I am new to the North Haledon area and am so pleasantly surprised by this grocery store.
It may be smaller than your average Shop Rite and you may be shopping for tampons in the same aisle that you shop for cookies, wait actually, that's a plus…. I just love this place.
So many imported foods and unique brands that I haven't seen before and the pricing is on par with other grocery stores.
The produce selection is pretty vast, organic and non-organic options available. There are usually specials on various greens, great hot pepper selection. The hot sauce area is huge….I never knew there were so many hot sauce products to choose from. The seafood area contains fresh items, frozen and prepared, good selection, helpful fish monger. The meat area is quite vast too, all sorts of cuts, dry-aged beef, USDA prime, and the butcher is always willing to cut fresh if you need.
I love the layout of the store, the Italian import section rivals that of any Italian market in Lodi, Paterson, or anywhere else.
The mozzarella….they have a mini glass enclosed factory in the prepared food/dairy section….must see.
The service is great, everyone is so nice, whether it's in the morning or a few minutes before closing.
A very solid supermarket. It looks small, but it's got everything you'll need. The prepared food is always fresh and always come in handy when you get last-minute visitors for dinner. I'm a fan 😉
