  1. I trust Yelpers review, went there for dinner on Saturday. Place was jam packed. Waited not too long, was able to get table. I had tough time to looking for entrance, it looks really weird but 2nd right is the entrance, that is exactly located directly in the middle of the dinning area. Made me hesitate to go in.
I was little surprise with this small Italian restaurant in my neighborhood. Nice decoration, small but cozy restaurant. It was too noisy so wasn't able to properly communicate with my husband and space was really small.
Well mannered service but little bit slow but it was jam packed with people inside. Food was great. Beet salad, mussels appetizer were great. Fish special of the day and chicken dishes were awesome. So tender and juicy. I don't usually eat Chicken breast in the restaurant but this chicken dish was so juicy and tender. Additionally it's BYOB. My wine glass were stink like wet mob, had to change and waste some of the wines but they were so attentive with our needs.
Owner came out to check on customers in the late at night. I think that was really nice. I found new place to go whenever I'm craving for good Italian meal.

  2. Fontana Di Trevi serves up solid Italian food at very reasonable prices. Pasta appears to be house made (ricotta gnocchi was out-of-this-world fresh!) and is generously coasted in authentic and creative sauces. Cuts of meat are generous and of a high quality. Desserts are all made fresh to order, never stale/soggy/fridge flavored. The service is friendly and attentive and atmosphere is comfortable (nice seats, low lighting, relaxing music). We've dined here twice and have been quite pleased each time – would certainly recommend to others looking for a no nonsense good Italian meal in northern Jersey.

  3. This is more of a 2 and a half star review.

My group of friends and I were very excited to come here after reading all of the reviews. We usually stick to our favorite Italian places for dinner but decided to venture out.

The inside is lovely. They score points there. Its very warm and intimate inside. The service was also great. Offered us a wine bucket and checked on us through out the meal.

For food we started with the cesar salad made table side. That was a cool experience to watch. Then we shared the neptuno. It was different seafood in a cream sauce and baked. It was ok, nothing i would ever order again.

For my main i ordered the bucatini alla carbonara. It was very tasty and rich. My friend pointed out the sauce was not a true carbonara, but regardless it was still good.  Now to the lesser dish. It was the halibut on the special page. It was over cooked and not worth the 30 dollar price tag.

All and all, we decided we wont be returning back. Nothing else on the menu  jumped out to us when looking it over. The food just didn't do it for us, which was unexpected after seeing all of the great reviews.

  4. I've never heard of Leona NJ, and didn't know that there were dry counties. We stumbled upon this gem attempting to cross the lower level GWB. There was an hour delay, so we looked for a place to eat.

We shared the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto salad. Went next door to purchase a nice California Cab Sags Leap. No cork fee (nice!).

Had the scallops w mushroom risotto topped with ground sundried tomatoes. I didn't like wife's duck as much, with fresh mashed potatoes,  but her fresh spinach sautéed w garlic was perfect.

The maitre d was well dressed, courteous, and extremely helpful. The waiter was great. The whole place was just classy.

  5. Dante's finally has some competition for Italian in Leonia (Not to knock on Dante's btw which I also rate at 5 stars)! A bit more formal than Dante's, this place started off small a few years ago, but they seem to really be picking up steam. It went from being mostly empty to impossible-to-get-a-table-full seemingly over night and having eaten here I can see why.

The walls give the place a rustic vibe, but the table setting, candles, and flatware draw the restaurant more towards an upscale setting. It has a certain charm to it, and provides for a modern yet somehow still traditional atmosphere.

The pre-appetizer bread was excellent. Hot and fresh! As for the entree, I had the mushroom ravioli which was delicately prepared and served in a mushroom sauce reduction. The pasta was soft, but still rigid enough to not fall apart on your fork. The mushroom filling itself was also rich in flavor.

No complaints about the service, A+. I do want to mention that we were very lucky to get seated when we did. I would see about getting a reservation next time as this place seems to get very busy on the weekends!

Verdict: 5 stars well earned, would recommend and dine in again!.

  6. My sister raves about this BYOB.  I finally dined with her and friends.  Service, food and atmoshpere were very good although the waiter was confused with the order or forgot about two sides that were ordered for which he was highly apologetic. I ordered the Special Salad which was greens, almonds, tomatoes and the bonus of gorgonzola and mozzarella.  The entree was Bronzini with vegetables and very good mashed potato.  The dessert was an "eggless" custard (strange) with infused fennel and sambuca; a strangely interesting treat.  I was heavily engaged in conversation and wine, but seemed to have an enjoyable meal.

  7. Awesome food as per previously reviews. However, need to focus on service aspect more. There was only one server for the entire room. Had to wait quite a bit in order to get her attention. Overall, great experience. Will be back.

  8. BYOBs are easy to find, but a BYOB with phenomenal food is just rare.

My fellow yelpers…here it is….a BYOB with PHENOMENAL food!!!!
Forget your wine? No big deal, there is a liquor store within walking distance right by the restaurant!

I came here about a month ago with my mother and one of her friends for the first time, and I must say I did not expect the food to be as great as it was! Thank you Fontana Di Trevi for the lovely surprise!

For an appetizer we started off with the baked clams and the sliced HOMEMADE mozzarella with ripened tomatoes and fresh basil. Both were absolutely delish! The clams were fresh and full of flavor, possibly the best this area has to offer and the mozzarella was simply exquisite!

For dinner I had the Ravioli Al Fungi which , once again is HOMEMADE raviolis filled
with wild mushrooms in a light shiitake mushroom reduction. All I can say is WOW. If your a mushroom lover, please do yourself a favor and order this, you will not be disappointed! It was perfectly cooked and was another item on this menus that was full of flavor.
As a side I  ordered spinach which was fresh and went perfect with my pasta dinner!

We also ordered dessert which is also homemade and hit the spot after a lovely dinner.

to top it off…price of the entire meal was amazing and the portions were very generous! The staff is also very nice and the ambiance is pretty, relaxing and romantic.

I will be back again very soon! Until then, for all those who decide to go Bon Appetite!
