  1. La Parma in this location stood out in terms of service. They cater to a serious group of diners that expect alot, and they deliver.

From valet service to waiter service it is exceptional – comparatively.

    Food is equally impressive.

I prefer this La Parma over Huntington's. They had double valet's on both sides of the car, kept pouring wine with cool mature waiter flair.. …. made the most sensational veal chop before I stopped eating veal… and made you feel like something great was happening…..

The other La Parma is good too for food etc… Williston is better to impress someone. I was wowed by their old world service.

  2. Excellent, was driving through the area and wanted Long Island Italian food.  Service was great, food was amazing (calamari very very good!). Place is clean.  A nice variety.  Dishes are huge size!

  3. Always a classic spot to hit. My brother in law introduced this spot to us 6+ years ago and we come here every so often. My family never goes out for Italian but if we do, La Parma is were we go.. And for those who don't understand, real Italians don't go out much for Italian.. If they do it has to be a good spot. La Parma is that spot for me. Check them out of you want some good Italian, oh and just like mamas house all portions are Family Size..

  4. One of the best Italian family style restaurants I have ever been to. Food quality was fantastic! We indulged, with mussles, stuffed artichokes, fried calimari, steaks, chicken parm, pasta with meat sauce, pasta with clam sauce….the sauces with their breads were so good, I could have just taken that home.  Not a place I can go to often but definitely a great place. Atmosphere and staff was very friendly and attentive. They sang happy birthday to almost every table.  Must be a popular birthday place…I would come back for my birthday!!Valet parking at the front door and a nice bar to wait for you table at. I put this one on my highly recommended list.

  5. Came here for a dinner for a party of 10(5 couples).  The restaurant was busy on a Wednesday night, so things looked promising.  The decor was dated and not the cleanest but I guess it kind of fits the charm of the place.  The waiters are definitely old school with heavy Italian accents, they spoke so fast I could barely understand them.
Here are the things we ordered:

2 calamari – fresh and pretty good
2 La Parma salads – it was okay but the table seemed to enjoy it
    1 Penne a la vodka – good
1 Linguine with white clam sauce – good but where were the clams
1 Pasta with seafood sauce – the seafood was not fresh, definitely frozen
2 chicken parms – very small for the price
    1 Eggplant parma – i've had better
1 Veal La Parma – ok
1 chicken scarp off the bone with sausage and peppers – not very good.
    2 bottles of wine

Here is why I gave it 2 stars.  The food was very subpar.  Everything was bland….did they run out of salt or something?  Every dish needed some salt or additional seasoning.  It makes me think that the head chef wasn't there and some sous chef was cooking off the recipes without tasting the food.  Very disappointing.  The waiters also speak very fast and will try to get you to over order, which happened to us.  We could have done without 2 meat dishes since we had so much to take home.  They even added sausage and peppers to the chicken scarp when I don't even recall being asked that.  Or maybe I was when he was running through his sentences.

Bottom line – the food here is not very good, don't ask the waiters if the amount of food is enough because they'll have you over order, and how is a chivas $13 a glass when a glenfiddich is $12?

Our bill was $600 with tax and tip.  Would have been worth it if the food was better.

  6. Speaking from an Italian point of view, this food is authentic and really good. Family style sharing and great wine selections. Although my artichoke was tough, everything else I have had here on multiple visits has been good. Great place to host a big get together but make reservations as early as possible. Not the biggest lot but they use the neighboring lots for VIP parking.

  7. Great and very busy family style restaurant. The bar is nice to relax with friends while you wait for your table. The service is great and are always pleasant to talk with. The huge menu is on the wall and tells you all you need to know. Appetizers, Main Courses, Prices and so on. Portions are decent in size for a family style restaurant. I've never had a complaint about that. There house wine is delicious and is nice for a group of friends at the table with dinner.  Two of the dishes I have to say is a must order though is the Calamari Arrabiata and the Shrimp La Parma. I think the next time we get there we are just going to get quite a few dishes of those to share and that would be fine! Everything is great though. Never a bad meal at this place. Make sure to call for reservations so you don't wait too long. The smell of all this food while you wait will drive you insane.

  8. Always packed on the weekends. My family and I used to go here a lot when we lived on Long Island. SERIOUSLY.. the best italian food I've ever had. It's a family-style restaurant so you order a bunch of different things and share with the whole table. Their minestrone is amazing. It has left and will forever leave an imprint on my mind- that's how good it is. Caesar salad is delicious- but don't get it if you don't like anchovies. Their stuffed mushrooms are amazing, seafood linguine with red sauce… drool drool drool!
