  1. I ordered the appetizer sampler which was delicious…

we went during a very slow time so we got some nice attention..
I ordered salmon wrapped with phyllo dough, spinach and a touch of feta. I would have preferred a little bit more feta cheese–

I must admit I am not a huge fan of salmon but ordered it because I thought it would be something others on the table would share but they were busy eating the greek pizzas they ordered (full of feta that I would have asked for to put in my dish)… I just didn't want to be annoying.. haha

But, I did like it- I wonder if it was with tilapia or flounder stuffed, think it would definitely be better. I needed a milder fish–

the lemon cream sauce on top was delicious though

I would be back and recommend you go and order meat (if you eat it) and get a gyro dish- my friend let me know it was delicious.

Between the three of us, our drinks, appetizer sampler that filled all three of us, two pizzas and my salmon entree, we paid 20 bucks each with tip..

could be a good dinner option, not what I wanted to spend during a lunch on a random day, but it was tasty and would go back to order some other things..

  2. Never had anything but delicious food whenever we have eaten here.  We always stick with the special Shrimp, feta, spinach and orzo and it's always outstanding.  I have had the Saganaki on occassion and loved it.  True the decor is not spectacular but so what?  The food is great, the service had always been very warm and welcoming and thats good enough for us.  Would definitely recommend.

  3. If Mykonos had made a better first impression, then I would have been ordering from here more often! I really enjoyed my dinner last night that was placed for delivery. I ordered the Gyro Platter, which comes with pita halves, meat, onions, and tzatziki sauce to assemble yourself (I requested no tomatoes or sweet peppers because I wasn't in the mood) with Greek fries on the side. Additionally, we ordered the cheesy shrimp app – gooey cheese + shrimp, what's better than that?  The shrimp were a really nice size (not those tiny scrawny ones). My sister got the Grilled Calamari Salad. I tried it and will definitely be ordering it in the future. Super fresh & satisfying.

  4. ~ Food: 3 ~

Mix of really good and meh. Giorgos M. and I picked up the usual apps to make sure the restaurant gets a fair crack.

Really good: tiropita (cheese pie) – perfectly flaky phyllo, fried zucchini – amazing potato dipping sauce, whipped like there is no tomorrow, tzatziki – lots of garlic

Meh: saganaki (grilled cheese) and taramosalata (roe salad) were both VERY salty, gyro from the vertical spit was a bit dry and wasn't as flavorful

    ~ Service: 4 ~

No problems with service. Nothing spectacular, though. Good group of people who take pride in their food.

    ~ Decor: 2 ~

Absolutely no effort was made to make this place look or feel good other than a good view of the vertical spit. I do recall some pictures on the wall and the paper place mats had maps of Greece.

    ~ Overall ~

This place would suffice if I lived close by. There's better Greek food out there though.

  5. Mykonos is located in a strip mall along Ridge Road in North Arlington.
Been here twice and enjoyed it both times. The owner is very friendly and accomadating.
I have had the chicken  platter both times and enjoyed it. The spinach pie was also very good. They had no problem substituing grilled veggies for a Greek salad on the souvlaki platter. Prices are reasonable.

  6. Great Greek place with lots of vegetarian options. We got the pita souvlakis and all enjoyed them. Place isn't beautiful by any means, but moderate portions and decent prices for the authentic Greek food make it worth it.

  7. Mykonos is a local gem that serves up very authentic Greek food.  They are located in a small plaza off of a main road in North Arlington and there is a shared lot for parking.  Service is friendly and very patient.

For takeout, we ordered the Grape Leaves, a small Greek salad, Moussaka, Chicken Souvlaki and Seafood over Orzo (everything rang up to ~$58).  All of the above were very good – our favorites being the Seafood over Orzo and the Moussaka).  They literally grilled us an entire package of pita to take home for all of the food we ordered.  Btw, their portions are pretty big, we still had more than an entire order of food leftover.

Mykonos is definitely a great spot for takeout and as a healthier dining out option.

  8. Food is AMAZING, great customer service, there's parking and if you go on Sunday the tanning salon next door is only $7….so you can eat AND look GREEK! lol

I don't know why this place is always empty when I go, because it's AWESOME. I love mediterranian food, and having grown up in a very diverse area, I was very doubtful that this tiny little place in snobby Bergen county was going to be any good. I'm SO glad I was wrong.

I used to drive by and never go in, because I couldn't get a good look at the interior of the restaurant from the street and then bought a Groupon, so I committed.

I can hands down say that this place makes the BEST chicken pita (about $7 – but very large and meaty) I have ever tasted in my entire life. Sultan's pita down the road has all these articles written by people and the place SUCKS. As others have mentioned the tzatziki sauce is great, and for me tzatziki sauce makes a Greek place (just don't ask for extra sauce, it'll cost you $1.25 extra for two ketchup packet's worth).

I will fully recommend the Greek salad ($8 not enough for 2 people, but good sized plate – plenty of feta, but not overwhelming). I can only eat a tiny piece of the Backlava, since it's some of the sweetest pastry I've ever had.

I can not recommend this place enough, I have since moved out of North Arlington and will drive the extra miles to get here. The Greek guy who is ALWAYS there is super friendly too; you won't wait too long either for take out.
