  1. I'm surprised by all these lukewarm reviews. I came here on a Saturday night (there was no wait) and it was a great experience through and through.

Service was impeccable. Our water glasses never got past half-full, the bus boy was quick to replace all eating utensils after every course or after people accidentally dropped them (I'm also guilty as charged), food arrived quickly, and it was great.

We were given an order of bruschetta compliments of the chef, which was also delicious and a great way to start out the night.

On the night's dinner specials was a Hot Combo appetizer dish. Had to order it just because of the description – it included two clams (in shell), eggplant parmigiana and a single shrimp. Each had its own sauce, but all were on the same plate. The clams were delicious in a salty, garlicky sauce. The shrimp was in a heavy cream sauce, and the eggplant parm was self explanatory.

My buddy and I were looking for a lighter meal, so we both had tagliatelle dishes. Mine came with chicken, in a creamy green sauce. My buddy had his in a meat sauce. Mine was the better of the two, but both had their own unique tastes and I can wholeheartedly recommend either. Reasonably priced as well; most of the pasta entrees were under $18.

    Will definitely come back!

  2. I wouldve given this 5 stars BEFORE my bad experience.

My boyfriend and I came here very very often, we loved the ambiance, the food is delish, the service was professional.

THEN on Valentines Day, we knew it would be a zoo. So I called to order for pickup. I spoke to a seemingly young woman (who I've never seen before at the restaurant) she told me to hold and I waited 10minutes before finally deciding to hang up and call back again. She picks up again and tells me to wait…again. I waited another 10mins with no acknowledgement from her. I call back AGAIN and She finally picked up and I started tellin her my order, she cuts me off and places me on hold then suddenly I get hung up on. At this point..Im pissed, but I know its VDay so I'm sure it was very busy.

We decided to show up, order and wait for the food. I walk in and the place is full. No waiter or server in sight. I wait 5mins and a young girl comes out from the back. She attends to the tables first and then comes close enough to me so I can ask for her help. I told her I called several times to order and was kept on hold and I just wanted to place an order to go. She stared cluelessly at me, paused then told me i had to wait until a TABLE CLEARED and a server was ready to take my order…TO GO. I was like cant u just take my order and send it to cook??? She says No, so I grab a menu to look until I see someone else I can ask. She was clearly new. All the while I'm standing there and noone acknowledged me. Noone asked if I was being helped or needed somethng. I asked for the manager and she tells me again that I have to wait. I see him come out and he's yelling at her to clean some tables. She hurries to clean a couples table and takes away their wine glasses. He yells at her again bcuz she was supposed to leave the glasses and take the plates. She's very flustered and nervous, he's preoccupied and stressed and I'm hungry and impatient. I'm still standing at the very front of this tiny place where I stick out like a sore thumb. Three staff members are walking around, made eye contact with me and NO ONE asks me still if I need help. I finally tell the girl I NEED to order. She's sitting there folding cloth napkins and tells me shes really busy and I have to wait. I WALKED OUT.

My bf goes in and I stood in the car. He says when he went in he went unnoticed for about 5 mins. More staff was by the bar in the front cleaning and didnt even ask if he needed help. He finally asked another woman behind the bar if he can order with her and she simply said NO and continued cleaning.

Needless to say we did NOT get to order our food.

This place clearly doesnt know how to juggle customers. They mustve hired the young girl for the occasion and she failed miserably. It was especially unprofessional to yell at her in front of customers.

I will not be back again!

  3. Random little Italian restaurant on 5th avenue in Park Slope. It seems to serve cheap Italian pastas like fettuccini alfredo. But I did not eat here and cannot judge based off of their food. After a drink at the El Pollito Mexicano we were looking for a real bar and still failed because the Sheep Station claimed it was open and LIED. BOO. Stupid holidays. So we ended up back to square one. It seemed like a cute restaurant but at the same time heralded to the elderly. In fact our bartender could barely reach across the bar to hand us our glasses of wine. I felt bad. Poor old guy. But he was super friendly. And the alcohol selection here is top of the line. But also probably expensive if not included on a happy hour. Wine was about $5 and then after a glass we realized we may as well just drink in SOMEONE'S apartment since we both lived near enough.

  4. This place is so close to my apartment, I walk by nearly every day and I've never seen it very crowded, which meant I stayed away.

However, in the extreme heat of last weekend, while I was doing my laundry next door I saw that they would be playing the Eurocup final (AND rooting for Italy, which was a plus). Timidly I went inside, feeling awkward about sitting at the bar by myself.

They were more than happy to have me, and I'm glad I went in. $3 drafts were a plus, the semi-limited selection of beer was a minus. I'll give them a pass on that one, they're an Italian restaurant and their wine list looked pretty well stocked. Keeping things light, I stuck to a caprese salad. You may think that it's hard to mess up a caprese salad, but it isn't: mozzarella too runny, tomatoes not fresh, etc. Mulino did an excellent caprese, and the bruschetta they gave me was pretty fantastic too.

The staff was really accomodating (i.e. when I left for ten minutes to put my laundry in the dryer), and were good at not being OVER attentive, which is probably hard when your restaurant is mostly empty. They did end up rooting for Spain though, at the end, but when your own team is down 3-0 with only a few minutes to go, I could see why they were turncoats.

They get four stars because they had air conditioning, friendly service, and what I had was good enough to make me want to go back and try some of their heartier dishes, so I guess that means they won me over!

  5. The food is still decent here, but the service is abysmal. There were about six employees walking around the small space, but none was serving as host, so it took five-ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge and seat us. It took a further twenty minutes (and two requests) before we received menus and water. A party who had arrived much later than us received its appetizers well in advance of our table. Our appetizer plates (and too much silverware, some which we needed for the next course) were hurriedly cleared because our entrees were supposedly ready, yet we still sat waiting quite a while for the entrees. Getting our food wrapped up and the check was another ordeal. These problems with service were by no means limited to our table. The waitstaff seemed to have no method of dividing tables among themselves, such that a party next two us with two restless young children was left sitting for an inordinate amount of time before their order was taken and their food delivered. Also, the dinner special that is advertised on Menupages:–"Specials Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11pm Dinner Special on choice of appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage      19.95"–was not available on a recent Sunday.
