  1. Happy hours 4-8pm for $4 draft beers. This is what I came for! I visited at around 6:30pm and downed 3 beers by 8. They serve good food too.

We sat at the bar, just so we could order right away. There's very little seating outside. Fresh Salt is not in the centre of South Street Seaport, so it's a very quiet bar. I loved that it's not packed, there's actually intimate conversation happening.

You could order chips for $2. You could order sandwiches + chips for $10. I had the Homemade Meatloaf sandwich, which was really good! And it was a big plate too.

    Service is friendly.

  2. Loved finding this little gem by the seaport. Awesome happy hours specials, especially for the financial district. HH lasts until 8pm and serves $4 drafts and $4 well drinks. Just note that there is a $10 minimum for credit cards, so if you're looking for just one drink, bring cash!

  3. After a nice cruise over at the seaport, was able to finally visit Fresh Salt after their brunch hours (that part of their menu looks lackluster). Space isn't very big, but not many people at 3pm on a Saturday, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Ordered the homemade meatloaf ($10) and substituted fries for mac n cheese ($3). Huge meatloaf with horseradish mayo served with lettuce on a sesame bun. Very filling meal, though could have used some more sauce (not much of a complaint). Mac and cheese was divine, nicely crisped on top and heavy cheese throughout. Meal would have been better with some hot sauce but was too hungry to care. Got a can of cider ($8) to wash it all down.

If this place isn't packed, a good spot as any for a filling meal.

  4. I've been here twice now, both times on a Saturday late afternoon/early evening. It's usually pretty chill and fairly empty at that time so if you're looking for a not-so-busy place to hang out in the area, this is the best bet. They have happy hour every day which is great, and the bartenders are always friendly. I got a whiskey ginger and a vodka tonic, both of which are pretty strong given how cheap they are on happy hour! It's definitely a good value for your money. Never tried the food but hope to next time I stop by!

  5. It's a pretty unassuming spot – which makes it perfect to enjoy good company either at the bar or at a table. What I love:
    (1) Service was awesome and bartender is super chill
    (2) The Beekman cocktail is one of the best bourbon-based cocktails I've had
    (3) The Pork Sandwich is a quality selection. It's substantive without being a monster portion. The pork could have been a bit more tender but to be fair I ordered it at 10:45PM.
    (4) They serve food up until midnight!!

The service, scene, and cocktail is what really earns the 4 stars. The bartender was a trip and let us make song requests (but gave us shit if it was "weak" request). All the patrons at the bar had a good laugh at the clown who requested Journey's Don't Stop Believin'. Good times!

Completely agree with others on the "locals only pub" vibe… and I'd happily come back.

  6. I came here with great expectations about the place. However, it wasn't the case. I came here with several colleagues of mine. The bartender noticed us, but didn't say anything at first – I'm guessing he was assuming that we were still figuring out our orders. When the time came, he put on this sarcastic mood as he took our order. I asked for a vodka tonic and instantly he said, "a bottle of tonic? I don't have that." Okay, so that was pretty funny, but his attitude was consistent t throughout. My coworker tried ordering a jack and coke, but they don't carry Jack Daniels. He proceeded to order Jameson, which they don't carry either and then took the menu, pointed at it and said, "this is what we have on the menu." Note taken – I don't recommend anyone to come here to waste their time. Even though the atmosphere is GREAT, customer service is always important. I suggest you go somewhere else, especially if you have a large group tagging along with you. I would like to come back here to try out their food, but honestly, from my experience, I'll just plan to go somewhere else.

  7. $10min
    Great Happy Hour
    I haven't tried their food.
Very cute inside and OUTDOOR seating in South Street Seaport.

  8. Go to this place – the bartender Michael slings great cocktails and he takes music requests. He played Xscape for us! The menu doesn't have lots options but who cares? You could probably afford to lose a few pounds anyway.
