  1. I've only tried their red velvet latte and honey toast, but that's all I need whenever I go there to study with friends! It's a great study spot and the lack of wifi forces me to focus more.

  2. Honey toast was pretty good, but they did not have mugs to stay, which was weird, and their latte art barista quit! So you shouldn't come here and expect special lattes.

  3. Typical cafe with very modern and casual decor. Great place to sit back and relax, or even to study.

Ordered the affogato, as well as the pineapple ice cream and both were equally good.

    Overall, recommended.

  4. I came here for the Black Label Donuts Pop Up Event during the weekend, and I enjoyed my café experience. It has the entrance that a hole-in-the-wall business would since it's a rather small and modest one.

The service was on-point: I appreciated that the cashier, who also made my hot tea, was very receptive when  I asked her to put some cold water into my tea and for a plastic fork and knife for my donut. My tea came out quickly after several minutes.

Cafe de Cupping isn't cramped, but it didn't strike me as a spacious place either, since nearly all of the tables were filled on that Saturday afternoon. It can seat about 20 people or so.

Even though its weekend no wi-fi policy might annoy some folks, I personally like that they're "going analog" (in the café's words) by shutting off internet access to encourage us to talk to each other, read a book, and overall be more present in their space.

There are only two outlets in this cafe anyway, so anyone who visits here will enjoy the cafe by doing what it was designed for people to do: go old school by interacting with each other or doing something away from a screen.

I'd definitely come back here again to try their other drinks and pastries. It's a great rainy/overcast day spot to read or catch up with a friend.

  5. My friend who likes cafe hopping(he's one of those people with hipster-ish Instagram feeds) suggested this place to me, so off to Cafe De Cupping we went.
This is an awesome cafe that's located in an area with relatively few foot traffic. However, the food is still pretty good!

The vibe is very chill and laid-back here. I really like the sharp and simple features of the place. It's not over the top, and a nice place to relax. My only complaint is that there are not enough wall outlets for charging. I was also annoyed at how the cashier failed to give me a receipt for my purchase, because the WiFi password was on it, and I could have saved some data had I found out sooner(not that it affects the rating of this review in anyway).

The menu is not very extensive, and the focus is mainly on the drinks and toasts. I like how the cashier at the front gave me time to decide what I want. After a few minutes of pondering, I decided to order the Hazelnut Affogato and Almond Croissant.

Have you ever heard of Affogato? In all my adventures throughout the city, not once have I ever come across such an exotic dessert as this. An Affogato is an Italian coffee-based dessert that consists of a gelato that is topped/drowned in a shot of espresso. The Hazelnut Affogato was amazing. Espresso was foamy and light. It was bitter(not sweetened at all), but you can adjust the sweetness with some sugar. The Hazelnut Truffle Gelato encased in a nutty shell, was soft, and offset the bitterness of the espresso. As you get to the center, you're in for a pleasant surprise: a core of syrupy chocolate. Molto bene!

The Almond Croissant was soft, flaky, and chewy. It was warmed in the microwave before being served atop a piece of parchment paper in a wooden basket. A nice accompaniment to my little cup of dessert, hehe.

It's unfortunate that this place is so far from Main Street. I would stop by here often for a quick drink or snack. Ironically, I like that the location doesn't have too many people= more seating + less bothersome people + more chill. (:

  6. Came here with my bro after lunch at Nan Xiang! We got here a little before 3 on a weekday and there were plenty of seats available. It's a really nice cafe with cute tables and chairs. Definitely seems like a great place to just chill or chat with a friend over a cup of coffee. The lighting isn't too dim and the music was pretty good (mainly mainstream pop music) and not too loud. The cashiers were also very nice and we got our drinks/food very quickly. We got:

Honey bread- The dessert that attracted me to this place and I found it to be absolutely delicious! The bread was crispy on the outside and chewy/soft on the inside, which is the absolute perfect texture! The honey drizzle on top was amazing; not too sweet while providing a very delectable flavor to the bread. The whipped cream on top usually ruins the bread but the one here was great because it wasn't too heavy and actually had a taste that was reminiscent of vanilla ice cream! This honey bread was way better than the one at Caffeine Fix and understandably so since Cafe de Cupping is the original creator of the honey bread.
Red velvet latte- My initial reaction after the first sip was sugar overload! But the more I drank it, the more I got accustomed to the red velvet flavor and it ended up being alright. It really does taste like a red velvet cupcake in coffee form so if you're into red velvet, definitely give this drink a try.

After having tried all of the cafes on Northern Blvd, I would say my favorite is either Cafe Bench or Cafe de Cupping. While Cafe Bench has more options in terms of food/desserts, Cafe de Cupping provides a great environment to kick back and relax with friends while also offering a wide array of delicious drinks. Bring good company, order the honey bread, and you will have a wonderful experience, just like I did today 🙂

  7. This is a Starbucks type cafe located in the Flushing section of Northern Blvd.  There are a variety of drinks, plus honey toast, which I thought was quite good.  But not much else other than that.  It's a nice place to sit for a while.  The atmosphere was pleasant.  However it's not very large, so it can get crowded rather quickly.  I definitely would not mind stopping by here again one day.

  8. It's a cute cafe. The prices are almost Starbucks-expensive, but it's worth being here than trapped in a noisy corporate place like that. It can get crowded sometimes, but seats for 2 people aren't too difficult to come by. Like almost all other places, they put way too much ice in their iced drinks unless you request otherwise- so don't forget to.
