  1. I had the spicy seafood noodle soup. It was alright. Overpriced Chinese/Korean food. My boyfriend had #16, and said his noodles were soggy. His meal also came with half a bowl of broth. Won't go there again.

  2. This is a decent Korean-Chinese restaurant. I've been here a few times and I've tried two items. Jajangmyun or noodles with black bean sauce and kampoongi or sweet fried chicken. Both items were pretty standard and in line with most other Korean-Chinese places. The jajanyun was cooked well and sauce wasn't overpowering. The kampoongi had a good mix of spice and flavor to the chicken.

I mostly come here for the lunch specials. The jajangmyun is $5 and is a pretty good deal.

There is a parking lot you can park at in the mini-mall right by this restaurant. During peak hours its really busy there, and its hard to find spots. If you can't find parking at the mini-mall, there's an A and P across the street, where you can park at.

  3. Ever since my favorite Jajangmyun (noodles w/ black bean sauce) place Omori closed down (RIP Omori), I've been searching for my new favorite jajangmyun spot and I think I've found it here…but not because of their jajangmyun ironically.

The jajangmyun is fine here. Honestly, jajangmyun is pretty much just OK anywhere you go in this area. I just make sure to avoid the places that make it too sweet.

But the main reason I will be coming back here is 1) their prices are definitely lower across the board than other places (their lunch specials are crazy cheap too), 2) they offer combo meals during non-lunch hours so you can get your noodle dish with a side of spicy chicken or sweet and sour pork all for a good price, and 3) their kangpoongee (spicy chicken) is probably the best I've had in the area. The breading isn't overpowering (like it is at most places), the sauce is spot on, and the chicken tastes like legit chicken.

Especially given the increase in prices in other Korean-Chinese spots in the area, this place is all the more appealing to me. Maybe you guys haven't noticed, but kangpoongee/tangsooyook used to be $14-16 anywhere you went, but now it's more like $18-22. But if you get a combo at Dong Bo Sung, you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for those dishes. AND it's good here too.

Bonus points for having a pretty spacious (free) parking lot behind the restaurant. Service could be a little bit better but it certainly was not bad service.

  4. Small cozy korean restaurant in flushing. Jja jangmyun is probably my favorite korean food and this place makes it SO good! Also tried their spicy fried shrimp which was extra crispy..just the way i like it!

too bad this place is far from me, i would definitely come here more often.

  5. My mother in law arranged for the family to meet for lunch.  Korean style Chinese food in a quiet location in Bergen County.  Many dishes to share were ordered.  Jelly Fish, sweet/sour/spicy chicken, fried shrimp with vegetables, soondae, dumplings- all pretty decent.  After that we had janang myun, the black sauce noodles.  IMO the noodles were mediocre- the noodles were good but the sauce was too sweet and there was not enough meat and potatoes in the sauce. The service was a bit inattentive and the private room where we sat had a cracked table and holes in the wall.  Not sure I would go back again.

  6. This restaurant offers lunch special menu with really good price. Regular black bean noodle(Jja Jjang Myun) cost $5 during lunch, most expensive meal was $8 on lunch special. Jja Jang Myun(Black bean noodle) & Tang su yuk(Fried pork with sweet and sour sauce) were tasty but khan pong shrimp was too sweet for my  taste. Service is  about average..  They also offers menu with pictures if you visit first time. Food tastes good with reasonable price.. They have parking behind of the restaurant.

  7. Pretty decent Korean-Chinese restaurant, but definitely not my go-to for jjajjangmyun. Prices are very reasonable, the service is quick, and the food was ok for the most part. Came here for a weeknight dinner and we ordered spicy shrimp for app, and jjajjangmyun + fried rice. The jjajjangmyun and fried rice were ok, but the spicy shrimp was a bit too much on the soggy side rather than the crispy side.

  8. Went for Weekday Lunch Special

Food – 5/5. The kkakdugi stood out amongst the banchan as especially delicious. It's texture showed that the kkakdugi had been given enough time to sit in the fridge to reach quality level. The jajangmyeon noodles had a nice bite and the sauce was rich with stir-fry flavor. The dumpling was crispy with a nice meat filling and the sweet and sour pork was meaty with a delicate clean sauce. The fried rice was on the dry side but that is natural and also the reason it is accompanied by a rich egg drop soup.

Service – 4/5. The service was quick and efficient. Today the weather decided to give me a heavy downpour so one of the staff opened the back door for me so I do not have to go all the way around to the front door in the rain! Style points!

Price – 5/5. Their lunch menu offers the sweet and sour pork platter that comes with dumping, jajangmyeon, fried rice and egg drop soup at $11. A great spot for Chinese-Korean for lunch!

    Parking – Private Lot (Free)
