  1. Met a friend who works in Midtown at Jack Doyle's after work. We sat at the bar and just got drinks, no food. The place was super super loud and overflowing with a mix of Rangers fans and after work business professionals. Basically all the seats in the bar section of the restaurant were taken with additional people crowding the bar. The drinks were good and the prices for happy hour were great for midtown. They also had some sort of raffle for… surprise…Rangers tickets.

Jack Doyle's wasn't really my scene so I don't think I'll be back in the future. But it worked for the situation. If you're really into sports and love chest bumping other men in the same Jersey as you while consuming brews and eating Irish fare … this is probably your place.

  2. We came here after work on a Saturday evening, which by the way is very conveniently located 3 blocks from my job. There was a Rangers game going on that night and they had big screens and a bunch of fans partaking in the merriment.
We ordered a few appetizers including the crab cakes and chicken quesadillas, both were ample in portion and tasty. They looked like they had a nice cocktail selection but it was a Tito's kind of night. The beers on tap also looked plentiful. We will save it for the next time.
I would like to go back and have a meal there next time. I would think it's a great place for large groups as well because it's really spacious, you won't get that cramped feeling at the bar. We mostly stayed up front near the bar but it looked pretty hopping towards the back. The service was great, our waitress was sweet. I would definitely come back here after work with some friends and have dinner. You can't beat the location, it's a nice go to mid-way place to meet since it's midtown and you have every train right there including the Jersey trains.

  3. I came here a few times this past fall to watch Vikings games. They're one of the only bars in the city that'll show them, so automatic props to them for that. But, other than that draw, I can't imagine stopping by here. There just doesn't seem to be a ton of character about this bar. I think they really get by on location…being a sports bar right next to MSG, I can't imagine it's too hard to get people to come by. But, it doesn't seem like the kind of place that inspires many regulars.

When I was here, I pretty much only ordered off the special little menu they put out for Vikings games, which includes Grain Belt beers (awesome job repping Minnesota guys!) and some $5 appetizers. The $5 apps are awesome for a quick bite, but be aware that they're SMALL. The chicken fingers are literally four, small chicken fingers, and the mozzarella sticks also come as a plate of 4. I mean, you can't complain, because they're $5, but just be aware of it. The plus side is that they also all come with some fries, so that's cool.

All in all, not a bad spot to watch a game, but nothing special either. Lots of screens though, and they turn the volume up for big games!

  4. Went last night last minute after a dance class in the area. It was super packed which was great compared to the 3 empty and boring bars we looked into before we wounded up here.

We had a few drinks and an order of fries before we left but the bartender was pretty attentive considering the amount of people that were there and it didn't smell like stale beer so it's a win for me. Lol

  5. Convenient stop on my way to the train from work. Great little pub with decent beers on tap and a fair happy hour.

  6. New York has so many restaurants, its almost impossible to tell what is good and what isn't. After several minutes of looking for a restaurant close to the Megabus drop off, we found this place; based on the yelp ratings.

The cool part about this Irish bar was that our server was from Ireland. How authentic lol. He had the real accent and everything. The drawback was I had to listen intently to actually understand what he was saying.

However, back to the restaurant and not the server. The food was just ok, hence the 3 star rating. Even though I'm writing this review, it was nothing to write home about. The burger was just ok. The traditional fries and sweet potato fries were just ok. I ordered ginger ale because there were no non-coke products available, ie sweet tea, lemonade etc. The New York cheese cake dessert was just ok. Almost forgot, the buffalo wings were good. So there are levels to this rating game.

    Amazing

Overall, everything was just ok. Wont be back… no offense 🙂

  7. Stopped by for happy hour, before a Knicks game.. The place has a nice casual atmosphere, so great place to just unwind with a few drinks after work or before catching a game at MSG. Quick service and staff came at a timely manner when drinks started to run low.

  8. We popped in here for a drink and a quick bite to eat before a concert. We ate upstairs and, like most NY bars, it had a cool, dark atmosphere. My beer was cold and the shrimp tacos I ordered might just be the best I've ever had! They were served with a spicy pink sauce and some other indistinguishable mayo-like sauce which was also very good.
