  1. First experience was a 2 dozen oyster dinner, which had us return. Sadly, the second experience was a sorry Lobster dinner with one looking okay and the other a Grandpa Simpson, it was so dry, stringy and old. My Mr. ate it because he wanted me to have the nicer one, but the entire experience was off putting.
Friendly but slooow service. For some reason, the host cancelled my Open Table reservation so no points accrued there. Lame.

  2. My fellow mommy friends and I were in dire need of a Girls Night Out last week, and since Pelham has limited options to fit such a bill, Caffe Regatta seemed an obvious choice. When I arrived, two of my girlfriends were already seated, sipping a cosmo-like cocktail, the bartender's creation called the "Mo" (short for Monique, one of the owners). It went down a little too easily … sweet, but not syrupy – refreshing, but not watery. I had enough foresight to know that ordering more of those would get me in trouble, so I switched to Prosecco.

In the meantime, food was in order, which included the California Spinach Salad and sweet potato fries. The spinach salad came with warm goat cheese, crisp pears and walnuts in a lightly sweet lemon vinaigrette. I got shrimp added, which came out perfectly char grilled. The sweet potato fries were delicious, but be warned, they come saturated in a maple syrup-like sauce.

We closed the place down, which was fine by the staff – they didn't make us feel at all rushed and never neglected the table, even though we were so engrossed in conversation, we probably wouldn't have noticed, anyway.

Brunch is decent, but I prefer their dinner menu.

  3. Ok, so this is an update from my original review and I can honestly say that I will NEVER return here to dine again.

    OLD REVIEW:

I used to love this place.  I have recently become a pescaterian but have not eaten pork for over two decades.  My family and I returned to this restaurant because we have enjoyed prior dinners here.  I ordered what I thought was a pure seafood meal of crab-crusted cod.

I had a feeling there was pork in the meal but when I asked the server he told me that there was definitely no pork in the dish.  Later, I found out that there was pork in the dish and I didn't like the server's attitude towards me.

I have never been so irritated by a business.  What ever happened to customer service?  I intend to speak to the owner and have this issue rectified.  The outcome of this matter will determine my return.

    NEW REVIEW:

So, after days of trying to get in contact with the owner and bypassing that very RUDE server/manager or whatever he claimed to be, I finally got in contact with the owner, via email, who is surprisingly also a chef.  He was VERY apologetic and explained to me that it was a grave mistake on the part of the kitchen that my meal even HAD pork in it at all.  He said that the dish I ordered should never have had pork in it and he didn't understand why the server would have told me otherwise.

He apologized for the server's attitude towards me and my husband when we initially tried to get our money back for the entree and asked me how I would like to resolve the situation.  I requested a refund for my entree which he agreed was completely fair.  I went back to the restaurant and was met with the same server/manager, Shane (I later found out his name), and proceeded to give him the remains of my uneaten pork-laden meal.  He was unapologetic even though he clearly LIED to me to cover up the kitchen's mistake as well as his own when we told me before that, "We've always used pork in our crab cakes".  He trotted his little rude ass to the office and was made to give us our refund himself.

As smug as he seemed, I am sure he hasn't learned anything in regards to customer service and satisfaction.  Screw him and his empty dining room.

  4. Very cozy restaurant, with food that dances on the pallate, it is pretty pricey but hasn't disappointed.  I would say there is a little break in service as the server wasn't going to take our order , as insisted drinks have to be ordered first AND separately, and then took eons to return to take our order.. not too quick to come out of the kitchen either.. so the food and decor shines.. I would probably remove the large TV's over the bar or covered them during dinner service as that always is a distraction in small intimate setting such as this.

    The food items:
    buratta.. quite delicious
sautéed spinach – no complaints but no mind blown either
    lobster ravioli –
muscles – really great size for the price actually – i was most pleased with this dish albeit not enough bread served, small piece of flat bread me and my friend had to split, rather she kept and I took the left over dinner roll.
scallops – zero complaints – wonderful dish.
