“Outdoor seating looking out over atlas mall a plus.”

“In fact, the frankfurters and bratwursts are so big that they don't fit all on the roll – plus it comes with a generous helping of sauerkraut!”

  1. Nice staff in a small space. The pierogies were not that great but the potato pancakes and bratwurst were very good. It's a bit too difficult to get to though.

  2. Pastrami sandwich….. WOW.

I was not a fan of pastrami, until I went here!!

Stay away from the pierogies, though.

The bartender is friendly and will chat with you.  Good place to come and relax with a decent Reisling or beer.

  3. Once I discovered Manor Oktoberfest in Forest Hills, I fell in love with this place.  That said, could you imagine my EXCITEMENT when my friend told me that they have a location at Atlas Park Mall?  Well, you better believe I immediately set a date to check this location out, and within days we went and did just that.

To my dismay, Atlas Park Manor Oktoberfest is a whole lot smaller than their other outpost in Fo' Hills.  It's probably 1/5th the size.  The look is also a lot less classy, and it definitely feels more like a dive bar, than a nice and casual sit-down restaurant.  They didn't have those gorgeous blue fabric tufted chairs.  On the plus side however, this location has outdoor seating, and being located on the second floor, you do get somewhat of a view.  Stay here during sunset and you might catch some pretty sky action.  Right now however, Atlas Park Mall is under some major construction, so the view is pretty much nil, FYI.

The food is just as great as the other location.  This time, I tried the "Stueben" with turkey, and it was amazing.  Just think of a classic Rueben sandwich but substitute the sauerkraut with sauteed onions.   Speaking of which, you cannot go wrong with their beer-battered onion rings!  Crispy and light, and delicious without being oily.  On Wednesday nights, they have $5 pints of Hofbräu (there are 3-5 options, I think).  My friend had the summer ale and I had a sip of it, and it was refreshing and light, and just perfect for the season.  He had some medley of sausage links, and after trying some of those, it further proved the fact that they serve kick-ass, casual food at Manor Oktoberfest!  Oh and before I forget, of course I had SPAETZLE with gravy on the side.  (My fave)!

Service is very efficient, though not the most approachable.  At the other location Manor Oktoberfest location in Forest Hills, the servers all have pretty sunny dispositions, and they are fun to talk to.  Here, it's not really like that.  They do get busy, so maybe that's the reason they can't really engage, however, it's still a great place.  On the point of being busy, they are a heck of a lot busier than their much bigger neighbor next door, Johnny Rockets, which was virtually empty from about 7-9 pm.  Maybe they should trade places!

    3.5 Stars

  4. Best chicken fingers I ever had, truly a unique little restaurant I like their style. Truly felt cool and cozy. Awesome staff and chilled atmosphere

  5. I LOVE coming here.  This was right around the corner from my old apartment, and every time I go back to see family, I always wind up grabbing several cold beers from here.  It is all the traditional Hofbrau beers on tap.  The food is pretty good also.  You cannot go wrong with the Pastrami or Corned beef sandwiches, and their German Potato Salad is simply AMAZING!  They have a larger location in Forest Hills (on Yellowstone Blvd), with a full bar.

  6. Maybe this place is just not for me, but I have been here a couple of times and I just can't seem to like it. I've been here for private parties, as well as just to have a beer. The food is okay, nothing to rave about. I got a glass of wine and there were visible lipstick stains all over the cup. I don't expect extremely polished glasses, but a clear imprint of the lips of a lady who must have been wearing red lipstick that night is an extreme dealbreaker for me. In regards to the "restaurant" aspect of it, I wouldn't exactly label it as restaurant. There's a small area inside to eat, and a small area set up outside. Nothing special. It's actually a weird set up because the outside kind of looks like its part of the walkway and they just added chairs and tables.

Even on a Friday or Saturday night this place is not any better. The staff is friendly, I guess, but not very personable. They're odd, for lack of a better word.

The Manor Oktoberfest in Forest Hills is much bigger and they have a greater selection of drinks. The one in Atlas Mall is limited to beer/wine, and not even any good selections. Forest Hills location has live bands, and it is much livelier. If you go to both, you'll see the difference.

  7. Simple comforting German grub.  All you need is Das Boot of Späten, an order of pierogies, and a plate on jägerschnitzel, you'll be good for the rest of the night.

  8. Felt more like a sports bar than an authentic german restaurant.  Service was fine, mostly handled by the bar even if you were seated.  The food was good was really good, and from what I learned a lot of it is from a german deli the owners also have.
They do have a small beer selection which was slightly bothersome considering it was a german restaurant.  Maybe its just me, but when I go out for german food I want the atmosphere as well, and this place doesn't give that.  This place is great though if you are shopping at Atlas Park and would like some lunch.  I rate it 3.5 stars because it lacked the atmosphere and beer selection, but if you are looking for a quick german meal this place is very good.
