We discovered that there is a Chinatown in Flushing so we decided to go and see what it's like as I absolutely LOVE Chinese food! This place is where it's at people!! We struck out in all but 1 place in Chinatown in Manhattan. I wish we had known about this place before. I will go here first from now on! It's a hefty train ride but so worth it. This place is crowded and they can't serve the food fast enough. This is what I define as almost perfect Chinese food. And it's unbelievably cheap! The Lo-Mein is great as are the Duck slider/taco things. Not to mention the pan fried dumplings. I didn't try the fried chicken but it looks like something that would completely bury what you get at KFC!!
LOVE this place, so cheap, so fast! The only bad part is there is no line and asian ppl are the WORST at waiting their turn. especially the old ladies, it's like they've racked up enough years that they think they can just cut everyone. You gotta be loud and forceful. make eye contact, and point clearly to what you want. They also have peking duck for $1.25 -totally worth it. duck, skin, cucmber, scallion, hoisin sauce and fluffy buns. beautiful! They have fish, chicken, pork sandwhiches 2 for $3. crazy right? and decent when you are hungry They have yummy pork buns and chive dumplings, fried chicken…just EVERYTHING! good cheap oily food. I believe it's cash only Also towards the back they have all this warm lunch food over rice. i think you get to pick 3 choices
Super cheap, authentic Chinese food. This place has been updated since the last time I've been here. New tables, counters, lighting, etc. Its sooo cheap here for a quick snack or meal. I bought pork buns and a small Chinese soy milk= $3.50.
Cons: no air conditioning, crowded pushy Chinese people (be pushy back!), one of my pork dumplings wasn't entirely cooked, but the other 3 tasted amazing.
Pros: very reasonably priced, super tasty, and they have upstairs seating too. They have a takeout Dimsum, baked goodness, and a variety of meat!
Sauces are available on all the tables and there are plastic utensils and chopsticks in the back. Despite the 1 undercooked pork bun, I still come here every time I visit flushing to get my haircut (at SubImage.)
The food can be summarized as: cheap, fast, and with great variety. The place is open until late: 11-12pm everyday. Thus, this place can be considered as the Mc Donnalds/Wendy's of Chinese food. LOL
