  1. I've been coming to Klong for years and have always had consistently good service. The portions are always a good size to share with friends and you still have enough to take home. It's close to Joe's and other small theaters  so it's great to have a quick meal.
I'm lame and get the not really Thai things, like the Thai salad (so good) and the Pad Thai. The pad see ew is always great.
I've gotten a lot off of the menu and have never had a problem with anything.
Come for their happy hour…which is like Happy Day. They serve happy hour until 10pm (what!) and regular margaritas are $3 and are strong. Flavored ones are 2 bucks more and you can get a large pitcher for $24. You can't beat that anywhere. No where! I"m not even a drinker and love coming here for happy hour.
Anyway, the food is good, the decor is really nice and the service is good.

  2. A foodie friend of mine insisted I come here for "the best drunken noodles in the city". She may have oversold it slightly, as I felt Klong was basically a standard Thai place. The food was good but unspectacular. The service was pretty terrible (waitstaff was unfriendly, had to be reminded of things). The atmosphere was generic.

The "authentic menu" had many items I had never tried, including a few curries made without coconut milk. If I was more impressed with the place, I would've liked to return to try some of this menu, as we stuck to the traditional menu for our first visit.

    The food:
Chicken satay – Sauce was rich and buttery. Not overly sweet or peanuty. Chicken wasn't particularly juicy or tender.
Penang curry – Good flavor. Standard amount of spice for a Thai curry dish (aka spicy as hell). The chicken was a tad dry, but not like the Sahara or anything like that.
Drunken noodles- Overall solid fish. The meat (I got beef) was not particularly tender or flavorful, but the noodles themselves were as delicious as drunken noodles always are to me (I'm minorly obsessed).

  3. Unbeatable happy hour prices $3-$5 for mimosas, margaritas, beer, mojitos, wine- drinks are tasty and decently sized and if you're having a meal you can order happy hour meals to your table! really delicious authentic thai- the pad see ew with shrimp is my fave! gorgeous decor and chill vibes!

  4. Not a big fan of this place – it was cheap and had no wait, but some of their dishes were really salty. The food seemed fine at first but by the end of the meal, I was drinking tons of water both at the restaurant and back at home. 2.5/5 stars.

Klong has all of your typical thai dishes – noodles, curry, etc. the best thing I had here was actually the calamari. Everything else was OK. I wouldn't really come back here though, and wouldn't really recommend it to anyone if you have other options – which you should, this is Manhattan.

As other reviewers have said, they have GREAT happy hour specials, and the service was good too. Come here for the drinks, but try another place for dinner.

  5. First time trying the food here. Ordered my usual pad see ew noodle dish with chicken. The chicken was overcooked and dry white meat, but the noodles were exactly how I expected it to taste. I didn't expect their portions to be so big though! Great place for filling Thai food and cheap drinks during their happy hour. A pitcher of the mango margarita was enough for about 5 glasses!

  6. I come here at least once a week for HH because I am a serious wine lover, but I'm choosing to update my review now because the server finally remembers me! He's a particular server, and I'm not sure if he recognizes me or my friend or both of us, but regardless, I was feeling special.
Yesterday was the first time I ever had to wait for a table, but because it was only 2 of us, we didn't have to wait long. Various servers would come to ask us if we wanted more drinks or to order more food and sometimes we'd have to tell them that we already told another server. But at the same time, because there's so many servers available for you, you never really have any trouble waving someone down.
They seem to find my friend & I very amusing because we order lots of drinks. They give us a coy smile when they ask us if we want another glass. And one of them joked that next time they'll just bring two bottles of wine and let us pour it ourselves.
We only ordered one appetizer and they did not seem to mind at all. We always stay for at least like two hours and it never is a problem! This time, the particular server who recognizes us would even stop and talk to us every once in a while.
The only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars (even though I want to) is because the food is just your standard good Thai food, sometimes a little too salty. The service is so great though (even before they recognized me).

I still don't get why this place doesn't come up on google searches for HH's that go until late, or best HH deals. At the same time, I don't want to wait for a table every time I come so maybe it's better that it stays that way.

  7. I thought one of the waiters was extremely rude. He didn't welcome us into the restaurant but kept asking if we were planning on ordering food even though we already said yes so many times. It was as if he didn't believe us. Pretty irritating. We decided to go inside because we saw the $3 mojitos deal which was pretty sweet. Since it was four of us, we got the mojito pitcher for $25. They were pretty strong and not bad at all. As for the food, we had the pad see ew and we loved it! It was the lunch special so it was only $8.95. It came with 2 spring rolls and salad so we were very happy with that. Great place to catch up with friends. We spent 2.5 hrs there.

  8. I suppose I'm being generous here with 4 stars. I walk by this place all the time, but I had never been due to the mediocre Yelp reviews. The two Thai places I wanted to go to were closed so I settled. I ordered chicken pad see ew to go with a Thai iced tea. Both were pretty good–standard Thai food. There was nothing special or extraordinary about the food, but I would come again.

I can't speak for the dine-in experience or the waitstaff, but the interior was cool and the host was attentive and efficient. My food came out really fast. I was in and out in 10 minutes.
