  1. Good coffee — ordered an iced latte! The coffee is super smooth and there are quite a few offerings available (but not a lot of seats to sit at!) . The coffee was not very strong though, it did not give me that "wake up" feeling. They also offer doughnuts but I would definitely come back to have coffee and a pastry. My only complaint is regarding the vibe of the location — it was a bit cold and stand-offish. I blame it on the fact I stopped by early on a Sunday, but it was a bit off-putting.

  2. Great iced almond milk latte!! One of better tasting lattes I've had in New York. I believe they used counter culture coffee. Pretty small store with only a few seats and a small case of pastries

The focus is definitely on the coffee. My friend enjoyed her iced coffee a lot too! Pricing is typical. A latte will run you ~$5-6. Almond & soy are both available for non dairy options.

The store itself is more modern/ minimalist rather than ' cozy'

Overall a great cafe serving good coffee. Will return if in the area.

  3. On the edge of Chinatown / Little Italy / SoHo is this tiny, bright coffee shop that makes me smile every time I walk in. What they lack in searing, they make up for in a killer chai, cortado, and latte each and every time. The staff are sweet, and they make a good cup to go real fast. Also they take credit cards on Square, win!

  4. Been meaning to try this place for the longest time and finally got the chance too. The place is really nice and small. Good place to just hang out with some friends for a bit. They have wifi too! I got an iced latte, which hit the spot well! Will try to come back again for my coffee fix.

  5. Hmmm Happy Bones.  The Instagram darling to coffee bloggers (I don't blame them – the space is super modern and pretty) and the spot I see a certain A-list celeb way too many times to count.

They make a mean latte – iced or hot. I like how they don't charge extra for almond milk. it's one simple price.  The space is pretty small. Best for coffee to go or for a few minutes with a friend.  I wouldn't hang out here all day.

Definitely worth checking out if one is in the neighborhood. It's only a matter of time before someone puts this spot on their TV show and it blows up.

  6. I'm so jealous of NYC and the mind blowing coffee shops on every block. We had just left one coffee shop and my sister insisting on checking out the coffee shop with tortoise shell spoons. And since she doesn't drink coffee, I was once again shelling out $4 for a flat white. At least Happy Bones didn't disappoint me with their espresso.

The interior was tiny and simple and hipster. There's limited seating but we had no problem grabbing a small table. Everyone inside the shop seemed to know each other in some way or other, which was unexpected. But I'm sure there are probably more than a few regulars here.

My sister was super disappointed that my drink did not get served with a tortoise shell spoon, because that was all she wanted in life. In Happy Bones. Do it for the Insta!

The flat white was smooth, the latte art was on point. Overall, a successful coffee adventure.

  7. This coffee spot didn't wow me and the mix of positive and negative aspects gave me a "meh" vibe.

The exterior of Happy Bones is noticeable and attention-grabbing but not inviting: I was able to identify where this place was through its logo drawn on its chalkboard sidewalk sign. I was here to network/chat with somebody and we had to go elsewhere because this place was packed on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm. It's a pretty small space with 3 low tables for two people per table. Don't let the photos on the Happy Bones website fool you: they make this cafe look spacious when it actually isn't, as you'll recognize in person.

Even though there was a line to order, I was glad that it moved rather quickly, because the staff workers were pretty efficient. I got the smaller sized chai latte, yet I paid around $6 for it (excluding tip), so the price point was off for me.

I'm ambivalent about coming back to this spot, since my experience was so mixed: the pros were that my drink was tasty and I ordered it quickly, but there was a lot about Happy Bones that didn't resonate with me. I'm glad I gave this place a try!

  8. Yay Sunday run! So happy to run into this cute little bone in little Italy. Seems to me that every single one of the coffee shops in this neighborhood never failed me before and this one kept on this consistency.

Menu was simple yet clean, and cups adorably designed – they even featured special paintings in the cup during special holidays.

Originated from NZ, happy bones naturally present a feeling of freedom and happiness. I would love to return and try their flat white!
