Stopped by lunch at this newly opened place in downtown Metuchen. We walked in and were welcomed by the great staff. The first thing you notice along with the murals on the walls is that this feels like a quintessential family eatery.
They serve tortilla chips with salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really watery not sure if that is how it is supposed to be but I prefer the salsa to have a little thicker so that it stays on the chips.
I had the tacos they were fresh, juicy but were under seasoned. All their food was under seasoned but was nevertheless good.
I will be back but really hope they up the seasoning level. A good addition to the downtown hope they do really well.
-Parking was hard to find considering it was a downtown area but there are signs for a Free Public Parking lot about a block away.
-Staff was attentive to our needs and did a great job explaining the items on the menu.
-The dècor was set up very nice perfect for pictures. Overall clean and decorated well from the lights across the ceiling to the table-scape.
-Mole Poblano mole poblano | Plate was extremely hot however the food was slightly cold. The mole was a little disappointing without any depth in flavor. The chicken inside was overcooked.
-Apps | Nachos + Dip: Their home-made nachos were pretty good with their dip complementary when they seat you.
Hoping to go back and try their other dishes.
