“The Sweet Potato Soup is out of this world as are their Soy Chicken Nuggets and Vegetarian Soul Chicken.”

“The macrobiotic dish i purchased was a little on the bland side, but it was still good to find a healthy take out place near my hotel.”

  1. "What am I supposed to do eat my soup with my hands?"

This review is more about the delivery.

I ordered from here and the delivery was on time as predicted by Grubhub. However, the the tahini sauce, which I paid for, and ketchup were missing. Plus, there were no plasticware and napkins included with my order. Also the soup that I ordered was placed on its side so it was dripping  through the lid.

That said the chili-lime chicken burger was ok. There was not a spicy kick that I would have expected from something with chilies in it. The sweet potato soup was pretty tasty plus the apple chunks gave it some crunch, so it was not a container of mush.

All in all, foodwise, I will give the place another chance. Perhaps, I will pick up the order next time

  2. Real time lunch review!

Almost two years to the date later, and I'm trying them again.  You figure, after that long of doing NYC delivery, you'd get timing down.  Still, just to be safe, I pre-ordered in the morning for 1:30pm delivery.  Even with hours of notice, they were still half an hour late.

Gotta take a star off for that ish.  While they offer acceptable-to-good-to-awesome cuisine options, GH has been in the game long enough to realize that, if a customer requests a specific time for pre-order to a corporate building, chances are that's the only window they have in their schedule.  I've been avoiding ordering from or recommending them because my co-workers and I don't have the flexibility to wait for delivery that isn't timely.

With so many comparable options for clean eating throughout the city, many of which are within pick up distant and/or have consistent delivery, I'm bumping GH down to an eat-in, if in the area, option.  Just can't recommend them for delivery when they just can't execute that function well.

  3. I am so glad I discovered Good Health! This place is about to become my default go-to place for lunch AND dinner.

I've had the Sweet Potato Soup, Steamed Kabocha Squash, and Grilled Eggplant with Soba Noodles. I LOVED the first two, and the entree was above average but didn't enjoy it as much as the soup and the squash.

The menu said the soup has wild rice, but there were only chunks of apples. The soup tasted so rich and creamy, so it was hard to believe that the soup is oil-free and dairy-free.

The Steamed Kabocha Squash is as simple (and delicious) as it gets. A little pricey at $7.95, but I love kabocha squash so it was all worth it to me.

The Grilled Eggplant with Soba noodles came with BBQ teriyaki tofu. I didn't expect the tofu to have tempura coating, but it was very tasty. The noodles were slightly dry, but the watery-ness of the eggplant balanced it out.

  4. Nice little spot for vegan food choices. Even though I am a total carnivore I can get into some meatless eats now and then.

Sure, they do have some fish and chicken options on the menu but it's largely vegan dominated.

We dropped in here not too long ago as it's not too far from where I live on the UES. Kind of a small spot and a bit cramped but we scored a table. Could be a bit cleaner. Maybe a coat of paint and a little renovating would do the trick. Or wiping down the tables a bit more. No biggie as I've eaten in worse spots and came out alive.

I was actually very impressed with the soy chicken nuggets and their homemade BBQ sauce. Nothing like McD's chicken nuggets but pretty good. The black bean vegan burger was also pretty solid.

Very reasonable prices here with many items on the menu at $10 and under. They even do brunch too. Surprisingly decent for a small vegetarian joint and I can see myself eating here again when craving a cleaner healthy meal.

  5. Soy Chicken Nuggets with honey mustard – great combo but the nuggets were soggy.

NOTE – ask them to separate the corn chips from the burger because the chips will loose the crunch quickly! Unless you're planning to eat it within a few minutes then it's not a big deal. My chips were stall and soggy from the condensation of the burger.

Good Health Burger Deluxe – Not good compared to the black bean bacon vegan burger. This burger tried too hard to taste good. It toppings were appealing but the burger itself not only had a chewy, weird, "what is this texture?" but it also tasted like it wanted to be fake meat but failed.

Black Bean Bacon Vegan Burger – This burger is off the wall! I didn't see or taste the veggie bacon strips, portobello and onion. I'm assuming that it's made of those? Not sure, but it doesn't matter because the guacamole, dairy-free sour cream and the vegan mayo bbq sauce was to die for. The sauce was so good and it made the burger so great.

Blueberry Flan pie – this is basically a blueberry cheesecake. Very disappointed. I wanted flan!

  6. 4 stars because I thought they were a bit pricey. Absolutely delightful + guilt free. Ordered from Grub hub. Service & delivery was quick during lunchtime. The vegetarian soul chicken had the perfect amount of BBQ sauce. I can't believe the chicken nuggets were soy-they taste great. My favorite was the salmon cake platter. This was a huge dish with grilled veggies and 3 big salmon cakes-delicious. My co-worker loved the salmon burger.

  7. Review of delivery:

For relatively quick, relatively healthy delivery, this is as good as it gets. The chicken chipotle burrito is simple but perfect. And the Asian vegetable dumplings are fantastic. Nice to find a place whose ingredients I trust.

  8. Can't get enough of this place. I work nearby and this is an excellent and reasonable choice for lunch.
I love the vegan options as well as the variety of lunch specials they offer. It's an intimate environment so I wouldn't recommend coming with a large group but certainly coming alone and dining in or with 1-2 people is fine. The food tastes fresh and healthy… Can't beat that!
