  1. Coppelia is a cuban-themed diner on the border of the West Village and Chelsea.  Although it is a diner, it is not a grease pit.  It remands me of places I have been to in Miami.  It is my go to spot for a quick bite.

I have been many times, always around breakfast or brunch.  I usually get an omelette with chimichurri roasted potatoes and Cuban toast.  Everything is great – the eggs, the omelette ingredients, the potatoes – all excellent.  The service is very good, too. They are very attentive and friendly.

  2. Love this place. It's casual and has good music.
Open 24/7. The oxtail empanadas and veggie burger are may favorite items to get again and again. The veggie burger has cumin and is a different texture than u might find elsewhere. More like shredded, fresh veggies. The yucca fries are great pretty good too. Check in on Yelp or free ice tea.
Lucio and the staff are always attentive and friendly!

  3. Good food and good service. A small Cuban diner with big flavors. My gf and I came here at around 12 am on a weekday night after work. The place was busy even at that hour but we were seated quickly by a very welcoming staff.

We ordered the lomo Saltado and ropa de vieja. The lomo Saltado was awesome. Stir fry beef short ribs, red onions tomato, fries over sambal and rice. The short ribs were super tender and it all mixes with the rice and fries perfectly. This has to be the best thing on the menu. It was a little bit salty but the rice helps. The ropa vieja was shredded beef in a tomatoe based sauce with rice and beans. Juicy beef simmered till it falls apart.

Each dish we ordered was pack full of flavor. They make for really good drinking food. You definitely leave full and satisfied.

  4. Open 24/7 and very friendly service. The menu is very extensive to the point it's hard to decide what to order.

To begin, they gave us a plate of various baked goods: Brazilian cheese bread, palmiers, and blueberry muffins. They were all delicious.

On this visit I ordered the pan con lechon sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich included roasted pork, chicharron, pickled red onion and mojo. The sandwich was flavorful and I was pleasantly surprised the side salad was kale based.

My brother really enjoyed his passion fruit float and waffles.

My husband loves his cafe con Leche and Frita Cubana burger with a side of home fries. They were nice enough to allow the substitution.

Great place for getting a Cuban fix.

  5. loved my dinner at coppelia. the menu here is like mexican/ cuban/ peruvian fusion- very fun! i already am looking forward to my next visit.

my group of 3 arrived around 7:30 on a thurs night. unfortunately it was a hot and humid manahttan night, so inside was jammed as the outside patio area was too uncomfortable to dine at. we waited around 30 mins and grabbed some drinks at the bar. i ordered their take on a paloma. this really tasted different from other palomas i had. i didnt taste tequilla or grapefruit, but definitely a lot of mango? was a bit disappointed.

once we got sat we ordered the following-
NACHOS- loaded with super tender short rib, guac and velevety delicious queso, these were an excellent starter!
CHURRASCO- this skirt steak had tons of flavor and was cooked perfectly, the platains were also nice
ROPA VIEJA- loaded with flavor and a huge portion, i had enough of this for lunch the next day. also comes with rice and beans
POLLO A LA PLANCHA- this was the most unique dish we had and it was awesome. the chicken was grilled to perfection and the bed of quinoa it was served over had the most amazing flavor. we couldnt figure out what type of broth it had been cooked in, as it was sweet and tangy. so good.

guys the food here is great! service was on point and forgot to mention, check in for a free beverage. the desserts at this place also looked epic. seriously must get back here soon!

  6. Food was good, service was good, ambience is good.

It's basically a diner, but a little bit fancier and with amazing food. The atmosphere is pretty casual as well.

This is a place I have added to my "must come back" list.

  7. LOVED the food at Coppelia… Came on a Thursday night around 730pm with a party of 3, the wait was about 20 minutes.  The menu has a good variety of Cuban food and a lot of it seems on the healthy side which is always a plus for me !!!  The only thing i did not like was as we were waiting, 2 tables opened up but we were not seated.. kind of strange not sure what the delay was about..

We started with THE NACHOS… OH EM GEE… so good.  I'm serious, these are not your average nachos.  They had this tasty pulled pork, along with guac, and the bottom was lined with this delicious QUESO.. Order them STAT.

Next up, I loved the pollo ala plancha which was marinated chicken, spicy kale, served over quinoa.  The sauce it was served over was so delicious.  Many people were ordering the skirt stake so we decided to give it a try and was also very tasty especially with the plantains.

YUM I cannot wait to go back, and this place is open 24/7!!!!

  8. After last night, I am adding Coppelia to my list of top food places to go to in the city.  The service was excellent, the casual vibe as well, and the food was on point.  Wait time was zero, even though it looks pretty popular from what I see on Yelp and even though there were already lots of people inside.  The other highlight of Coppelia is that it is 24 hours.  I know where I'm going the next time I stay out too late.  You can also unlock a free iced tea or soda from Yelp, which I forgot.  Overall, I'd highly recommend this place to everyone who is reading this at the moment.
