M2M

“Like Sunrise Mart, M2M is a great store in the area for some Asian goods that you would otherwise have to go down to Chinatown to find.”

“What's best is that they have the best mochi ice cream in the freezers – Mt.”

“They also have almost all the Asian groceries I've ever needed and others I've never heard of.”

  1. I have not eaten the food there.  This review of M2M is solely as a grocery store.

M2M is definitely convenient, but I'm not sure that I would call it a "convenience store."  It's packed with much more.  There is an excellent selection of kimchi, Japanese & Korean candies and snacks, Asian condiments of all kinds (the last time I went there was for wasabi), various soft drinks (Asian & American), teas, different varieties of rice, and so on.

The place is pretty well organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful.  While not as huge as a supermarket, M2M is larger than the usual NYC grocery store, and the aisles are not narrow.

You'd probably find cheaper prices in Chinatown or Flushing, or in Mitsuwa in Edgewater, NJ, but the prices here were decent, considering the location.

If you are looking for a convenient place to stock on some Asian foods, this is certainly a great place to check out!!!

  2. Decent sized Asian grocery store that carries Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and even Philippino food.
They have a good selection of kimchi, frozen food (dumplings, Taiwanese scallion pancakes, mocha), instant ramen. sauces and spices.
I ended up getting a can of grass jelly and frozen scallion pancakes. Unlike H Mart, there is no credit card minimum.

  3. One of my favorite places to come for certain Asian groceries, especially the kimchi. Over the years, the kimchi section has really grown. There's a pretty big variety, and you can also buy kimchi in large quantities too–like about 5 lbs worth!

There are other things here and there like popular snacks like pocky, and somen soup-base, and Japanese drinks like calpico, some grab and go meals, as well as some meats and produce. It's almost like Sunrise Mart but more Korean centric. I always find something when I stop by.

  4. I consider M2M to be more of a convenience store for Korean food and other goods of that area than anything else. They also have my favorite splurge, Matt's Munchies. At over two dollars for a roll its not a pretty purchase but they taste soooo good.

This isn't a place where I'd look for fresh goods. They have plenty of pre-made Korean dishes, snacks, and a bunch of dry goods for your needs. I wouldn't say its the best Korean food i've had but it serves a purpose, especially when its late and you are walking by and don't want to wait for a delivery.

  5. This Asian market is very spacious and clean. It is well stocked with various goods, grocery items, ready-to-eat items and snacks.

The cashiers were efficient and friendly.

Love this location conveniently located across the street from AMC 7.

  6. This location is exponentially better than the Morningside location.  They make numerous Asian foods to order and carry more options of items.  Not to mention that the aisles are wider and everything is so perfectly placed to make items easier to find.  I really really do wish that their Morningside location was this great, but if I'm ever in the area this is the stop to make for a quick snack; e.g. sushi, or for some grocery shopping.

**Note: Great pitstop to make if you're watching a movie at the theater across the street for some snacks.

P.S. The employees here are really nice and attentive.  Also, the place is kept very neat and tidy.

  7. This place is like an Asian 7-Eleven. I came here to get a classic Korean ice cream that is hard to find in NYC. Samanco is a popular fish shape ice cream snack. They have premade food that you can eat right away because they have several tables inside the store.

  8. My favorite spot for a quick Asian snack grab on the way home. Green tea kit kats and frozen mochi. Don't expect great customer service. More like a convenient store here.
