  1. Lucky Strike is an awesome place for Birthday party's, pregaming before a night club or just an outright date. Its set very dim in lighting and the venue is very large. The music they play are some really cool tracks from the 70's, 80's, 90's to current that we all can appreciate.  Prices for activities are very inexpensive. Shoes are free if you check in on yelp. Activities they offer are bowling, ping pong and pool. Food is pretty good and inexpensive. Menu consists of mostly appetizers and solid burgers. Beer and alcohol selection is pretty decent.

  2. I love the vibe of this place. It's hip and modern. There are cool lights and great music. The area we were in had a pool table, shuffleboard, and billiards. It was fun!

We had a lot of food including pizza, chicken tenders, veggie plate, dumplings. These were just ok.

  3. Came to Lucky Strike for a kiddie birthday party. They have security at the door and he even notified us it was crowded today so there may be a wait. The wait was about 20 minutes, ordered some wings and pizza while we waited. The pizza was a flatbread pizza, not what you see all the time at a bowling alley and the wings came either baked or fried and had 5 different sauces you could choose from. When we got to the lanes it was very low lighting – I remember commenting to my friend that this was definitely a date night spot because it was dark and basically only the lanes were highly visible. Tons of lanes (more than 20) and seating is adequate if no one has the lane next to you, if not then you're going to be on top of each other.
After they were set up with the shoes I ditched my kid and went to the bar inside the facility. The service was friendly and prices were reasonable considering we're inside a bowling alley and on 42nd street. I ordered a quick snack and got the Irish Nachos Fries that was recommended by the waitress and the closest thing to cheese fries. It came with guacamole, pica de gallo, chilis, Oaxaca, and white cheddar cheese – it basically tasted like guacamole fries because I tasted that more than anything and there was barely any cheese on it… I mean really, who does nachos without cheese???…

Overall it was a good visit expecially to excape the rain. The staff in the entire place was friendly, even gave us candles and a lighter for our cake… I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday party or even just to hang with friends because they have good deals during the week.

  4. I enjoy going to lucky strike. I've been here a couple times now. Each time was for a party and we brought a decent sized group. They charge by the hour which is good of you're with a group trying to get the most games in. Sucks when you're with people mostly socializing because you lose a lot of time finding them or getting their attention "Yo, it's your turn!." And it's not cheap! But for a location on 42nd St and the West side hwy it makes sense.
There's a bar and lounge area near the entrance. The food isn't bad but it's basic bar foods. No restaurant styled foods. There's a DJ set up at the border of the lounge and the pool tables, so I know this place gets Lit on the weekends. There's over 20 lanes of bowling fun. Cool graphics on the screens. And a few pool tables. They have a great vibe for the party bowler, I enjoy it

  5. In full disclosure, I actually hate bowling. It brings back repressed childhood memories of being forced to attend various kids' birthday parties/events at a bowling alley like it was a special treat and having to suffer the public humiliation of bowling terribly, over and over again while your friends either laughed at you or pitied your pathetic efforts. Not traumatizing or anything.

Ahem. Anyway. So there's no logical reason why a self-professed bowling hater should ever set foot in a place like Lucky Strike, save for one reason only: free corporate event. As in, you can go to a place and drink or you can work! Well, in that case.

So bottom line, I was only there to eat, drink, and hang out with my friends. Has this review been unhelpful enough yet?

But I will say this: this is actually a pretty neat place for people who want to go bowling (i.e., not me). The setup works really well for group and private parties. We had a curtained off section with lots of couches and a ping pong table and pool table just for us. Altogether, our party used two bowling lanes but could have had three. The servers were on top of things the entire time. They took our drink orders and brought each person their drink, no matter how much people were moving around. They were prompt and remembered everyone's orders and kept checking in with everyone. Food platters were also brought out and replenished at regular intervals. The food is mostly just okay, though. Your typical bar food, chips and dip, meats and veggies on skewers, little bite-sized fried things.

All in all, my friends and co-workers had an enjoyable time bowling. I had an enjoyable time not bowling. Everybody wins.

  6. First and definitely not the last time I go here. Went with a few friends and family to enjoy a few rounds of bowling and a few…..well many drinks lol. Our waitress was a tad slow but in her defense my group ordered many drinks and good amount of food. The Belgian fries were great but the condiments were even better. The pigs in a blanket were also pretty good. Drinks were decently priced. I Recommend going during Happy hour which is between 8p-10p if I'm not mistaken. The place itself was nice and clean. Music was enjoyable. They also honored my friend military discount which I thought was cool.

  7. Had a great time for a few hours during which my party dropped $980. But then a manager named Jonathan (or so I'm told that's his name- skinny guy with a shaved head and a black tee with white writing) killed it.

After my corporate party left, 3 other friends and I wanted to buy a game or hour of bowling. We asked Jonathan what our options were. He rolled his eyes, said it would cost $75 for an hour of bowling and laughed (as if us 4 doctors couldn't afford it). There were at least 10 lanes open next to us, which were hemorrhaging money- no one waiting or coming in the front door. A little bit of flexibility would have been appreciated, but even if his hands were tied, his attitude should have been more welcoming. He should be constantly working with customers to try to take as much money as possible, or at least being nice to them. 4-5 stars for this place turned to 2, simply because of his actions.

Jonathan- I hope this review from an Elite gets to you and you change how you act.

  8. My friends and I came here yesterday and I have also been here for a work party. It's a fun atmosphere with pretty decent music playing. There are your typical laser type lights that are in every bowling alley and there are giant screens above each lane playing different ads, etc. Graphics come up on the screens keeping scoring after every play. The staff are very on top of everyone making sure everyone is taken care of. There is a large bar separate from all the lanes. You can eat food here or get food brought to your lane. The choices are your typical bar food. The bathrooms could stand to be a bit cleaner but overall this is a well kept facility.
