  1. I gave this place a try on Christmas Eve, so right off the bat, I know this wasn't a typical night. This eatery might typically be crowded … or perhaps they are always this empty … but we gave it a try, having read some decent reviews here and there.

Both of our meals were tasty, and the red wine that we paired with them was a good choice. I had my go-to yellow curry with chicken, which was yummy and plentiful.

The service was decent, but once we wanted the check, it seemed as if they just preferred to leave us alone.

I would potentially return here, but I do love other Thai places a bit more.

  2. I Love Thai Food! Every time I look at a menu, my eyes bug out and I want to get one of everything. I always stick with the Pad Thai as a gage if the restaurant is good, and if so then I will go again. I always secretly hope everyone gets something different so I can try their food.

Lemon Leaf… I came for my Birthday Lunch after reading it's reviews online. I over-hyped it in my head. Our Eat-In pre-order was made as take out. When we arrived they just dumped it on a plate.

Som Tam Esan (Papaya Salad): When it arrived at the table, it looked kind of brown. Bad sign. And it looked limp, like it was sitting there all day. Upon eating it, it was soggy and did not taste like much. Upon closer inspection, half of the salad was crispy noodles, it was so soggy that it looked like the consistency of the soggy papaya shreds. Almost, one of the worse Som Tam's I've ever had.

Tom Yam Goong (Soup): The ONLY delicious thing I had. Flavored perfectly. I wanted to pour it in my Pad thai because it was so good and my noodles were so cotton dry. Well, the Mango chicken was pretty good too but that wasn't my meal.

Shrimp Pad Thai: The shrimp were plentiful but the little flavorless kind, I would rather have just 2 nice sized shrimps then these baby shrimp. The two in the soup were HUGE and delicious. The noodles broke when you pick it up, soggy. The sauce was non existent. I would easily say, this is one of thee worst Pad Thai's I have ever had. I asked for extra spicy and mine was not spicy at all, we believe they mixed up the plates – not cool… the other person could not eat their meal.

To be fair to Lemon Leaf's loyal customer's, I will upload photos of the food to go with my review.

I would go back but would never order the Som Tam or Pad Thai again.

  3. Meh. I've experienced better.. lol so I love Thai food and Lemon Leaf failed to blow me away or make me feel like OMG I have to have that again..

The pad thai was super dry. I actually hate that when there's absolutely no remnant of a sauce and all the noodles clump together. It was lacking in flavor and I know I requested it to be made spicy and they didn't succeed in that either.

They have a couple of bad reviews from people complaining about how sweet their food is and I honestly should've taken the warning. My bf wanted a sweet dish and I ordered him the mango chicken and it was super sweet. Dessert-like almost. The chicken was good and it was a good sauce but you definitely have to keep a glass of water close by. There were chunks of mangoes inside of the dish and that's probably what made it so sweet.

I ordered the shrimp dumplings and although I liked the fact that they give a nice big whole shrimp– it was lacking serious flavor and had too much dough on the dumplings. I actually had to pull some dough off to get the taste of the shrimp.

i wouldn't be in a hurry to return or order from here again. It wasn't horrible but I've had way better Thai food.

  4. Ordered for delivery through the Grub Hub app. The app highlighted recommended dishes and favorites, which I tried. Food came in timely fashion and was very filling and fresh tasting. It is not typical takeout food. Looking forward to dining there in-person.

    Good:
    -6 Piece Curry Samosa
    -6 Piece Khanom Jeep [Pan-Fried]
    -Mango Chicken
    -Drunken Noodle [Chicken]
-This was plenty for 2 people

    Bad:
    -None

  5. Probably the best Thai food I have ever had the sticky rice is out of this world some of my other favorites are the shrimp pad Thai and the peanut chicken so fresh and tasty and delicious always get extra peanut sauce for everything !If I could bathe in it I would!Lol The bartender makes nice potent drinks to wash everything down and the staff is always friendly and accommodating just a nice quaint little Thai place that serves up flavorful food with attentive service delicious drinks in a well decorated nice atmosphere in the heart of Mineola, what more could you ask for?stop reading this review and go eat!you'll thank me:)

  6. This place is one of my favorite Thai spots on Long Island.  Discovered it when I used to work in the area about 8 years ago, and we used to order into the office for lunch on the regular. I don't work around there anymore, so when I have a craving I have to jump in the car and trek it to Mineola.

Here are the 3 dishes that single-handedly  won me over.

    Yam Pla Muk
(grilled calamari, mint, basil, chili salad)

    Nuer Pahd Nam Mun Hoey
(sliced beef, black beans, mushrooms, ginger, over a bed of spinach)

    &

    Pad Thai

I always tend to judge a Thai place by their Pad Thai.  After all, it's a staple of Thai food, and if you can't get it right, your other food probably isn't much better.
This place HANDS DOWN makes my favorite Pad Thai.  They give you soooo many shrimp, its not too sweet and has some spiciness to it, plenty of peanuts/egg/tofu.

Def. NOT stingy with the portions.

I've had the majority of menu items, and they were all good, but these are usually my go-to.

    Reasonably priced.

Do not come here for the atmosphere…The pink tablecloths are horrible lol.

  7. I just dined here for the first time, it was a Saturday afternoon and I was with my family. The restaurant was empty, only one other couple dining there.
The decor was good, it fit the bill for what a Thai restaurant should look like. On the other hand, z100 playing in the background was odd.
The menu had many delicious and expected offerings, plus they offer lunch specials at low prices.
We started with an order of mini spring rolls and a shared order of Pad Thai (unfortunately my family can't get past this dish and we have to order it every time lol). The mini spring rolls were good, but nothing special. The Pad Thai was about as average as it gets, but still good.
I had a bowl of soup which was a spicy coconut broth with chicken and mushrooms. The soup was served insanely hot, but once it cooled it was delicious!
For my entree I had the spicy basil duck. The dish tasted great overall, but there was very little duck in it and a ton of onions. My wife had the chicken Massaman curry. The chicken was moist and the curry had good flavor, but again there was way too much onion in the dish. As for the rest of my family, I don't remember exactly what they ordered. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. This is not the best Thai restaurant that I have ever been to, but I would definitely come back.

  8. Thai isn't my favorite food, but once in a while I will crave the combination of flavors that Thai food provides.

My favorite dish is gai pat prik king, which is Chicken with String Beans with chili paste and basil. My wife likes the Chicken Massamum which is a hearty chicken and potatoes curry with coconut milk. The Massamum is good as well, but I prefer the version a SriPriPrai up the road on Hillside Avenue in Williston Park since they use chunks of chicken and not the sliced as presented here.

The Tom Yam Goong soup is decent, with a nice balanced sour to spicy flavor, but with only two shrimps – c'mon, it feels a little cheap.

The place is usually empty, but that isn't a sign that food is bad its just that most people order delivery or takeout for some reason. If you are fan of pink and wood decor then this is the place for you! The service is usually very friendly and its a good place to go if you are hiding out. lol

I order the curry samosas here and that was a real downer since they were literally soaked in grease to the point of being nearly inedible. It came with a curry dipping sauce which made the app even heavier. I seen other thai places give a sweet/sour (perhaps with cucumber?) thin dipping sauce that helps cut the heft this dish.

Fairly decent. If I was able I would have give 3.5 stars for the knocks stated above..
