  1. Stumbled upon this place while in the area and looking for a place to grab lunch. It's a little hole in the wall that you'll miss if you drive too fast, but it's definitely a must if you're looking to get full on some delicious food.

There are about 10 tables and chairs set up and you're immediately smacked in the face with the smell of rotisserie chicken upon walking in. All of the locals seem to love this place as there was a steady rotation if people coming in and out.

I had an order of vegetable fried rice and a side of baked plantain. Both were delicious.. My only complaint is that both dishes were very salty, especially the plantain. Otherwise, everything was delicious and the portion sizes are insane! You're certainly getting your money's worth in here. Great spot.

  2. Came tonight for dinner for the 1st time – recommended to me by a friend of mine. Luckily I was able to find parking in front and get a table right away. Place is small but has a "homey" feel to it. Greeted right away and given menus.

Service was great- had a handsome waiter who was attentive and friendly.

Tried chichi- the house drink ( made from purple corn) Which was very good .

Ordered shrimp fried rice – which is a standard of mine at a Peruvian spot.

Had the Bistec Apanado (breaded steak) which is a fav Peruvian food for me. Meals come with white rice or potatoes or French fries or salad. Will have to venture out next time and try something new.

My friend had the Lomo Saltado ( stir fried steak with fries etc) she loved it.

Meals ,  plate  of fried rice and beverages for both of us priced to 50 bucks.

    Will definitely be back

  3. authentic Peruvian-Chinese at reasonable prices in a heavily Peruvian neighborhood of Clifton. The wonton soup is great, throw some soy sauce in it. Chaufa Especial – fried rice with shrimp and pork and veggie bits , is great, served with a delicious.but fairly hot homemade hot sauce on the side, be cautious with that. friendly service. a number of tables. finding street parking in the area can be a little tricky, particularly in snow, you may need to park a block or two away.

  4. 3rd time eating here and I have yet to be disappointed. Food is always great. Employees are all nice and accommodating.

  5. "Chifa" is Chinese/Peruvian fusion cuisine whose origins can be traced to the influx of Chinese immigrants to Peru (chiefly Lima) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Fusion fried rice and variations on wonton soups and hot pots with rich chicken stocks are examples of this food tradition.

Jaimito's is principally a Peruvian eatery with some Chifa offerings.  I went for the traditional Peruvian shrimp and conch Ceviche ($13.95)  — which was perfectly marinated in citrus, with yams and potatoes underneath and a scattering of red onions and fried corn kernels for texture.  Enough for two and excellent.

The wonton/chicken/duck soup ($7.95) with Napa cabbage had a deep poultry flavor and the duck meat was tender and richly flavored, but overall, too salty for my tastes — almost like eating bouillon cubes.  But the green salsa served with the meal was some of the best I've had — they even sell it to take out as a condiment. Plenty hot but filled with that oniony, garlicky and acid flavor that makes everything you slather with it —  pop.

The rest of the menu is loaded with all the usual Latino suspects like chicharon, flank steak, fried fish, beans and rice, etc. etc. Not really much in the way of recognizable Chinese food here (except possibly the chop suey, duck and fried rice/wontons) but you can taste the Chinese flavor profiles in many dishes — including soy, ginger and star anise.

Their beverage menu is limited to Peruvian soft drinks mostly, and I would have expected some Chinese tea — but oh well.

Pleasant place for a quick lunch with attentive service and reasonable pricing if a bit cramped. Lunch for two was $25.00 — all in.

  6. Okay so after trying a few other dishes, I have found that the best thing on the menu is their peruvian rotisserie chicken with some aji sauce and arroz chaufa. It is literally the best rotisserie chicken you can get. For that, I'm upgrading them to 4 stars.

  7. This is a real interesting spot, a mix of Chinese and Peruvian, they have some great food. I had their roast chicken and chaufa, the rice was great and the chicken was delicious, tender, and even the white meat was moist and fell off the bone. I also had the yucca fries which were unbelievable. I would eat these over fries any day, they were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and with just enough salt for me to keep wanting more. I will be back to try some more of this food.

  8. Came here after a long day of shopping. Cute little place.

We ordered the wonton soup, the Tallarin Verde with Steak & Fish.

Wonton soup was delicious, coming from a fellow Chinese person, a tad on the salty side but good. It comes with chicken, pork, duck and wontons. The duck however was mostly skin, and not really any meat.

Tallarin Verde with breaded steak, it was super good. I had to wait a while for the steak cause there was a little misshap with the order, so by the time I got it, the steak was hot and the pasta was cold. The steak was crispy, and salty and delicious. I was on the fence about the pasta, but when you pair it with the steak, godly!

    Definitely will come again!
