  1. If it weren't for the views this restaurant would be closed. I cannot fathom how it stayed open this long. Let me first start out with my cocktail. I ordered a grey goose dirty martini. First of all I am confident it was not in fact, grey goose. Next, it was not chilled at all. There was almost no olive juice at all. The olives looked old and moldy.  I asked the server for some ice and olive juice. She brings me a glass filled with olive juice, very little ice, and chunks floating around in it. So I basically had to make my own drink. Which wound up tasting disgusting anyway.

Next, we ordered the mozzarella in carrozza, calamari, and a bruschetta with white beans and pancetta. The mozzarella was amazing. So yummy. The sauce was even better!  The calamari, also awesome. With the amazing sauce included.  The bruschetta not so good. It was 2 small pieces of grilled bread with literally a can of white beans dumped on it. The pancetta? 4 tiny little pieces smaller than a dime. For $13.00. Utterly ridiculous.

The woman at the front door seemed irritated, overwhelmed and pretty pissed off to be honest. As we walked through the front door she was there to greet us. She was on the phone taking a reservation, wasn't exactly nice to whomever she was on the phone with then slammed the reservation book down. After the fact she explained that she was the pastry chef, and that was the job she was supposed to be working. So that makes total sense.

It's a damn shame what a disaster this restaurant is. It has SO much potential!!!! That place would be a gold mine if it was operated properly. I mean how many other waterfront restaurants are there in Whitestone with views like that?! I don't think we will be going back unfortunately.

Ok since management seems to have a problem with me not mentioning that we were given a free beer and a free glass of cheap wine from a box after the disastrous bruschetta and not being treated nicely. I am duly noting the face that the did in fact offer a round of drinks for us after the horrible bruschetta. Negating the fact that I went on and on in my review about how amazing the sauce and other appetizers were. Regardless, I do not appreciate being scolded then insulted. Now am I even more turned off. See fellow yelpers? This is how you get treated by the management after giving a not so great review. Nice work everyone!!!!!
