Here is a great little gem of a place in the Northern section of Yonkers where you can find some pretty good Spanish food comparable to what you'd find in a good Bronx restaurant. They have chicken grilling in the front with the luncheon/buffet counters with the typical Spanish fare of beef & chicken stews, Yucca fritters, Empanadas, Coquitos, various rices, beans, steaks, etc…
Lola's is run by a husband and wife team who put their heart into the food and you can taste the results and the prices are reasonable. If you had gone there last year when they first opened because they were going through the learning curve and things took long then you should give them another try. They spent the year paying their dues and they have their operation going smooth as silk now.
Update 07/15/09: They've just renovated the place to accommodate some new offerings on their menu including specialized coffees, tropical fruit drinks including Batidos and Morir Sonandos. Check them out they've become a real gem.
