“Try the coconut bun, the bolopao (pineapple bun) and the little chocolate cakes (they're a little salty, love it.)”

“A lot of other Chinese bakeries reside in Chinatown but none of them has this fresh smell as you walk by.”

“*Milk Tea is amazing, but the owner suggested the HK version of it ("Gorn Sic Lai Cha") and that one is even better!”

  1. Get here early, they run out before noon. I love their croissants!
This bakery always has the most heavenly fresh baked bread smell, it's irresistible.

  2. *Must Try: Coconut Roll Cake.
*Buttery Lemon Roll Cake is good.
*Cookies are soft, and freshly baked.
*Milk Tea is amazing, but the owner suggested the HK version of it ("Gorn Sic Lai Cha") and that one is even better!

  3. This is the closest Chinese bakery to my G-Ma's house. I've always walked by, but never went inside because my favorite Chinese bakery is only a few blocks away (yelp.com/biz/manna-one-n…). I was too lazy to walk the extra blocks for coffee & breakfast so I decided to finally check this place out.

There was no one inside and only one woman working behind the counter. I thought she'd be happy to see a customer, but nope– standard Chinatown service here. This bakery is strange because they had items that would be hard to hard to find in other bakeries… but they didn't have a lot of items that would be easy to find in other bakeries. For example, they had taro-filled cookies… but no don-tot egg custards?

I wanted a Pineapple Bun, but the ones at this bakery were HUGE. Like seriously twice the size of what you would normally see, so I decided against it. For $2.70 I ordered:

    1) Coffee – Okay, but not as strong as coffee from Chinese bakeries usually is.

    2) Mini Plain Bun – Delish! Light, flaky, buttery, and melts away in your mouth with a sip of coffee.

    3) Chocolate Cake Roll – TOO moist! I know this is a strange thing to say about "Chocolate Cake," but these cake rolls are supposed to be light since they're typically enjoyed for breakfast instead of dessert. The cake roll here was too heavy. I couldn't finish it, and if you know me, you'd know that's crazy.

No more laziness! My loyalty still belongs to Manna One!
