“The tables are relatively close to each other so it can get a little noisy, but in general i would say the noise level is average.”

  1. The restaurant has a very airy feel with large open doors to their outdoor street dining. As you enter the restaurant, their bar is on the right and extends a good distance down the towards the back of the restaurant They have a traditional old Tuscan style Italian Restaurant feel with arch ceilings coming down to columns throughout the indoor dining room. They have a good wine list with a nice selection by the glass. We have had many different selections from their menu which were all good. We recently had an early Wednesday dinner and decide to order from the Specials menu. Last time we had the Zucchini Flowers as an appetizer and Stuffed Chicken and Veal Special. The service was excellent, but the restaurant was not very busy at the time. We will continue to visit this restaurant often.

  2. The best Northern Italian food on South Shore Long Island!everything on the menu fresh authentic and delicious,my favorites are the St Peters Fish,Chiken Pommery and the farfalle alla salmon, The thin crust brick oven pizza and Panini's are a must try! Extensive wine list for all u wine lovers as well as Perrone on tap,the waitstaff here are so friendly and accommodating as well, ambience is dim lit beautiful and romantic with a great garden room in the back for private parties,Ray the owner of this fine establishment takes a lot of pride and it shows!Try Dodici once and u will become a regular!

  3. The food and drink at Dodici are always excellent. I currently live in the City and will always eat at Dodici whenever I'm on Long Island because of it's authentic Italian feel. I have been to this restaurant numerous times and I have always had an enjoyable experience.

  4. The only seemingly romantic restaurant in a half a mile radius. Perfect outdoor seating area, that is equally as cute as the interior of the restaurant. It is dimly lit without it exuding a speakeasy feel, so feel free to come here for a dinner with the in-laws as well.
It's run by Italians, so the food does not disappoint.
There is a summer wine's special going on! They have a variety of reds and whites that were priced at $25-$30 a bottle. This is cheap, considering their corkage fee was $30!
Their calamari was more calamari than it was flour. The pieces were not some dinky piece of squid, which was very much appreciated. Thank you, Dodici.
Their sole entree was disappointing though. Very salty. I would not get this again.
We also ordered their "Canelloni alla Emiliana" which is fancy Italian for Pasta stuffed with veal, chicken, spinach, ricotto cheese, and red sauce. Imagine a long slice of lasagna paper rolled into a 6-inch diameter cylinder, after being stuffed with a mix of ground up meats, cheese, and red sauce. There were two of these, plated, and served. It was good, but the entree description definitely hyped it up for the poor fellow, who happened to be 6 feet tall and 180 pounds of muscle. He should have gotten the "linguini marechiara", a clam sauce pasta infused with lots of garlic and a bit of red sauce to add some color. It was all the rave for two different parties that were sitting in our vicinity.
We also got the "pollo scarpariello" which is a huge entree, on the flipside, big enough to share with two people. There are fist sized pieces of chicken, still on the bone aka TENDER AND JUICY AS ALL HELL, oven baked with an olive oil and garlic dressing, topped off with small pieces of sausages, long slices of red peppers, onions, and big chunks of potatoes. Their garlic cloves add the perfect touch to the dish. I'm a huge garlic person so I had every piece of garlic… I think they should have added a bit more sausages, because there were only 3 pieces of quarter-sized pieces in the whole dish. I thoroughly enjoyed this entree to its very last bite.

    Their service is impeccable, btw.
I will drop by again if I am back in Rockville Centre again. Thanks for the awesome dining experience, Dodici.

  5. One of RVC's best Italian restaurants.  A warm sunny weekend seemed like a good time to visit.  Like most of RVC restaurants    , arrive early to avoid waits.  I've been to Dodici many times.  The food here is excellent and service is as well.  Menu has brick oven pizzas , paninis , pasta and some intriguing entrees.  I wish they offered more seafood dishes.  On this visit I went with linguini marechiara which is basically clam sauce with shrimps with plenty of garlic and a dash of tomato sauce.  Delicious.  Prices are a bit steep but the cost is justified with such excellent food.  A decaf cap after dinner and I'm left thinking why don't I eat here more frequently?

  6. Went here for my grandfather's 87th birthday. Good food, nothing that completely blew me away.I got the Gnocchi alla Bolognese and I enjoyed it very much. Caesar salad was a little soggy. I get the feeling it was made a while before I ordered it. Three of four people who tried the Lobster Bisque loved it.
Seemed a little expensive for the type of food we got. I guess you pay extra for the very nice atmosphere.

I was surprised to find that we were the only table on a Sunday afternoon. Oh well, we got more attention that way, and more people to sing Happy Birthday!

They were very good about accomodating my great uncle's Celiac's disease, saying to him "tell us what you want to eat, and we'll make it for you with gluten free ingredients." That impressed me a lot.

Also, my grandfather, a set-in-his-way picky-ish eater, asked for Veal Parmagiana, not specifically on the menu, and they made it for him no questions asked, besides "What type of pasta side would you like?"

I was impressed by their willingness to make the customers happy. If I am in the area again, I will remember Dodici.

  7. This is a go to spot for me and my wife in RVC. I'd say we come here about once a month, as it is consistently good. It's not amazing by any means, but the quality is very consistent, as well as the service.  We recently made a reservation for four early on a Saturday night, as the couple we were dining with needed to catch the 835 train back to Manhattan, which they did as this place is right near the train station. Place was not crowded, which was good, and the front pocket doors were open, enabling us to sit on the precipice of where the inside of the restaurant meets the outside of the restaurant. They have dining fully outside as well, with awnings overhead.

The hostess gave us some bs when we asked to sit at the table we eventually got, saying she might need it for a reservation, but once we exclaimed that we had a reservation one of the super old school Italian waiters trumped her and told us to sit there. There is a long narrow bar on the left wall in here with a few chairs to grab drinks, as well as a tv. The alcohol and wine selection is pretty good, and they make their drinks super stiff. We didn't go to the bar, but ordered cocktails to start. Myself and my buddy went for rye old fashioneds, while the ladies sipped on martinis. All were good and strong. We put in a quick margarita pizza, as they have a brick oven, and it was good. I went for what I always get, the rigatoni butera. Thick rigatoni in a pink cream sauce with sausage, peas, and a large dollop of ricotta on top. Always awesome, my favorite thing on the menu. My buddy's girlfriend got the same thing on my recommendation and liked it as well. Others ordered whole wheat penne with chicken and broccoli in garlic and oil, as well as veal fontanella. Reviews were good all around.

We also spilt a bottle of ruffino gold reserve Chianti, pricy for this place at $80, but really good. For dessert, we split an Italian ricotta cheesecake, gelato, and an amaretto on the rocks. The ricotta cheesecake is another one of my favs, I get it every time. The service was great too, super Italian guy off the boat was not overbearing but very attentive; he even swirled the wine for me before I tasted it. Highly recommend valet parking here, can be tough otherwise. Decor inside is old school Tuscan, not a modern place but a nice Italian feel. After all we ordered it was $360 total for four of us with tax and tip, not bad considering the amount of drinks the girls had and the bottle of wine.

  8. Great food and excellent  wine selection. Superb service. We went during Restaurant Week so it was only $92 per couple. The food is authentic. My friend  had the huge veal chop. I had the Vitello Fontinella (veal scallopini). Delicious.
