  1. A little piece of Paris, slightly off the beaten path in between SoHo and West Village. The interior is beautiful, classic, and the fresh flowers on every table bring a bit of life and color to your meal. This place is perfect for a date, or to just enjoy one of their absolutely delicious tarts!

My friend and I shared a Chocolate Pear tart ($10) that was rich, flaky, and satisfied all my chocolate cravings. Tea was poured from an adorable teapot, with hot water being refilled regularly (something i'm always grateful for on a cold day).

20 minutes into sitting down, a random man came inside and started playing loudly on the piano. My friend and I were extremely confused…was he a homeless piano enthusiast? Was he a regular fixture paid to provide live music? It was such an odd experience because the restaurant's soundtrack was still playing while the man played rather loudly and in a disjointed fashion. One of the owners went over to speak to him (or ask him to leave??) and after ten minutes, the restaurant was back to its charming, quaint self.

  2. Terrific place!! Tarts are amazing and definitely the house specialty.
We came here for the Yelp Elite Event and I have to say it was the best one I've been to. Lots of food, savory and sweet, wine and coffee, music and a great ambience.
The owners know how to make people happy and that is with a great vibe and exquisite dishes.
Everything was spectacular but I have to make a side note of their vinaigrette and pickled "tapenade" (at least is what I would call it): it was addictive. Literally I couldn't stop eating it. DELICIOUS!!
All the other plates were phenomenal: especially their spinach tart with the egg on top and the confit pork tart.
Great code too! And what's better than an apple tart to accompany it? Yes, all that great food. They even gave us a chocolate chip cookies to go that I put on the oven next day. Spread with Dulce de leche on top it was killer!!
Beautiful people running the place and very cozy restaurant as well.
Give it a try! You won't be disappointed

  3. Tarts galore!! Savory and sweet and any other kind of tart that you can imagine.

This place is great to grab a coffee and chit-chat over a tart or to have a nice dinner with a special someone. Once Upon a Tart was once just a coffee shop but the owners made an adjacent restaurant next to the coffee shop for those who want more than just a quick snack and coffee.

The restaurant has a quaint and homely feel to it. It is adorned with wooden chairs and tables and a piano towards the back. The fresh flowers really add a lovely touch to the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. The coffees are pretty strong (the only way I like my coffee) and the tarts are to die for!!

There is even a live band playing once a week – check their website or with the owner for more details.

  4. A great lil cafe shop for brunch that serves up wonderful tarts and coffee. The coffee is well made and strong as the baristas do a wonderful job. One of the best cup of coffees in the city. Go for a cappacino or a americano.

Highlights for me were the chocolate/ganache/sea salt/caramel tart. A buttery flakey tart with a rich chocolate ganache that matched well with the sea salt and caramel. Very yummy if you have a sweet tooth. Great egg dishes as the poached eggs and scrambled eggs were very fluffy pillows of goodness. Great for brunch. A wonderful french parisian feel to the cafe and had wonderful service. Great place for a date or to relax.

  5. Great coffee, pie and savory tarts. I came here for a Yelp Elite event and everything we tried was phenomenal. The owners are adorable and worked hard to make the place original. They've succeeded. I would have any of the quiches and the apple cranberry there again.  Espresso drinks are phenomenal too!

  6. The Quick: The perfect amount of sweet and savory exemplified by exposed brick charm, cozy seating, and warm staff. Tarts can literally be eaten for every meal, but they also serve soups, salads, and more!

The Details: Why all dessert isn't served in tart form is a mystery to me. This place just gets it. It's cozy and homey with a French flair that makes the perfect spot for a date or cappuccino for a one with a great book. They also have a full food menu which is not to be overlooked. The dark chocolate ganache with caramel and sea salt has changed my life forever.

The Damage: Fair prices, especially for the amazing area. Brunch plates ~ $14

  7. I've only been to the bakery and then to the restaurant for a quick drink, but this place is superb! Had a berry scone and it was perfectly baked – crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The staff here are incredible, never had so much friendly vibes in the city. Had a beer at the restaurant and some spiced nuts – yum. They also own a venue across the street, making the block cooler one step at a time!

  8. A nice little place in soho – we came here for early breakfast once and enjoyed it.  friendly staff, quaint decor.  We had the spinach mushroom tart, which was pretty good, and the bacon, egg, cheddar and avocado sandwich, which was pretty yummy.
