  1. I love all of the Corner Bakery locations. This one on Madison has more seating. I find the selection of pastry is different at times. I feel comfortable going in getting something and having a seat. No one bothers you. I have found the service to be timely. No issues with the employees who do their job with no nonsense.
If you have seen my pictures of the other location you know I love the quality of the food. I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend.
Just don't be seeking this particular Corner Cafe/Bakery on a corner. It isn't!!

  2. If you happen upon this location try the plain brioche. It's pretty insane. The chocolate brioche is amazing as well. When I am in NYC I come here daily for the brioche. The staff is unfortunately unfriendly and the prices are very high. It is Madison Ave and there are few bakeries in the area. I have ordered catering through here and the catering manager is very friendly and professional.

  3. I was on the Upper East Side running errands and I was waiting on my bus to come and I had 10 minutes to get some coffee. So I had two choices and they were go to this place that was across the street from the bus stop or walk 2 blocks to get to a Starbucks and possibly miss my bus.  I selected going to Corner Cafe and Bakery.  From the outside it seemed pretty full and like a good choice.  I walked in and it smelled absolutely divine.  Got up to the cashier asked if they could make a cafe mocha with soy milk.  She said yes.  All the employees so to want to rush you in and out.  I got my drink and hopped on my bus in time.  My bus pulls off and I take a sip of my mocha.  They made me a hot chocolate (or the weakest coffee) . Maybe if they weren't in a rush they would have gotten my drink right.  I spent 6 dollars on something that didn't even taste remotely close to what I asked for.  Should of read the Yelp reviews before walking.  LESSON LEARNED.

  4. I had a great sandwich, but between the rather generous prices and poor service, I can't give this more than three stars.  This place reminded me a lot of many other places in NYC (including the Pret A Manger chain) with pre-made food, lines for made-to-order sandwiches and coffee. I had difficulty ordering my sandwich since the guy behind the counter seemed to be purposely mumbling–at every single question I had to ask "Excuse me?"  Then I got to the register and the clerk seemed unable to find the sandwich he'd made for me. This place is nothing exceptional, but if you're in the neighborhood and need a quick bite, it'll do the trick.
