  1. Atmosphere: second time here and it was better then my first time! place is decorated as if your eating on Morocco. The seating are couches. It's very nice to have a conversation and dinner with friends. Great place for groups

Service: the staff was so very helpful. The service was not only great, but it was fast. Anything, you asked for you received without hesitation.

Food: We had the sultans table that came with the salad bar, Moroccan cigars, shrimp kabob, 2 entrees ( Bc it was 4 of us), dessert (assorted fruits with a crepe) and mint tea. That ran for 40$ a person. The Moroccan cigars are so good! We also had lamb and it was like butter melting in your mouth. Definitely, a lot of food options for your buck. The best part it's BYOB.

Show: great belly dancing show, dancer is very interactive with the crowd. She was very friendly and gave a great performance!

  2. My first experience having Moroccan food was at this restaurant and I cannot find one single thing that is a negative about this place.  The food was fantastic, the staff was engaging (even when we came SO CLOSE to their closing time) and the service was phenomenal.  They treated us like family and were patient with our group of 3 and allowing us to order whatever we wanted and allowed us to go back and forth as we sometimes do.  I had the lamb and a mix of other items but may I just say the lamb…the LAMB is tender, had an amazing taste and you could just tell that it was fresh and it was done right as they would have back at home.  The way I was eating the kous kous that I had along with the lamb probably made the chicken entrees think I was cheating on them because it was just so good and when I was almost full I went and entertained the chicken entrees.

The tea that is served was a first for me and it was very good.  As in – I wanted to know how it was done, how long it took, what was in it, …just everything.  I'll have to drop by this place if only to enjoy the food, the company, the Arabic music and the decor.

Five star restaurant.  You have to go to Marrakech if you have the time (or better yet – just make time for it!)

  3. Would have given a 3.5 but the service was very slow, and not attentive. I guess they were setting up for dinner when we had come. We didn't get a full menu either. We had one side that said the prix fixe and another with the berber grill & tangines.

We asked for hummus just because I love it and figured they would have it. Looking at their online menu – it would have been nice to have been able to order other things as well had we had the full menu. The hummus was a bit salty but eating it with the pita helped.

Finally, we got our water & soda after our pita (about 15 minutes after we first ordered).

We received salad with our meals which was very fresh.

My fiance ordered the Marakesh Mixed Grill (boneless sirloin, breast of chicken, kofta and assorted vegetables resting on saffron rice): The sirloin was decent, the rice was okay, but the vegetables were a bit salty.

I ordered the Lemon Chicken Tangine (marinated chicken in a blend of herbs and spices, served with saffron rice, preserved lemon and green olives). The chicken was very tender & fell right off the bone.

The food took forever considering we were the only people there (two other couples came later on).

The decor of the place was amazing. It's BYOB which is always a plus. I think it would be fun to have a get together with friends there.

  4. Nestled in an inconspicuous little strip mall area, this place is somewhere you'd only know about through word of mouth (or Yelp).

    ~ Decor ~

The space is dominated by well decorated bench seating geared towards large groups. There is plenty of room for the Friday and Saturday night belly dancer to perform her routines and for people to navigate. Most of the eating area is essentially large trays atop low tables. While it may look nice, the height makes eat awkward as you're forced to bend over while spreading your legs as your legs can't fit under the table (how's that sound for an eating experience?). To add to the experience, the table is crowded with platters and trays. I found myself having to eat  from a plate that was located under a raised tray.

    ~ Food ~

Now for the good stuff. The food was amazing. Almost everything from the hummus and babaganoush tray to the dessert was excellent from both a taste and texture standpoint. They also don't shy away from portions.

For the entrees, I would aim for any of the slower cooked dishes, either lamb dish or any of the food prepared in the tajine. The meat on these have been completely broken down. The marrow in the lamb bone has been melted out and into the food. The Moroccan chicken, unfortunately, was completely dry.

The tea and dessert were also amazing. Mint and honey made for a soothing, mellow experience. The dessert consisted of fresh fruits with a fried tortilla type chip covered with chocolate and peanuts.

    ~ Belly Dancer ~

How can you not love a good belly dancer? She worked the room with a number of routines including a tray with a lit candle on her head and Isis wings. Bringing up people to dance with her, including yours truly, ensured that everyone was engaged.  "Let's give her a haaaaand." -Marakesh MC

  5. Marakesh is awesome for dinner parties! An interior is very unique with low sofas to sit and little round tables. Belly dancing starts later at night. The dancers are doing a really good job and make sure they dance in front of every table. There is music after the show and some people are dancing.

The food is great! I love their kebabs – very juicy. You can also bring your own alcohol.

  6. I had a great experience at Marakesh, I wish I lived closer! When they started off by washing my hands in rose water I knew we were off to a good start. Our table went with the larger sampler and it was just way to much food in my opinion, but it was nice to give everything a try. The salad was okay just your standard salad. I could have just eaten the hummus, Baba ghanoush, and the eggplant dip tray and been happy. Everything on that tray was delicious. Next came the cigars and I wasn't a huge fan of the cinnamon sugar on them, we also got the veggie cigars and I much preferred those. The falafel was good! For our main dishes we got the lemon chicken, salmon tagine and lamb tagine. All three were delicious, the flavors were great, and the meat was tender.

The belly dancer was okay. I would have still had a wonderful experience even without that entertainment.

  7. I love Moroccan food and when a friend told me about this place I called my travel buddy and we took the drive here. It gets busy on the weekends and space is limited so make sure to make reservations.
Also they don't have a liquor license so it's BYOB
We were warmly greeted and sat down at a table in the middle of the restaurant.
We decided to go with the 8 course option for 40PP and as our main course we got the lemon chicken tagine.
Everything was good but I really enjoyed the Moroccan cigars. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have harira that day since is one of my favorite Moroccan dishes but maybe next time.
They had a belly dancer which was really good and she did a few dances and even got some of the customers involved.
This hasn't been the best Moroccan restaurant I been to outside of Morocco but it was pretty good.

  8. This place is beautiful! It was like walking into a Moroccan Restuarant in Morocco. The decor helped set the tune of the night. You're seatted around a gold table and there are no chairs, just couches. Arabic music playing, and walls decorated.

My friend and I came on a Sunday night and this place was empty!
Our server was very attentive and made suggestions based on us wanting to try authentic Moroccan food and not an infusion of anything. The menu was full of options for both the food enthusiast and the safe player.

For appetizer we had the chicken cigars. Absolutely delicious! It was curried chicken wrapped in what seemed to be a filo dough and fried.
Our entrees were interesting… We had the tilapia which was sautéed in a very rich, flavorful sauce, and loaded with vegetables. This is great choice for anyone. It's both a safe and traditional dish. We also ordered the lamb couscous. The meat was extremely tender and cooked well. There was a little too much fat for my liking and I did not enjoy the meat as much as I would've hoped but my friend enjoyed it.

The dessert was amazing!!! Traditional Mediterranean sweets but not overly sweet. We ordered the green tea which is a MUST.  It was loaded with fresh leaves and herbs. Without a doubt the best tea I have ever had.

No question about it, this is a solid option for a fun night. They have live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays and the food is great.
