  1. The location is amazing. I felt like I was in Japan. The restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by greenery. The restaurant is rather large with multiple sections. One area has the sushi bar and private rooms, and the other area has the hibachi stations. We sat in the one of the private rooms, and it was perfect for the kind of dinner we were having. It allows a lot of privacy and intimacy for quiet conversations.

The low rating comes from the food. We only ordered sushi, and it was okay. It wasn't bad, by any means, but it certainly wasn't amazing. I don't think I'd go out of my way to return to Kiku based on their sushi. Perhaps the hibachi is better?

Service was great though, and if Kiku is in your area, I can definitely see it becoming a family favorite.

  2. LOVE this place. My family and I have been coming here for years, and my fiance and I love it as our go-to date night spot. Excellent, melt-in-your-mouth juicy filet mignon. You get SO.MUCH.FOOD. I almost always take some home with me. With dinner, you get a great clear soup. Best I ever had. Then you get a small salad with amazing ginger dressing. I've had ginger dressing from different sushi places, but there is something inside this one that makes it taste a little different. It's a bit tangy. With your meal, you get shrimp, veggies, lo mein type noodles and rice. I always get the fried rice and it's great tasting. The mustard they give you on the side for dipping is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I have been to plenty of hibachi style places, and none of them even come close. I would eat the mustard with a spoon. The meal also used to include ice cream, now they charge extra. I don't know how anyone still has room for ice cream after a meal like this though. The only negative thing I might say is that some of their chefs are better at preparing food than others but almost always a great satisfying meal. I just want to take one of the chefs, and the hibachi grill home with me. Yes, they do a few tricks and say some cheesy lines of which I have all memorized by now but who cares when the food is so good? I have also had their scallops, which are yummy. I've had lobster which for some reason I didn't care for as much. Their shrimps are amazing, the teriyaki and soy sauce they put on them with a little lemon for some reason taste like no other shrimp I have ever eaten. Anytime you go, you can get a table. Little harder when you have a big party but I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. Of course they get busy on weekend nights but quality is still up there.

  3. Review is strictly based on Hibachi dinning.
Been here several times for hibachi and each time we are here, we get end up with the same routine of watching the onion volcano and veggie toss, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the routine. Of course, we come here expecting to be entertained by the hibachi chefs time and time again, lol.
They offer a la carte menu as well as combo menus. They offer a full bar and a separate restaurant section. Parking is abundant and service is good. Location of the restaurant is off of scenic 9W which is a nice drive from GWB.

  4. Always a delight when I visited Kiku! Who doesn't enjoy dinner with a show?

My boyfriend absolutely loves this place and loves when we go. As a long time patron he is never disappointed in the friendly atmosphere, good food and tasty mustard sauce.

When we went, we started with sushi roll appetizers. He had the shrimp tempura roll which he devoured and I had the salmon avocado roll.

For dinner we enjoyed Hibachi with our table chef Olive. She was very nice and entertaining. We sat with a family at the table and she did well to make us all feel included. For our main course, I ordered the hibachi scallops and my boyfriend had the hibachi lobster tails. Both very delicious!

Of course each main course comes with noodles,  vegetables, soup and salad and the fried rice. We always order an extra friend rice (no egg) to go home with. When we come we always think about the yummy left overs we're sure to have. Its rare that we can even finish all of our food at Kiku so we always have lunch for the next day. Another plus for me because then it feels like two meals instead of one!

Can't wait to go back again!
