Came in specifically for oyster happy hour which are $1. They have a wonderful selection of east coast oysters all for a dolla! Great deal, especially paired with $7 hh wines. I had the Chard and it was amazing! If you check in on Yelp you also get a free order of the beignets which actually are freaking awesome with these two great sauces!! I will be back for hh and a full dinner next time!
Located in Greenwich Village, I found about this place for its $1 oysters! Greenwich Project is two floors with the dining room on the first floor – not sure what is on the second floor.
Upon entrance, I noticed the restaurant was pretty much empty. The full bar directly in front had a couple casually drinking with another couple dining in the back. We arrived with restaurant reservations, which would have been fine if it was a walk-in. Decor is stylish, chic, yet comfortable, seems like a great brunch spot too!
Food:
Oysters — Daily Selection (4/5): These were the Happy Hour $1 Oysters! Ordered a dozen with 3 different selections of the day — Hurricane Harbor, 38 North, Malpeque.
1. Hurricane Harbor (Small, Medium Salinity, Seaweed Body): 2nd favorite.
2. 38 North (Medium, Farm, Medium Salinity, Clean Sweet Finish): Our absolute favorite.
3. Malpeque (Large, Blend of Sweet, Brine, and Pickle-like Finish): 3rd favorite.
Crispy Heritage Pork Shank (1/5, Gigante Beans, Red Pepper Chutney): Was not a big fan of this at all. It was dry, over cooked in the inner with the outer decent. I needed an additional sauce with this because even with vegetables, nothing from the meal stood out. It was slightly bland to eat the pork shank alone after several bites. This dish tasted better with the fettucine nero due to the sauce and flavor.
Creekstone Farms Petit Bar Steak (3/5, Crisp Potato, Pickled Onions, Salsa Verde): Onion rings that comes with this is delicious – who isn't a fan of onion rings!? Steak was okay, cooked to medium rare… seemed rare to me but was not my dish. I didn't try much of this besides two bites.
Fettucine Nero and Lobster (4/5, Tomato, Chilis, Basil, Roasted Garlic): Delicious with flavor!! This is a great pasta that you should order if you are not sure what to get. The small size was good enough for a dinner portion, but the large size would be perfect for lunch the next day. There are little chunks of lobster throughout the pasta, and the pasta is cooked perfectly. More on the lighter side.
Beignets (4/5, Salted Caramel and Crème brûlée dipping sauces): Made to order with cinnamon sugar – fresh and warm. Do check in the Yelp app for a free order of these goodies!
Service was really good because there was one other table at the time. It was awkwardly uncomfortable, especially when there were 2-3 workers standing next to the bar staring at your table intermittently. It only got better when other patrons arrived to dine at Greenwich Project, which was like an hour later.

In the heart of the Pride Parade, we somehow made it to the Greenwich Project. It was an amazingly quiet, air conditioned respite from the raucous ridiculousness outside. The upstairs overlooking the parade was out of control. I enjoyed 2 bulliet ryes on the rocks and one of their "healthy" cocktail called the "Beet It" which was a Pimms Cup with Beet Juice. They have a whole list of delicious juice bar cocktails. With a Yelp checkin, you're get free beignets. They were dense with a bit of airiness. They have a nice flavor with just enough sweetness. The service was great under the circumstances.
First off, service is the best from the host to our servers everyone was great. Our waiter did a great job explaining the menu and selling it and also very attentive. Ordered the oysters which was delish! They clean it well there. I did have the house special noodles which I wasn't a fan off because of the texture of the pasta. I prefer mind aldente! My friend ordered the steak and it was mediocre. I would come back to try out the rest of the menu because of how great the service was.
Greenwich Project is probably more of a 3.5, depending on what you order. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night with a group of 5. It was surprisingly empty for 8pm so while our reservation was helpful we could have walked in. Got a great drink at the bar while we waited for our party. All the cocktails we tried were great, particularly the BKLN '76 (Gin or Vodka, Rosemary Honey, Lemon, Lavender Bitters, Sparkling Wine) which was refreshing and not too sweet and the Pawnee (Gin, Lemon, Honey Syrup, Fig Bitters, Egg White) which had a nice complex flavor profile due to the melon and fig bitters.
They recommended sharing a couple of starters and then ordering individual entrees, so quickly picked out the fried risotto balls, which were tasty with a nice dipping sauce, and the crispy brussel sprouts which were delicious but a little salty.
My friend W and I shared two of the pasta dishes – a special, which was cavatelli and duck in creamy sauce with swiss chard and a squid ink spaghetti with tomatoes and prawns. The squid ink spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente but the sauce was a little under-seasoned. Unfortunately, the cavatelli was VERY salty, so much so that I ate a few bites but would have really struggled if it had been my main course. We also got a side of swiss chard which was equally over salted.
Dessert was mixed as well. Thanks to my Yelp check-in we got the beignets for free which were amazing – warm with great vanilla and caramel dipping sauces. The brownie sundae was good but the execution could have been better- the brownie was really hard (like crunchy hard) and it felt like there was a 1:1 ratio of ice cream to whipped cream, which if you get a sundae isn't really what you're looking for.
Service was fine, though they seemed to keep forgetting our drink orders which was annoying as we could literally see the bar from our table. I'd be willing to come back for brunch but wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Loved the Greenwich Project. My fiancé and I met a few friends here and found the ambiance and service to be amazing. I had a few glasses of wine and shared some appetizers, all were satisfactory, especially the oysters & king crab legs.
I am so incredibly impressed with this lovely restaurant! We reserved a table for a party of 9 and it grew to a party of 13. Rather than being uptight and snooty, the server was so kind and understanding of the situation and given that it was NYC Pride Parade Sunday, I assume he was prepared for whatever came his way. We were able to go outside and dance it up and watch the parade pass us by and head back inside to drink and cool down in the AC. We were there for several hours and never once did the server make us feel as if we were a hassle. We may have eaten fairly early on in our experience but we kept on ordering drinks, so how could he be mad. Right? The food was absolutely delicious; I ordered the steak sandwich on a baguette bread with sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and provolone cheese and truffle and pecorino fries. The steak was so tender, so flavorful, so amazing and the fries were truly delicious. For drinks, we kept on ordering pitcher after pitcher of the East Side which is made with vodka, cucumber, lime, and a hint of mint; it was refreshing and delicious on an incredibly hot day. I also noticed that there was a private room upstairs where there was a party and every single one of those ladies left smiling, so it seems as if everyone has a great experience there. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for superb service, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding food.
This is an excellent spot for brunch. The upstairs is quite, downstairs lively and crowded. Take your pick, but whatever, the food is quite good. Lots of variety. Good baked goods as well. Good for those on a diet too.
