  1. Visit Date: February 11, 2016

February 11 was a bleh food day for me unfortunately. I was looking to have lunch after going to Bloomingdale's before I walked into the theatre for a matinee performance of phantom of the opera. I got really excited for this french cafe. I almost didn't go in because of the prices but I decided to try it.

The atmosphere was pretty awesome, it really was as if I had walked back into a Paris cafe. The decorators and wait staff nailed that completely. The wait staff was also very friendly.

But my food was just so so. I had the spinach & goat cheese crepe. The goat cheese was runny and the spinach was very bland. I was expecting to taste wonderful french food and was sorely disappointed.

I would say come here for a coffee, maybe a dessert but skip dining here for food. Since I didn't have coffee here or a dessert I'm not sure how good or bad either of these options are.

  2. What a nice place to eat and hang out! It's so close to theater district so you can grab a quick bite before or after your show. We ordered brunch special that comes with a drink. A lot to choose from. It is a French spot with a great ambiance.

  3. This mid-town restaurant is the perfect out of town place to bring people. I usually don't venture to this area of the city.  It had a nice bistro interior and comfortable tables. The service was good and the variety of French cuisine should satisfy any picky eaters. Like anything in this area I think pricewise was a bit high. An $18 chicken club sandwich is a bit of extortion but hey it all about location, location, location.

  4. If you need a pre-theater dinner, this is a good pick for its location, size, and menu. They're a well-oiled machine when it comes to customers w/theater tickets–the waiter asked up front if we had a show, and made sure we got our food and bill on time. Good for one person or groups–nice bar and decent tables. The menus has pre-fixe and a good selection of sandwiches, crepes (which others have told me are terrific), appetizers and wine. Salmon was very nice, cooked well, with small yet simple sides. Great fries. Dessert was OK–would skip it next time. I like the atmosphere, the service is a drop better than the food, which is pretty good to begin with. It IS a bit noisy, because it is big, but if you are not sensitive about that, check it out.

  5. Open space and great atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant is very Parisian.  The menu of the brunch was limited but the food was outstanding. I ordered the pre-fixed lunch which had appetizers, entree and dessert for $25. It wasn't too busy which was a perfect spot for a girls lunch out.  Definitely come to this spot for a quiet relaxing meal.

  6. The dining room is gorgeous and the breakfast menu has some nice options.  I would come here again because the food is good and the environment is absolutely beautiful.
One of the diners in our party said the latte was not good at all.

  7. We had a nice dinner at this cute and fancy 'lil French joint!

I had the pate for an appetizer and please do get the mustard condiment to go with. I think they should just serve this rather than not serve it. I'm not sure why the waiter asked if I wanted it to my friend (while I was in the restroom). It would've made sense just to leave it there for me and let me decide. The waiter was decent, but a little off.

The beef tartare was my choice for dinner. It was simple, lightly seasoned and very nice. The portion size was fantastic! I tried so hard to kill it all because I feel its wrong to waste meat and I just about got there, but fell a little short. This was probably the first time ever that I haven't finished my raw beef.
It came with fries and I don't know what these people do to them, but they were probably  some of the best fries I've had!

We came after seeing a show so it was a bit later and there was plenty of room in the place to serve more people! The price is medium to high, depending.

Consider this if you are looking to eat after a show at the Belasco Theater!

  8. My quick bite before the theater was wonderful – I irderes the crepe with shrimp jambalaya.  Alright the rice was good, I did not expect it inside my crepe.  That was disappointing.  The value was good and the taste was good.  The crepe was excellent.

After the play my friends and I went for dessert crepes.  We ordered the Crepe Suzette.  Sauce was good but it was very disappointing.  The crepe did not seem fresh.  I wish the crepe was made fresh and the sauce flamed in front of us.  So maybe it does not have enough alcohol to flame it.  Not that I wanted it with alcohol. The alcohol burns out anyway.   It was too saucy and layered in folds.  It tasted like a soupy crepe cake.

The baguettes are great! They are served warm.

Hopefully they improve in the crepe Suzette.  I want it freshly made crepes and less sauce.
