never been to this establishment for dinner.

Consistently yummy and innovative food. I love their egg dishes, the toasts, and of course Croque Monsieur and the Waffle.

This location has a great decor and vibe too. The back of the restaurant seems to be quieter than the front half. You could also sit at the bar and eat.

Although they might quote you 30 min, in many instances it was a much shorter wait for me and my spouse. Given that, I say, if the bench right next to the door is empty, rest your tush and be patient.

  2. I'll start by saying the food was good; it was not abundant.

Dropped by on a Friday morning for breakfast starving looking for a good Croque Madame ($16). I found one here at Buvette! The bread was perfectly crunchy (not quite crostini, which is a good thing), the egg outside perfectly cooked, and the ham and cheese being good and salty. My only qualm is it lasted like four bites.

This may just be a cultural difference, but if I pay as much as I did, I expect a decent sandwich that'll fill me up. The taste of the food was very good but I left hungry for the workday which did upset me a bit. Some tables are also very small–particularly the ones by the stairs–and there are seemingly misplaced rugs that look a bit dirty.

  3. Bestie & I made our way back to Buvette for a Friday night nightcap – AKA two cappuccinos and a chocolate mousse to share.  Besides the fact that they know how to make a good capp, their chocolate mousse is incredible!  I can't say I've had much chocolate mousse in my day, but this version is definitely denser than what you'd expect it to be like.  It is so rich and velvety in flavor and texture; it pairs wonderfully with the light, fluffy whipped cream.  The perfect chocolate dessert pour deux!

  4. Just went this morning right when they opened. Very cute interior and staff attentive. Note: everything is small! Small tables, space between tables, plates, utensils. Be careful going between tables! I was very aware of my surroundings when squeezing by the tables and trying very hard not to knock anything over lol

I ordered the smoked salmon steamed egg (good and filling though looks small! had a lot of salmon and capers were surprisingly tasty, considering I normally pass on capers when I order anything lox-styled). Also had the cafe au last — came with cute foam art on top and kept my morning going strong (still going 5 hours later).

This place is more of a splurge for me but it's cute and worth checking out! And the place was packed by the time I left at 9 so try coming early friends, no one likes waiting long lines for food.

  5. Another visit and just as good as ever……it is an all round joy to visit this place.

A truly professional enterprise with a finessed style which consistently turns out great food. The two of us enjoyed the 'eggs prosciutto' and the 'Waffle'…. The orange juice is always so fresh and the coffees are really great. We had a cappuccino and a Macchiato.

I have a rich love for the total experience you get here. Simply wonderful…….

  6. This place is TINY. My friend and I went at 11:00 for brunch and there was a bit of a wait, but not too bad. We got two seats at the bar. The chairs were small and wobbly. Everyone was on top of each other.

I had an Americana and the Croque Madame. The coffee and food was great – came to about $25 each with tip, so pretty standard. Service was also friendly and fast.

The only reasons I did not like this place and would not come back?
    – Too small and crowded!
    – Felt like I was in a doll house
    – Tiny plates, cups and silverware (hence the doll house feel)

  7. Came here with a friend and her boyfriend on Friday night, quite early (maybe around 6:30) and there was no wait, which was great. The space is very cozy, cute and rustic. The highlight of the meal by far was the charcuterie – we tried three different pates, all of which were phenomenal. In retrospect, we wish we had just ordered more of these to make a meal! We also ordered octopus salad (delicious), tomato salad (delicious), carrots (fine), and coq au vin (delicious). Nice atmosphere and a cute spot. Would be good for a date.

  8. Lots of cheesy goodness to be found here. I had the croque forestier and some of my friend's whitefish spread and toasts. We also shared some tasty Brie. I want to return for brunch!
