  1. We have the option to choose the sushi bar on the left or the hibachi tables on the right. They are in separate rooms. We picked the sushi bar because we didn't want hibachi that night.

Getting a table took a few minutes mainly because they thought we wanted hibachi and waited until a grill freed up before seating us. We told them we wanted sushi so they moved us to the other room. I'm sure it was just a simple mixup or lack of communication.

The fish was fresh and the chef was diligently slicing pieces of fish at the counter. You could see him working hard while you ate. I ordered an assorted platter which contained yellow tail, tuna, salmon, and hamachi. I also ordered a spicy tuna roll, soft shell crab, and miso soup because I was hungry. The only thing I ate was some mediocre Chinese food at the airport which I frankly wouldn't have eaten if I had a choice. We ordered a bottle of cold sake and a bottle of hot sake as well. I personally like my sake cold.

The service was spotty at best. Our waiter appeared checked out a majority of the time and he was on auto pilot when he came by to check on us.  It wasn't a huge problem for us since it was a very slow night for them.

  2. My bf and I went here last night. For a Monday, rainy night, the restaurant was relatively busy. We had a twenty minute wait then we were led to the table. The decor was interesting. Like trunks of trees everywhere and Asian paintings. I personally don't think the tables are so close to each other but when another chef had flames going on their side, I could definitely feel the heat on my side. The food itself was pretty good. There was so much food but I expected that and came hungry. But I still couldn't finish everything. The performance itself was a bit underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a very nice guy. Good with the kids but I expected more. My past hibachi performances were better. Overall, I might come back. Prices were decent as well.

  3. Not a bad hibachi place, but definitely not the best I've been too.

Our chef was entertaining and talented, but not the most energetic in the restaurant for sure, other tables seemed much more lively.

Food was good..large portions, good quality, and well made.  My only 2 complaints are that they only had 2 dipping sauces (most places have 3 or 4 and I love the variety) and that the fried rice just wasn't all that great (plus no soy sauce for me to add, and it needed some bad).

Overall a decent meal, I'd return.

  4. When I first went to this place early 00's that's when I discovered hibachi it opened a whole new door for me instantly fell in love with this type of cooking even tho this style of cooking might have been around for a while. Big portions nice place friendly hibachi chefs ate here numerous times and I always go in a big group ive never had a complaint. 5 stars

  5. On a Saturday night, this place was packed and loud and at times too warm. Good thing we had reservations. Our whole party arrived at the same time and we were immediately sat and had drinks ordered. It is amazing how many tables they are able to fit into the space. It almost seemed too cramped for the cooks, but somehow they managed. The hibachi was super yummy and they were uber accommodating when we mentioned an allergy in our group. In our party, we order hibachi chicken, hibachi scallops, hibachi salmon, hibachi lobster and shrimp and hibachi beef. It was all cooked to perfection. Not inexpensive but not outrageous given that the hibachi menu includes soup, salad, your main meal, white rice (fried rice is extra) and dessert. The kids menu is for 12 and under and comes with soup or salad, which was a perfect portion. We had a birthday in our party and the entire staff came over to sing a song, present a special dessert and take a picture. By the end of the meal, they had printed the picture and gave it to our birthday boy! It was a nice touch! Park in the back – there are signs all over that warm about being towed if you don't.

  6. My first "hibachi" experience, ever! Well, I have had Mongolian grill before but never hibachi.

I tried to document my whole experience through Yelp while balance to pay enough attention to enjoy my dining experience itself. It worked but still I would like to return and just focus on thoroughly enjoy the dining process alone.

    Some tips:

    1. Definitely make a reservation. I walked in without a reservation and had to wait for about 10 minutes before another party of 5 arrived. Then we were all seated together. I think they seat you based on the number of people in your party and then decide the seating chart from there. Normally you will have to wait for another party to arrive to be seated. One table sits about 7 or 8 people.

    2. Sit back when the chef is making magics happen. There is a small chance that the oil may splash on you.

    3. Prepare for a good leftover meal. You get so many "comps" with your entree, which typically stays in the $18-25 range. You get a cup of comp soup, salad, a small serving of baby shrimps, veggies, noodles, (insert your app and entree dish here in this order) and ice cream. So you may not finish your actual meat entree. The server is instructed to ask if you need a box for leftover. The amount of food offered definitely worth every dollar.

    4. I agree with others and you should definitely order fried rice for a couple of more dollars instead of white rice.

    5. For $7 more, they offer you dessert, sing a special song for your birthday and take a group photo and develop the photo for your party during your visit. There is also a private room for private parties. Not sure about its rate.

    6. Plenty of free parking in the lot.

    7. Each chef has his/her own style. This chef at the table next to ours lit up the onions on fire. So cool. You surely won't be bored.

Overall, I had a blast here! The food was great. The miso soup was good and tasty. The salad was pretty standard, nothing special. I really liked the baby shrimps and my scallops that I got for appetizer. They were seasoned very well. And from the performance, you can clearly see the generous amount of salt/pepper/other condiment applied on the shrimps. I think each person got about 8 small pieces at our table. The veggies and noodles were very good too. By the time my noodles were served, I was already pretty much full. I really liked my filet Mignon. I highly recommend this entree. It was cooked to perfection and super juicy, tender, and served at the right bite size. I sampled a bit green tea ice cream and it was surprising better than I thought. The vanilla ice cream was just your typical vanilla ice cream.

It was so much fun watching the chef and I couldn't stop taking videos. The videos are ONLY available through Yelp Mobile App, not on Desktop site BTW. I highly recommend this place.

  7. Went here for dinner because one of my good friend really likes this place. I forgot to call ahead for a reservation and of course, the place was packed because it was a Friday night. The wait for the hibachi table wasn't as long as we have anticipated. The inside was huge. There were at least ten hibachi tables there and every single one was occupied. Once we were seated, menus were given and orders were taken in just a few minutes. (It's definitely a good thing since I hate waiting forever for the waiter.) We sampled their fried calamari and spicy tuna for appetizers. Soup and salad were included with the hibachi dinner. I didn't care too much for the calamari as it was lacking flavor but the spicy tuna roll was good. The salad had tasty dressing and the soup was okay. The hibachi dinner show was good. I think the cook was getting tired since he didn't put much of a performance. Granted, he was probably working all day already. The meat was cooked to perfection. The dipping sauces were also really good. Plenty of food to enjoy and still some left overs to take home. The only thing that I wish they would change is that they should give the patrons more time to eat the hibachi dinner. I know that your food comes at different times but I felt a little rushed because as soon as the cook was done cleaning the table, here comes the waiters/waitress cleaning up our plates already, asking us if we want to take our food home, etc. At least give us time to enjoy the delicious dinner.

Ps. way better than Abis in Greenwich and much cheaper.

  8. Huge portions!!! Scallops and fried rice is very good!

Service isn't that great though as they won't seat you to look at the menu until your full party is there.
