Dino’s Pizza & Pasta

“and it felt like I was in my old pizza joint in Brooklyn that I used to stop by on my way home from school.”

“Number one is Samaria, two is Rizzo's, four is Calabro, five is Polito's and six is Sac's.”

“I prefer the aged mozarella over the fresh mozarella used at Sac's. Also, delivery time is much much faster.”

  1. Pizza is pizza… There is a lot of it in NYC so you can always try some new slices everywhere you go. I ate a few times here during high school (96'-00'" and recently when visiting sculpture park I stopped by to have more pizza and it was just as I had remembered it to be. Tasty tasty

  2. What's the perfect antidote to the second trip to the dentist in one week? A slice at Dino's of course!

I went back to my Astoria dentist for the second round of fillings, and after several hours of the "numbness wearing off" stage, I was STARVING and desperately craving some pizza (and yay for the next six months of a clean bill of dental health!). I've been to this place many times before, and while it may not be the largest slice of pizza that you can get for $2.40, it's definitely one of the tastiest. Unlike other pizza joints, you can almost always find a place to sit.  Not a bad choice whenever I am in Astoria.

  3. My fiancé and I have ordered food from here a few times and so far I've gotta say – this place is pretty damn fantastic.

Food we've ordered includes a chicken/cheese sandwich, chicken parm, house salad and pizza.

The pizza isn't bad – typical NYC style pizza, good but not much to write home about. THOSE SANDWICHES THOUGH!!! This is where the 4 stars come in.

I'm really picky about chicken parm sandwiches when it's not a place I'm too familiar with because sometimes I'm not crazy about the tomato/marinara sauce used. First time I got a sandwich here I opted for just crispy chicken with cheese and I tried my finance's chicken parm and it was actually really fantastic. Great sauce, great cheese, really nicely prepared chicken on good Italian bread.

Delivery has always been good with timing, packaged well – this place is great!

  4. My friends and I go here for a quick bite to eat every now and again, and it doesn't disappoint. It's definitely not New York's best, but it gets the job done.

Dino's is legit around the corner from my best friend's apartment, so it's inevitable that we end up here more than we should. Their pizza is pretty standard, nothing special. The staff is always pleasant and their prices are good. Every time we've gone, the place has been full of patrons; it's partially because of its great location, but I think there's credit to be owed to the staff that make it a 'homey' place to get a slice.

If you're looking for a quick slice of pizza before a night out, Dino's is the place to go (especially because it's right by the subway)!

  5. I grew up going to this pizzeria! I used to come here after school and get a slice when it was $1.25! LoL it's definitely been a while. I always loved their food. Never had any complaints. The staff is always awesome. Very friendly people, especially the owners. The prices are also very reasonable. I always see large groups of people sitting down inside and eating together- the place is very "comfortable" for that REAL Astoria type of setting. It's one of the older places that still stands and is kind of a land mark in my eyes. I'm so sick of these new places opening up, over charging for crappy food, and having snotty staff members with their yuppie hipster type customers. It's nice to know a place like this is still around to keep Astoria- "Astoria."

I'm pretty sure I have tried every single thing on their menu lol Unless it contains mushrooms- I don't do mushrooms haha But I'm sure their mushroom dishes are very good as well. I've had every type of pizza from them too. I'm never disappointed with their food! I urge you to stop in here and grab a slice, or a dinner dish!

  6. I do come here every once in a while, when I don't feel like going to Samaria. I love their window designs whenever they have it. Their pizzas are good, but just a tad pricey. It's okay pizza but it's still fine.

  7. I wanted a piece of stuffed pizza from another pizza shop down the street but when my fiance went in they were out of pizza or something ridiculous and he didn't want to wait.  So he went to Dino's which is the back up choice.  I think it's just labeled as that because it's further from our apt.  But so anyway, I had a piece of pizza that involved spinach and my fiance had two pieces of pizza with sausage I think.  And then he got violently ill.  We aren't saying it was legit food poisoning because who knows but he was terribly sick and as a consequence no longer ventures to Dino.

My pizza was good and I felt fine after 🙂

  8. Was in the area and wanted a quick lunch . Service was quick . Food came out hot. That's a plus! Ordered their pasta for me and my daughter.  It was okay. The vodka sauce was bland. I've had tastier elsewhere. I'll try them a second chance next time .
