  1. * happy hour review * – we stopped in for drinks and an appetizer after visiting the new museum. The drink specials are great — 2 for 1 per person — and the ambiance of this place is super relaxed.

There's outdoor and open window seating, and the place is super cute and has a cozy interior decor. The place is dimly lit and actually pretty romantic.

I ordered the house white and didn't love it, but it was drinkable. We shared short rib areapas. They were super oily. I would perhaps try a dinner or something next time, but likely wouldn't rush to come back here.

It was a good, fun, cheap ($40 for 4 drinks and an app) experience, but nothing mind blowingly amazing.

  2. Just went back here for Cinco de Mayo last night Definitely of my favorite spots in Nolita for trendy Mexican bites and delicious spicy margaritas. The price is just right and they have fresh fun ingredients in all of their dishes. The vibe and staff are always great  NoHo Neighborhood Staple.

  3. This is probably one of my best spot for drinks and bites in Nolita. Around the corner there are great restaurants, but this is a neat homie and fun bar, with great vibe, and delicious cocktails.

The music seems to be always Cuban friendly style (like Buena Vista Social Club). There are plenty of seating options from common bar, to a shared bar with stools all over around it, till tables for 2, 4 and groups. A few have also nice comfy chairs.

Service is fast and nice. Two lovely large restrooms, and the check arrive in a funny big box of cigars.

I highly suggested Oficina Latina for dates or small group of friends.

  4. Love the lomo parilla here and the way they do the veggies is perfect with a delicate appeal.

The portion size is perfect for me, even though the glutton me wants more.  Maybe for a guy it's too light.  This is exactly why girls are better.

    Deuces.

The back story is that I live reeeaaally close to their sista restaurant l'official Miglia or something like that, I can never remember the name.  Bad with names , good with faces type of thing.

Anyways, I wasn't a part time vegetarian at that time and had gotten some sort of salad consisting of kamut…maybe freekah, idk some sorta chewy grain with veggies.  You get me?  The colorful veggies stood out then, as they stand out again at this more Latin style restaurant and bar.  Which I gotta say, the drink pics on here look hella good but that's for another day when I'm not recovering from two pole classes and I'm still a lil hung over from the previous night which brings me to another point that there are certain food items you can and cannot tolerate when recovering from total inebriation.

Steak. I wanted, no check that, I needed steak. Needed meat.  Needed to recover some brain cells with meat and the lomo parilla did the trick as I'm writing an articulate article/review now as you can see.  So from a zombified stupor to an amateur style writer type person, I had me some good eats here and now you be knowin.

Is it cheesy if I write deuces again?

  5. I have to give this place 3 stars only because of the ridiculously small portion sizes, there was so much that I liked about this place, the decor, the service the way that they placed fresh mint in the water carafes, but the portions where so tiny! I got the areapa and it was like paying for an entree but getting a small bite or a snack. the food is pretty good but not good enough to pay so much for so little.

  6. We had been talking about a road trip through Mexico, Central America into Colombia to visit an old friend in Bogota. Then, one day we were walking along Prince street looking for a new place to eat. We saw a place that looked like a setting that a location scout for a Brandon Tarantino movie could use as a scene for a generic Pan American hole in the wall cantina. It had a credible hole in the wall decor. We went in without any expectations, liked the hole in the wall look of the place and the vegetarian options on the posted menu. We wound up having a memorable lunch.
The place has a really laid-back feel to it and offers quasi-Mexican food, but is really South American eclectic. We have had the cobia ceviche, scallop ceviche, fried plantains, broccoli side, egg white omelet and quinoa heart of palm salad. Flavors literally explode off the plates and are well balanced. The ceviche is perfectly marinated and the pieces of fish substantial. The quinoa salad has just enough of the grain so as not to overwhelm the other ingredients. They actually use fresh hearts of palm – very hard to get- we have been awed…helped along by an array of delicious margaritas. We literally clean our plates every time we're here. Service is excellent and effortless, in keeping with the casual vibe of the place.  Our carnivore table neighbors have attested to how much they enjoy their meals. We've been back several times, and had our taste buds thankful each time. I recommend this place to all foodies, and I particularly recommend their margaritas, of which there many variations ( I didn't think they were high in alcohol content, but found out otherwise when I got up to use the facilities).
A truly worthwhile stop if you're in the NoLita area. There's no need to travel thousands of miles, evade the banditos and risk GI distress. You can just take the 6 Train to Spring Street, walk a few blocks and enjoy the flavors of Latin America.

  7. I had a great dinner here! I also was starving so that may have been a factor. We ordered a few things. Chips & guac are a nice starter and they include plantain chips too. Yum. The grilled corn was good, but slightly sweeter than I prefer. The cobia ceviche was delicious and one of our favorites. Tacos were also great. Arepas were good though I was so full by then that I didn't enjoy them as much as the other dishes.

Service is on the slow side. The table next to us seemed to wait a while to get their drinks and food. Space is also tight among the tables on/near the sidewalk. Overall, I was quite happy with our dinner here and food was better than I expected.

  8. Little cute, dainty spot that we came across on our way to little Italy. Didn't order any food here, came here for drinks (of course). I tried their avocado drink that was  infused with mango and tequila (forgot the name of this). Interesting mix of flavor. Very different and surprisingly good! But then again, put anything with mango and I'll love it! Staff was very friendly. Place had some cool/hip decor. The only complaint is their bathroom. I'm not sure if I just can't find the light switch but it's so damn dark in there. The only thing giving that room light is the candles. But they did smell nice.

I wouldn't go out of my way to check this place out again, but if you're in the area…I'd say, go for it.
